Garrett asks a fair question, and its one that puzzles me too. If their leagues were poor and they need six months to acclimatise, then we should not have spent the money. £8M capital outlay, (whatever) in wages .... money for nothing, and your chicks for free.

2? I saw nearer 202 there. Didn't seem to be much trouble going down but the police were treating it as a major incident. The QPR fans were celebrating a rare away win, fair enough.

Back passing to keeper, why Saints ?
the saint in winchester replied to Saints Warrior's topic in The Saints
Too much tippy tappy and crop circle running, passing it back and playing in triangles. Reminded me of the days of the dutch fellas - no penetration or attack on goal. No, this wasn't the day for diagonal balls for Lambert to get outjumped by Samba, but it would have been the perfect game for Mayuka to take it and run at them. Another player who clearly has been brought in for non-footballing reasons. -
I know how you feel. I feel it too. My selected matches this season : Wigan, Sunderland, now QPR. What do the games have in common? On paper, all easily winnable games and I like to see us win. We lost all three. You'll be glad to know I propose to return to Radio Solent and watching Garth Crooks on my Saturday afternoons.

Aaron Martin joins Palace on loan

Norway-bloke who doesn't play at all is preferred to someone who played well at Championship level? (facepalm) -
Aaron Martin joins Palace on loan
the saint in winchester replied to jasoneuelllfanclub's topic in The Saints
Stupid move by the club. If this herbert we got from Norway is never going to be played, then Aaron Martin is needed here. He is 4th choice CB, after Yoshida, Fonte and Hoovield. Letting him go on loan indicates Norway-bloke is considered 4th choice and Martin 5th. I don't get it. -
We are now selling out almost every game. If we stay up this season, the stadium extension has to happen.

And Pochettino will be 41? So Redknapp will be .... you do the math.

So they got a 0-0 draw and will need to step it up for the 2nd leg. Hopefully they will put out a strong side and be a lttle jaded when our game comes.

Seems to me the rule of the game was to run outside of the pitch outside the corner flags? The white team, due to being behind throughout, constantly ran inside the white lines and cut the corners. So, call me a stickler for abiding by the rules, but I declare the white team to be disqualified, and the RED team to be the winners. The little fella should get the vouchers. If the GB relay team ran outside their line, they would be disqualified, right. These offenders should have their season tickets withdrawn, not encouraged to cheat. (All the above is written with a wry grin, people. It's only a bit of fun, I know.)

Offload??? Do you mean "retain". The above would be 5 to retain, surely.

How long until the Toure brothers are back in town? How long is Vince Kompany out? If they are struggling at the back, our marauding game may catch them out. (hopefully|)

Boruc Clyne - Yoshi - Hoovield - Shaw Cork - Schneiderlin Puncheon - J-Rod - Lallana Lambert

Add to me the list of fans concerned we have no CB on the bench. Either Forren or Martin should be there! Such a critical position, we need cover there.

Ah just seen your location is Manchester. Was going to ask which train gets from So'ton to Wigan for £6.50, but you are travelling from Manchester.

Philipe Coutinho - Medical at Liverpool
the saint in winchester replied to itchen_dan's topic in The Saints
That's it, exactly. I don't need to read any more. This is all we need to know. Liverpool have had their bid accepted and the player wants to go there. Game over. -
Mauricio Pochettino Twitter Account
the saint in winchester replied to MINIBARCELONASAINT's topic in The Saints
I don't. But the fake Pochettino account was funny, yeah, especially the David Moyes one. -
Can't we just send him a link to the site? Save printing it all out and pasting it in a scrapbook? Posted myself and read about a 100 messages. Very moving, especially the references to The Man In The Glass. The man is a legend. I wonder if we'll be saying the same about Pochietto in a few years. Hope we will, but somehow I think Adkins is one of a kind.

Best media article so far on the situation
the saint in winchester replied to Sour Mash's topic in The Saints
Don't think it was Lawrie. Pretty sure it was Gordon Strachan towards the end of his time with us. He was getting pee'd off with Lowe's interference and he said "Directors should direct, managers manage ....etc. " -
Who will be leaving (players from NA's era)?
the saint in winchester replied to melmacian_saint's topic in The Saints
Yes, those are two players that are currently a grey area. Especially, Mayuka. We spent, what, £3.5M on him and have hardly played him. I'm intrigued to know why, although we probably never will. Was he a Cortese-driven signing that Adkins went along with? Tadanari - highly thought of last year, but hardly featuring this season. I know he has been injured, and you could say his place has gone to Gaston. Of all our players, these two are maybe at risk of being released or loaned out. Of course, if Mayuka plays a fantastic ACoN, then we'll have the option to sell or retain and play him. -
Yeah, agree that he would fit really well there. Would change the image and style of play, and lots of positivity. I'm sure he won't be out of work for very long at all. It wouldn't surprise me if a few chairman of championship and League 1 clubs aren't seriously considering releasing the current manager and bringing Nigel Adkins in. His record in getting clubs promoted is without equal.

The original poster (FF, Duncan) makes good points, but I do take the subsequent argument that we are stakeholders as customers as fair. I'm as pee'd as everyone (well, the 95%) who were against the sacking. I do think we should confine our protests to before and after the game, not during the match, though. Look at how that hostile environment affects the Chelsea players at home, and we don't want to go down that path. I would have liked Cortese to have made a statement thanking Adkins for what he has achieved and for Adkins to speak for us for the last time. I don't have closure at this time. Not that that is a major issue, but these things should be seen to have been handled properly.

Is that a fact, or just conjecture? Has compensation for loss of office been offered and agreed?
