Saints 16th in this season's fair play table
the saint in winchester replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Yeah, would need the key to the symbols. R/Y I assume is Red/Yellow? Aside the departed Argie fella, we don't have any regular offenders that would cause us to be so low down. -
Good one. I was there that day! I wasn't so dismissive of him then. I went home singing his praises.

According to the Stoke Sentinel report, they are still trying to understand what happened. Sounds like you are able to help them with their enquiries, Stevie. Can you drop a line to amanda.jacks@fsf.org.uk with the above explanation. It wouldn't be right of me to copy paste your words. The objective is to draw a line under this, as clearly - according to that report - they believe the stewards at St Marys are at fault for not clearing the aisles. Let's clear this up and get the bad blood out of the way.

Just odd that he is still here when Sharp, Barnard, Lee have left or gone on loan. He is a forgotten man in that I had forgotten he was still on the payroll. Does he play for the U21s often? I mean no disrepect to the guy. He was an Adkins signing in the same bracket as the above and yet they are all pursuing their careers elsewhere. Not so 'Johnno Quick' to drive his own career forward.
-
Crazy that we have held a space in the 25 for Forte when he has no more chance of playing than I have ... okay, maybe slightly better.

Fulham, Norwich and ........ Man Utd. No okay, I don't really think the final one.

January 2014 Transfer news & rumours

Salamon Kalou is looking for a move back to the Premiership. Use the £300k plus Osvaldo's wage saving, maybe we can offer him what he wants. -
Have we a striker replacement??
the saint in winchester replied to Dublin Saint's topic in The Saints
The Osvaldo situation is a bit like having loads of watchers on an ebay auction. You hope for a ding dong auction at the end pushing the price up, but more often than not, no-one bids! We could end up with no-one wanting to take Osvaldo either to buy or on loan. Let's just wait and see. Apparently that Vukinic bloke is on his way to Arsenal. Did he come to the game on Tue, and pick the wrong team to join? -
Roker Rover, what's this Scocco all about then? Should we be worried?
-
He cost us £1.8M. How much do think we could get back for him? £1M? £500k?

Osvaldo to Juventus (Confirmed)
the saint in winchester replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Flippin eck, I may as well read it in Italian, as I make no sense of the translation : Mirko Vucinic is output from Juventus. On the Montenegrin's Inter Milan, but another track has emerged in the last hour. Vucinic is in fact to be recorded on the interest of Southampton. And here is the idea of the last hours: Osvaldo and Vucinic to Juventus in England at the court of Pochettino. A track to be taken into serious consideration that could take hold in the coming hours. An exchange in which the parties are working with the lights off. I read it as a swap deal .... unless Pochettino really IS leaving to become a high court judge! -
Should we rename St Mary's to The Liebherr Arena?
the saint in winchester replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
Agree. This is actually a very reasonable and creditable suggestion. -
Definitely need to identify a stand-in for Lovren. A quality CB, costing £10M+. Gaston is - so far - Lalla's stand-in. So Lalla just needs to be prepared to play the full 90, and I'm sure he is happy to do that.

Osvaldo to Juventus (Confirmed)
the saint in winchester replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Therein lies the problem. Who would offer us our money back after this, and previous, incidents? We would have to sell him on the cheap. Another view is that this is gross misconduct and results in instant dismissal. But then his contract is terminated and he is a free agent. Either way, we are going to have to take a hit. (no pun intended.) -
South Winch Chester, not far from South Hampton.

Prem managers have a decision to take at 3rd round stage, and Allardyce and Moyes must regret the decision they took this weekend. Or maybe not .... if their league games go well. Will Big Sam get the bullet? Probably not. Should Rickie consider going there? NO! If MoPo is prepared to sacrifice Rickie because he and Osvaldo don't gel together ... then MoPo is off his rocker.

Oh ok, I get it. You want Lambert and Rodriguez to sit on the bench after all they have done for us. (facepalm)

I refer the group to the Match Thread, post #351, where I am seriously suggesting we make an approach for both Vokes and Ings. I see them as strikers 3 and 4, replacing the likes of Sharp, Barnard, Lee and Guly. Together they are very good, and both Saints fans.

Match Thread - Saints v Burnley - FA Cup 3rd Round

Not intended to be first choice, only as backup. I suggest they an upgrade on Sharp, Barnard, Lee, Guly ...... -

Then we tell them that, and try to talk Burnley into it. -

Let's make an offer for Vokes and Ings. Two Saints supporters at heart, according to Solent. Offer them Billy Sharp and Lee Barnard (plus cash?) -
All Championship and L1 players that are a victim of our success, sadly. Their future will be elsewhere.
-
Yes I like that idea. Shay Given or Brad Friedel would be my shortlist.
