  1. This Charming Man will spit acid at his monitor when he sees this thread. On topic, he's been one of the stand-out players in this Olympic tournament so I should imagine there will be other clubs after him too, and his price will be driven up by his good performances. Still, he does look very good and would be a great signing imo.
  2. That's very gracious of you. Yes, he is of the asian persuasion. Nice bloke by all accounts - still posts on here as Ludwig.
  3. And I agree, S4E was great. Back in those days I was known as Niemi. Buzzin' Orn and I were the resident pre-pubescents of the board.
  4. I had the emails on my old computer, but couldn't find them when I looked before chucking it away. I remember sending an email out to Keith when the site was taken down asking what was going on and getting an aggressive response back from his wife Poor bastard though.
  5. Played a few hours today - have to say that until you get a gun/weapon it's pretty f*cking difficult but after that it becomes very fun and a great little survival game.
  6. Damn right to apologise, that was a disgusting thing you said. £41 indeed.
  7. Agreed. Can be unbelievably bad at times.
  8. West Quay Cars b!tch.
  9. Watched a few gameplay YouTube videos - have to say it looks great! My housemate has Arma 2 so I may have to steal that from him to get this mod.
  10. -----------------DAVIS------------ CLYNE-----FONTE-----JOS-----FOX ----------------MORGAN----------- ---------DAVIS----------CORK----- J-ROD------------SRL------LALLANA Subs: Gazzaniga, Richardson, Seaborne, Ward-Prowse, Chaplow, Guly, Sharp I think Lallana was wasted in the middle of the pitch against Ajax, he needs to be playing further up the pitch where he's going to be able to get more space to drift and roam. JWP has been very impressive so far this pre-season but I think it may be a bridge too far to put him in as a 17 year old in a newly promoted team playing their first game of the season against the current Champions. Hopefully Cork and Davis will both be match fit given their lack of a decent pre-season at this point. Likewise Guly has been very good so far this pre-season but I think Jay Rod carries more of a goal threat (evident even from watching him only twice) and could allow us to switch to a 4-4-2 with 2 good physical strikers on the pitch if need be.
  11. I'm an all-round great guy.
  12. Don't forget they signed Jon 'Giant Haystacks' Parkin as well. Jesus Christ.
  13. I think it's an important part of parenting. Obviously it shouldn't be a frequent method of dealing with a situation, but if my parents ever gave me a bit of a smack I knew they meant business and I would stop mucking about. Reasoning with children can be a very hard thing (believe me, I was a babysitter for several years in my teens and had to deal with some proper little sh!ts - although I will point out I never smacked them!) but the message with this is very clear: stop. My kids won't be brought up with a very strict element of discipline in their lives, but they need to know that the potential for punishment is there if they seriously step out of line.
  14. Red Red Clyne gets my vote.
  15. I have a few friends who will spend the next year in France doing EFL, so I think that's probably what I would most likely do if I was to go there for a bit. EU is definitely a more viable option but I have wanted to live in Canada for so long now that I think I should just go there for a while and do it!
  16. How long did it take them to hear back about their applications etc? Did any of them get Visas? I would quite like to do Australia as well (I have family near Melbourne and friends in Brisbane) but the living costs are absolutely ridiculous. I don't think it would be financially viable, especially given the number of people that are going there to work now.
  17. I'm thinking of spending a few months living abroad next summer given the current sh!te financial climate here and the fact that I didn't go travelling like a lot of my mates did before they went to Uni. I'd probably look to spend 6-8 months living and working in a few different countries (was thinking Canada and France). Has anybody done something similar? I know working visas are hard to come by, but as it would only be for a few months in each place would this be too much of a problem?
  18. That's my pre-match ritual. Start at The Richmond Inn, then onto The Hobbit, then Inferno, then The Rockstone, then The Alexandra, Giddy Bridge, then finally the KA for an hour or so before heading off to the Stadium.
  19. Obviously this deal is a complete long-shot, but he is a Liverpool fan so he'll probably end up there. I don't think we'd want to pay nearly as much as other clubs would to get him, but he may be slightly tempted by the fact that he has this connection to us and the city, we're a growing and ambitious team with a fantastic manager and chairman and we could be competing towards getting into Europe within the next 3-5 years. Like somebody said above, NC probably has a pot with which to provide signings of this magnitude and he could be tempted to dip into it for the right player (i.e. Theo). Just imagine a front 3 of Lallana-Lambert-Walcott though!
  20. http://m.mirror.co.uk/article?id=1180296/ However unlikely this may be, what a statement of intent!
  21. Only managed to catch the last hour or so last night, just watched the first part now and I have to say that it was stunning. Very well done to everybody involved.
  22. Kana-Biyik would be a great signing. Not sure if he's a great ball-playing defender but he's certainly a fantastic athlete and incredibly strong and quick.
  23. Why? He's always come across as very intelligent and well-spoken to me. Obviously he loses his head on the pitch occasionally which lets him down, but people seem to have this opinion of him as some kind of trogladite knuckle-dragger which is untrue.
  24. Was expecting there to be a bigger attendance for this one in all honesty! Decent atmosphere though and fair play to the Ajax fans to come all that way, even though they were silent for the large part of the game. Davis 6 - Not too much to do, good communication. Got a little casual with his passing to Fonte at times which could've been punished. Clyne 7 - Looked good going forward, maybe a little uneasy to run at his marker and needs to work on guarding the ball better under pressure but he's still settling into the squad so cut him some slack. Fox 8 - Assured and confident, not afraid to switch the ball to the other flank when things became too tight on the left and was pushing up a lot more as well, which is good to see. Fonte 6 - Got caught out once or twice and his short passing wasn't great, but understandably it's pre-season and it was his first 90, so again we'll cut him a bit of slack. Hooiveld 8 - Bossed the defence and provided a great presence, very solid and good communication with Fox and the midfield. Think he'll be one of our best players this year again. Ward-Prowse 8 - Very impressed with him today, he doesn't play like a 17 year old. Wasn't afraid to get stuck in despite his size and great movement. My Dad said to me on the way out of the ground that he reminded him of a young Paul Scholes, I wouldn't say his style of play is entirely dissimilar! Schneiderlin 7 - Good passing, made a few good challenges and good positioning to drop slightly deeper while the other 2 in midfield pushed up. Assured and should be in our starting XI this year. Lallana 7 - Felt he was wasted a bit in the midfield 3 as he didn't get to demonstate his ability on the ball too much as Ajax pressed well. Worked hard and showed some good touches. Guly 8 - Thought he was our best player today. Passed the ball well, put in a few wicked crosses which were difficult to deal with and tucked in well to allow the overlap from Richardson. Very promising this pre-season! Lambert 6 - Looked off the pace really. Fitness still an issue with him, needs to put in a lot more work to get up to where he was towards the end of last season. Showed some good touches but passing a bit sloppy at times. Rodriguez 6 - Didn't get a lot of time on the ball but showed some good movement getting into good positions. Pressed their full-back well but I think he'd be better suited playing in the middle or on the right.
  25. SWF's very own NorthamSteve is performing at the ceremony - good luck to him!
