  1. The Flybe up to Toonland is pretty pricey and you'll need a night stop then back on the early bird plane, so you can't get rat-assed. OKay, you can, but stay awake all night then.
  2. Swap positions over for Guly and Lee, and I would be happy to start with that. First choicers on the bench.
  3. Wasn't JWP grumbling last season at not getting first team action and threatening to go out (albeit on loan) to find it? Model pro? Glad he has got his head together and taken his chance, though.
  4. Flippin 'eck, we should nickname him 'Marmite' cos it seems people either love him or hate him. I'm delighted he is back and hope he gets games in the 3 of the 4-2-3-1 lineup (even the 4-3-3 and the 4-4-2.) In short, there is a place for him. Go Chung, show them what we have been missing.
  5. Rickie did as well as could be expected given our limited possession and style of play. I believe he has done enough to be around next month, when some of the Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck will likely be missing again. Agree, Wilshere was awful. Hopefully we can bring Carrick in at the back of the diamond and push StevieG forward a bit. All to play for still.
  6. Haha, I did too. Imagined Woy saying it, tweemendous. Wicky is there for the long term. Woy is right behind him now. PonyTail is off the radar. Ricky is the 4th striker for the WC now. Others (Defoe et al) won't get a chance to replace him. Roy has seen what he does for us. Not just a target man, he creates and assists, bringing the best out of others.
  7. Ironically, Townsend was showering him with praise all game, so I was surprised he went for Stevie G for MoTM. Maybe because StevieG was still on the pitch at the end? Maybe because he was just picking the captain. Maybe he was told to pick Stevie. I think anyone could see Rickie for the best player. 1 goals, 2 assists! Certain starter on Tue, and I would suggest should NOT be booking a family holiday next June. Rickie's going to Brazil!!!
  8. I hope he IS back in contention, and as you say maybe because we are short up front in 4-2-3-1. He can play either side of the central man in the 3.
  9. Alehouse may be right. It frustrates me too, and I have to remember to re-tune back to local Meridian (rather than HD) to get south news, sports and weather. I'm happy with a low build-up for Rickie, though. Expect nothing, hope for something, can only be good news then.
  10. He knocked in a hat-trick in pre-season, so I still think he may have something to offer.
  11. Completely agree with Turkish and all of you who have posted. The loan system should be to give younger/unused players experience and playing time, but should not be allowed in the same division, and preferably down the food chain. The Demba Ba £3M fee was ridiculous and it's no wonder no-one paid it. I know Jose said he was looking to sell really, so trying to get a suitor at £7M, but no lower ranking club could afford his wages and a loan fee. The loan system does need regulating.
  12. Few good ones on there. Have to put Chris Baird top of the pile, as he can play CB and RB, and we need that. Anton Ferdinand and maybe Luis Saha. I'm sure some of them have officially retired by now. I call myself "unattached" too, not that anyone will come in for me.
  13. Well, Boa Morte just signed for Four Marks, so we have "missed out" there! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23913052 Now I'll read your list.
  14. Rickie Lee Lambert, lol Chuck'ee's in Love - Ricki Lee Jones, IIRC - I am doing this all from memory, no googling here
  15. The Sky reporter at St Mary's said all the staff have gone home, the gates are locked, so no, not really. I am watching now for news on non-Saints related transfers. Wish we were in for Demba Ba or Lukaku. Hoping MP is calling his mate Jose from home!
  16. 84th best player in the world, IIRC. Must mean Guly, Barnard and Sharp are staying!
  17. MP thinks he knows his best 11, but it's not the 11 that suits us best. Please can we have what's left of basically last season's 11 that did so well. -------------- Boruc---------------------- Clyne ----- Fonte ------ Lovren ------- Shaw -------- Cork --------------Morgan --------- RM/Mayuka -------- Lambert -------- Lallana ------- --------------- Jay Rod ----------------- Wanyama slows us down, Pony Tail isn't for us and Gaston, well, he's okay as a sub, but for £12M we need more. Hope we get a couple of wingers and FBs on Monday. We won't.
  18. So the explanation that he wanted to be nearer his girlfriend and child ... that was not the real reason?
  19. Sorry, I haven't read every post on saintsweb - and I know some people expect you to do that before posting anything ...... but do we know why Clyne and Shaw are sitting on the bench when they are clearly our best FBs?
  20. Nothing has changed for me. Target is to avoid relegation, hope is to finish 8th to 13th.
  21. This. If we have to dip into our first choice 11 to beat Barnsley, it's a sad day for us. A chance for our 2nd string to prove themselves.
  22. Answer : No. I wasn't happy that we brought him in, having read his backstory and feel he will be disruptive. Ship out. Find someone young and keen to succeed but with some humility.
  23. I wouldn't accept it if a player is available for 1 game in 4. I don't care how good he could be if he is regularly unavailable. Sell him on this week. At least, MoPo should fine him 2 weeks wages for every red card, 1 week for every yellow. Otherwise this won't make economic sense.
  24. K Davis Clyne Yoshida Hooiveld Fox Cork S Davis Mayuka * Do Prado * Tadanari Leeeee * Sharp * * score tonight or be shipped out tomorrow (playing to prove they have a future with us)
  25. Davis/Gazzaniga Clyne Hoovield Yoshida Fox Cork Davis Mayuka Do Prado T.Lee Sharp
