  1. 4 players who I would be happy to hire there. We need 'a finisher' - someone who is even a lazy sod, doesnt track back but waits for the ball to come to him, but is deadly before goal. Remy caught the eye last night.
  2. You'll get pelters for that viewpoint, mate, so I'll say that I agree with you. Having heard that AP "headbutted" a player, I was expecting on MOTD to see a headbutt a la Zidane on Materazzi. What I saw was Pardew being pushed out the way by a here today, gone tomorrow transient player, then AP chest bumping him and moving his head (no more than that) toward the player. I am amazed at the reaction, that Meyler wasn't cautioned and that 5 mins later we saw a player stamp on on another player and no action was taken. I actually feel AP is getting a bad press here. We could well lose a good manager from the game, and that is disappointing.
  3. Must be OFF then after that hapless 2nd half vs Liverpool.
  4. We can end this and get back to 'Call The Midwife' surely? Nurse Jenny Lee is adorable, isn't she?
  5. True dat, but I expect he will still prefer to take a handful of MU players based on "their experience at international level." Can't get experience if you aren't given it. Self-fulfilling prophecy.
  6. All players should - if they don't already - sign a waiver to exonerate fellow players of responsibility once they take the field. Rather like parking your car in a car park - "no responsibility is accepted for damage to your vehicle while parked on our premises etc" Admittedly different to off field. If a fellow player kicks you on a Friday night out in the city centre, that is liable to legal action, sure.
  7. Sensible answer - he was the only candidate to be interviewed, so the committee agreed to defer permanent recruitment until close season. Until then, the CFO is acting up. Speculation - will KL sell the club and leave this to the new owners?
  8. I thought you meant Plan B was playing at St Mary's at the end of season!
  9. Great, another full international at Saints!
  10. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11677/9185715/premier-league-goalkeeper-shay-given-expects-to-leave-aston-villa Yes please!
  11. On the whole, though, what could Pochettino do in Southampton that he couldn't do in the East End, only more so? Oh I don't know...perhaps that he has the quite considerable resource of the best academy in English football, which has delivered Bale, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain & Nathan Dyer in recent years, with Shaw, James Ward-Prowse, Callum Chambers, Sam Gallagher, and Harrison Reed all coming through. West Ham, despite our history of bringing through decent young players, haven't produced anyone close to the standard of player that Saints are have been producing over the past decade. Noble, a great servant, possesses no where near the technical qualities of someone like their Lallana. That is because Southampton coach their young players in a particular style of football and have been doing so for a considerable amount of time, and Pochettino - who placed a massive onus on developing youngsters at Espanyol - what was brought into accelerate their development. Can you seriously imagine West Ham having the technical qualities to implement his pressing style? Why would he come to West Ham when he quite clearly enjoys developing young players, and our academy is now light years behind Saints? He wouldn't, because this club reeks of short-termism and is quite content to play as turgid a style possible so long as it brings the requisite 40 points per season. This article is laughable in its ignorance and stupidity. We may have won at the weekend but we rode our luck, and on another day, we could have easily lost that game. I, for one, am deeply envious of the potential that there is at Saints and good luck to them. Doing it in the right way. This was one of the comments, thought it was pretty spot on tbf. Heck, what a learned fan they have in their midst.
  12. LOL. Yes agree, but I try not to be too confrontational or dogmatic. No, I can't see Wham or the Newcs making Champions League as they would have to take the place of one of the Big 4. We are still in the second tier in the Prem, and that is pretty good for a team that has only recently got back to the Prem.
  13. Let them have their day in the sun. They scored more goals than us. We had more possession, more shots, more attempts on goal ... but we didn't convert them. Until we do, we won't win enough games of football to progress to Champions League. Not sure West Ham or Newcastle will, either.
  14. Yes, he would have been a good choice. We are creating no end of chances and shots on/off target. We just need someone with a good conversion rate. Shane Long would have been good, Jermain Defoe would have been.
  15. Fabianski LIKELY to leave Arsenal. (BBC) Get in there, Poch. Competing with Boruc, step up from KD now, sadly.
  16. If you're only as good as your last game (so the saying goes) then we are in a low state right now. However, a 3-nil win at West Ham and in my view we are back on track. I've calmed down after the Sunderland defeat. Still disappointed with the team selection, but even that team should have beaten Sunderland's B team. Bad day for most of those players. Don't believe Boruc would have saved the goal but our attacking players were first choices and should have played to full potential to make it a comfortable win.
  17. Aint that the truth, brutha. I was as annoyed with MoPo as everyone else on Saturday, but realistically the team he put out was good enough to win the game as long as they played to their potential. They didn't.
  18. We could use the same chant : Rui Fonte baby oh oh ohhhh
  19. For anyone wanting to see the game today .... BT Sport is FREE VIEW today, all day !!!!!!!!!
  20. That's a PO postcode? Go west, young man.
  21. Has anyone got a youtube video for Carlos Kickball? If he's a Colombian international, he must be good.
  22. Hull are awesome at home. Check the stats. They don't concede - probably because they attack. Have to say HOME WIN.
  23. That would be my thinking too. They are a physical team. Big Vic may be needed to snarl back at them.
  24. This will have to be resolved from the top down. 1. Ownership 2. Directors 3. Management 4. Playing staff All will be resolved in the summer. Poch could come out and say he wants to stay, but if the club is sold and the new owners want to bring in X as the new manager, Poch's commitment will be irrelevant.
  25. IT's worth reading the story linked to get down to this link http://www.football.co.uk/chelsea/20_hottest_premier_league_wags_rss1932573.shtml?utm_source=taboola&utm_medium=referral Enjoy! (but not when the missus is around )
