New Keeper / David Marshall Interest
the saint in winchester replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Then you are mixing up the options. If replacing McCarthy then you are choosing option 1. If you want option 2, choose from Foster, Forster, Marshall, Vorm or a GK from the World Cup. -
Agree. This is the way to structure it. Give him a 3 year contract, and if he is still with us for year 3, Feyenoooord can have the additional €3M then.

Dusan Tadic - DONE DEAL, official and everything

Ah, thanks for explaining. I was confused. -
New Keeper / David Marshall Interest
the saint in winchester replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
So, we either 1) stand by Boruc as #1 keeper and settle for an up and coming deputy eg. McCarthy from Reading, or 2) recruit another top notch keeper to rival Boruc and tell them they are of equal status and compete for the jersey. If Boruc doesn't accept that and chooses to leave, we have to accept that. Vote now. -
As DL says 'my head is already at Liverpool' suggest we charge them £20M for his head and another £10M for the rest of him.

Don't usually agree with your posts, esp re Hoddle, but I do agree with you on this one. Start the quality signings and others will be encouraged to sign up when they see we mean business. -
Saints reject bid from Cardiff for José Fonte
the saint in winchester replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
You said, I thought it, we are probably all thinking it. We may have missed a trick. If we could use it as leverage to get Caulker to SMS, we should do it. Don't want Fonte to leave, but if we can get Caulker somehow, I'm in. -
Is this a little dig at Pochetino from Cork?
the saint in winchester replied to Johnny Bognor's topic in The Saints
Answer is NO. The quote is taken from the youtube video about the pre-season medical testing, and the question was about how the group was reacting to a new manager coming in. There was no reference to Poch, from interviewer or from JC. Poch has been a successful player and manager. JC was talking about an unspecified type of manager who hasn't achieved. Both Poch and RK have achieved. -
More a HCDAJFU than a rumour. I know he has skate history, but as a freebee he would be a good addition to the squad, IMHO. [h=3]12:28[/h] Sky Sports understands that Burnley are poised to land Matt Taylorfollowing his departure from West Ham. The 32-year-old free agent, who previously spent three successful years with Bolton, is due to undergo a medical and is set to sign a two-year deal at Turf Moor.

I'll take that. Gives Gallagher a few games. -
As above stated, I'm sure it's that they wanted to let the incoming manager have input on the ins and outs. My own personal view is that Cork is a no-brainer, has to be offered a new contract. Fonte - maybe the Osvaldo decision sways a little, but otherwise I would want him to stay.

This business of players going on strike
the saint in winchester replied to Huffton's topic in The Saints
Same as with other occupations presumably? Depends on terms of the contract. -
Am I gay if I drink Rosé....?
the saint in winchester replied to Saint-scooby's topic in The Muppet Show
I drink rose and I'm not gay. Don't know about my boyfriend though! -
FFS. Offer them the €12M. Do the deal. Stop trying to save pocket change (in relative terms.) Then move on to the next transfer target.
-
[h=3]11:09[/h] And Sky Sports sources also understand that Southampton have made an offer for Feyenoord striker Graziano Pelle. It is understood that the bid is below Feyenoord's £9.5million valuation of Pelle, who has spent the last two seasons playing under new Southampton boss Ronald Koeman at De Kuip.
-
Stop faffing about, give them the 12M EUR and get the job done. We can't play a poker hand with a mountain of cash in front of us.
-
[h=3]12:05[/h] Nice and West Ham are reported to have agreed a fee for the transfer of Timothee Kolodziejczak to the Premier League side. L’Equipeclaims that the Hammers will invest between three and five million euros to land the 22-year-old. But with the versatile left-sided player still to settle personal terms, there remains a chance that QPR andSouthampton could still secure his services.

will we see Suarez in our first match? (Answer: No.)
the saint in winchester replied to offix's topic in The Saints
If he wants to play on, take his teeth out. Or put him in a muzzle, like a dangerous dog. One year ban from all football, unpaid leave (so LFC don't lose out). -
Hope WE (Saints) get first pick of the Feyenoord players. We are expecting a few in from the Netherlands. Let's get some in. This summer has been all about who is leaving.

Will Koeman Give Osvaldo Another Chance?
the saint in winchester replied to Pastor Patrón's topic in The Saints
Does Osvaldo get on with Graziano Pelle? Assuming a number of things here - that we bring in Pelle, that we want to keep Ossie, that they can play together .... He is becoming (or has already become) an unsaleable asset, so we need to find a use for him. -
This is already a done deal. Hoovield regular starter and made captain from the off.
-
Yeah, when I heard that first fixture this morning I thought Saints 13-14 vs Saints 14-15 !!!

Just wanted to share that
