This one seems to be polarising opinion. Some reason that Wolves are a larger club so can pay him more. The other camp respond that Wolves are on a downward spiral and he would be better served staying with Reading. I'm definitely in the second group. He can consider his options at the end of the season. If Reading haven't made the promotion list, then it is the time to look at options. But not now - Reading are serious promotion candidates, and he wouldn't mess them about. I would be amazed if he was interested in Wolves. And Adkins? No chance, thank heavens.

Was just considering this conundrum myself and was going to open a thread - don't need to, as one is up and running. Hard to say on this one - I usually say 'draw please' so no-one gets 3 points! Agree we don't want the chasing pack to catch us, but then I don't want Wham to re-establish top spot. So on balance, I'm going to hope for a draw and hope we can put a series of wins together to get clear in front, and then the rest can beat each other senseless.

You're a confusing character alright - girlie in some ways .... yet into death metal! ME? Completely in touch with my feminine side and don't mind saying it. I have Desperate Housewives on series-link on Sky Plus! Love Rom Coms ... drink Lambrini, eat chocolates, listen to smooth jazz (Kenny G, Chris Botti, Boney James etc) .... but long bubble baths?? No way! I'm not a complete woman. Torn tomorrow between St Mary's and staying in for Whitney's funeral. As I'm hoping the funeral is later than 5pm our time, I'll be at the game!

Only vaguely Saints related but...
the saint in winchester replied to LaptopSaint's topic in The Saints
Absolutely bizarre - if they were 17th you could understand the reasoning. But what are they - 4th? The Chairman is clearly thinking top 2 or 3rd at best. An unfair dismissal, unless there is something we don't know about. He'll have to serve gardening leave while that goes through, but after that someone is going to get a very good manager. -
sharp is an out and out goal scorer and will score lots of goals for saints Hope so .... but Torres was an out and out goal scorer for Liverpool ... and now ... Anyway, hope he hits a hat-trick on Saturday.

SAINTS V DERBY THIS SAT, FULL HOUSE = 12th MAN
the saint in winchester replied to gazzzza's topic in The Saints
Yes, that's the reality of it. A number of the sides 3rd to 7th have a game in hand and if they win them, we are 2nd only on goal difference. We can't start puffing our chests out just yet. Let's get clear water ahead before we start looking at the Promised Land. -
Agree with you on this. To hear that BB was going on-stage and declaring his sadness at her death made me angry. As you say, he introduced the gospel-singing pure Whitney to the scene he was involved in ... and she never could get out of it. There's blood on your hands, Bobby Brown. For me, the Princess, the best singer of my generation, always my favourite from her first song to the latest album. I look to you, Whitney. Thank you for the music. xx

I think we'd all like to help you. But we are unsure why you suddenly need £7000 of our children's inheritance. Care to hallucinate? Hoping it's not a tip for the 3.20 at Wincanton tomorrow?

Would expect Guly to sit this one out, and Chaplow/Puncheon to take the RM spot. Would expect Puncheon to start and Chaplow to come off the bench for last 30 mins. Hammond and Cork CM. Rickie and Billy up front. Otherwise, as you were.

You do realise £40 pw x 260 weeks is £10,400 repayable on £5000 principal??? That's more of a payday loan rate. I'll do you better terms than that, for a fellow Saint. PM me.

Sky Sports website still not reflected the goal! Thanks heavens Solent has the game on DAB!!!! (with Pompey on the late slot, Saints get the DAB!!!)
-
No Bart on bench! No Chaplow on bench or starting!
-
Surely its simply that Fox will be facing a 3 match ban (or is just the one?) for his sending off, and we need cover for Harding. Feedback on Harding last night was negative so maybe Adkins will give Dickson a game to check him over.

Match was a joke. If anyone doubted the power of TV over football, there it was. The two most free-scoring sides in this league and not a goal between them. Should have been postponed and let Sky Sports play some archive footage for 90 minutes. Ok, yeah, we got a point, but we are now 4 points off Wham. And Rickie, for crying out loud .... shoot at goal!

Brum V Saints Match Thread!!
the saint in winchester replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Can't believe the game is going ahead (looking at Sky coverage)!!! Should be called off NOW before anyone gets hurt and before there is a goal. We can't play our passing game on this surface!!! A lottery now. -
IF the man-mountain Zigic is playing (I see some of you thinking he will be injured) how would you all feel about us bringing in our own mountain - JAIDI ??? Up against his old club, motivated, given a challenge of a one-on-one against Zigic - how about it? If Zigic is out, then yeah - Fonte and Martin.

I read this in the style of Stuart Hall after a match. It sounds great. Sun, you have a job waiting for you with 5Live when Stuart Hall retires/dies.
-
I just read that as well, and was hoping this could be denied. Surely he is playing 2nite!!!!
-
How annoying to have to play such an important game when the transfer window closes at 11pm. Hope NC/NA have smartphones and make offers through the game!!!

I don't think I have ever read an article on the OS before where I have had tears rolling down my cheeks by the end. But it has happened now. Quote from Mr Trousers above should be our policy. Welcome back, Jason. You have the ability. We should get behind you. You are one of us. You are OUR player.

Yes, now a priority to get ONE, maybe 2, CB's in urgently.

Why promotion is still within our grasp!
the saint in winchester replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
Yes, we are second still ... but our current form is woeful, injuries are piling up and we have to play our promotion rivals in the next few weeks. Things don't look good. I haven't given up hope, but I do have a feeling of sinking in quicksand. -
So - if he really was in the stands tonight - will he have concluded Saints are hopeless and it put him off signing ... OR will he think "eeh by gum, they are 'opeless up front; I'll reet get in that team and play every game"??? And so decide he WILL join us? Press your keypad now. Vote A for 'not sign' or B for 'will sign."

Puncheon slates Cortese on Twitter
the saint in winchester replied to Um Bongo's topic in The Saints
No-one comes out of this with credit, sadly, neither the player nor the club. He is probably frustrated that offers are coming in but being turned down. Maybe he concludes are more interested in keeping him to demean him than they are about taking some money and letting him continue his career. Yes, his tweets are ill-advised and won't sweeten the relationship. But equally the Club needs to explain to him what the plan is and what the offer level needs to be to trigger his release. A sour relationship here does neither party any favours.
