Ant always stands on the left, it's common knowledge ffs.

You don't need to wait for frost to pick the sloe - just pick them and put them in a sealed container in the freezer for a bit. It has the same effect.

I suppose so, yes. Most of the policies being implemented by the Conservatives now were staunchly opposed by the Lib Dems in the elections, particularly the savage cuts to the public sector. The Lib Dems are now going to sit by and watch tens of thousands of people lose their jobs at the hands of Boy George et al, and hopefully that will trigger some kind of rift in the coalition. I just object to how Clegg suddenly changes the party's stance as soon as he gets into (some) power. He's going to lose a lot of voters now.
-
Lib Dems have lost my vote, sorry. Completely sold out their policies and demands for a slice of the action at the top. Cleggy even came out in the Independent and said there's no future for his party as a left alternative for Labour and the Tories, which is the whole reason they got so many f*cking votes in the first place. What a f*cking moron. I think i'm going to vote Communist at the next election.

Four Lions I'm a massive Chris Morris fan, so I was really excited to see this film as I missed it first time round in the cinema. It's been bashed quite a lot by critics and internet reviewers, but I loved it. The characters were fantastic, every scene was hilarious and the ending, despite being quite sad, was also f*cking hilarious. Haven't laughed so much at a film in absolutely ages. I will say that if you're easily offended on the subject of terrorism, you probably wouldn't find it as funny as I did, but the film is hardly going out and poking fun at the victims of terrorism, it's obvious that Morris et al have thought long and hard about how to approach the subject matter. Just think of it as 'Laurel and Hardy' doing 'Paradise Now'. One word: heimlich. 9/10

Bands You Saw That You Didn`t Think You`D Like...

Crowded House at Glasto 08. Wasn't overly fussed about seeing them, but their set was phenomenal and the banter was brilliant. -

how many times a day do you take a p*ss or a sh*t?
SuperMikey replied to Turkish's topic in The Muppet Show
I'm not sure there's enough tbh. -
I think you'll get the 3 points on Saturday somehow, I don't think we'll seriously start picking up points until Rickie is completely match fit and Lallana is somewhat involved in the side, or we get in a similar type player for a few months to cover for him. I think we'll play (if Barney is injured): -------------------------DAVIS------------------------ BUTTERFIELD-------FONTE----SEABOURNE------HARDING CHAMBERLAIN---HAMMOND----SCHNEIDERLIN----PUNCHEON/HOLMES -----------------LAMBERT----CONNOLLY---------------- Subs: Bialkowski, Dickson, Jaidi, Wotton, Guly, Puncheon/Holmes, Doble If Barney is passed fit, swap him for Connolly in the XI and put Connolly on the bench instead of Doble.

Yes he did, Morgan Freeman's character even says so in the voiceover at the end of the scene. And you see the same scenario (the Sisters surrounding Andy in the washroom before attacking him) a few times in the film, at least twice. Having revised my list from before, I think i'd have to say my top 5 are... 1 - The Green Mile 2 - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 3 - Pulp Fiction 4 - Shaun of the Dead 5 - Inglorious Basterds

SuperMikey replied to Turkish's topic in The Muppet Show
Sh!t - 1 or 2 a day P!ss - 4 or 5 a day, if i'm drinking it goes into double figures. -
Deary me, I thought this place would have changed while I was away, but it's still exactly the same!

Oxlade-Chamberlain was possibly our best player on Saturday. McNish played a few times last season. Gobern is developing into a good player. Are we going to see instant results? No. But we will benefit from the infrastructure in the future, when it matters to be producing our own talent at the highest level.

Adkins would do a great job here, people debating his record are just stupid - he's only been in management for 4 years, and in that time he's got little ol' Sc*nthorpe promoted twice from L1, and then kept them up in the Championship on a shoestring budget. In my view, if you can do a job like that on no money, then you can do even better with some money. We have a better squad than Scunny did, better facilities, a fanbase that (when they can be arsed), will turn out in their thousands to spurr on the team and thanks to Markus, we have enough money to develop the important areas of the club so we don't have to spend millions on players in the future as we'll be developing quality players ourselves.

Racine or Tafazoli? Both very good prospects.

So, The XX won the prize then. Not the choice I would've made tbh. Their album is good, but it drags a lot sometimes and it's completely maudlin. If I was judging, I would've picked Laura Marling's album 'I Speak Because I Can', which is absolutely amazing. Still, at least Dizzee Rascal didn't win...

The Unofficial Official Glastonbury 2011 Thread
SuperMikey replied to swannymere's topic in The Arts
I could never contemplate not going to Glasto, it'd be like not having a christmas. Eavo has already booked the 3 headliners, 2 are supposedly British bands that have headlined before (most probably Radiohead and Coldplay), and one is a female solo artist who hasn't headlined but has 'been', which could mean that she's played but not headlined or just come to the festival. That leads people to think it will either be Lady Gaga (played Other Stage in 2009), Kylie (was due to headline in 2005 but had to pull out due to cancer, played this year with Scissor Sisters) or Beyonce (who came with her husband Jay-Z when he headlined in 08). Eavis did say that he'd love Beyonce to play at the time, so she's probably the most likely choice in my eyes, especially as the hint was worded so carefully. There's also rumour that U2 are playing as they have left a big Glasto-sized gap in their rescheduled tour dates for next year. Aside from that, nothing much going around at the moment, although tickets can be purchased from October 3rd, so we will probably have more hints by then. -
Today, supposedly. I'm still hinging on a 5pm press conference...

Sheffield Wednesday 24hrs from administration
SuperMikey replied to corsacar saint's topic in General Sports
Would be a shame to see them go into admin, tartanowl was pretty sure that they'd settled their PAYE bill and all was going to be well. Mind you, P*mpey thought that as well...difference being that Sheff Wed won't get away with it. -
Not worked for them much recently though, has it?

Just a bit more Murdoch propaganda, nothing to see here.
