personally he was my MOM saturday, one thing i found really interesting was about 10mins in to the second half him and morgan swapped places with Clyne and Shaw. I'm guessing MP saw how slow their defence was and just let us rip at them for a 15 minute spell to scare the life out of them. It's those clever little tactical things that make me rate him so highly as a manger, i can't help but think we've got seriously, seriously lucky there. All i'm worried about for the minute is United coming in for MP and him coming back for Ward Prowse, Shaw and Clyne!

That was one of the most complete saints performances I've seen in a long time. First half we were immense and jwp looked like an international. Really no bad words tonight the support was fantastic, the team were better and we're 3rd! Right I'm off to Boruc's for vodka and Charlie

Honestly no, but then I find the majority of American sports dull to be honest. The closest would be watching foreign football, where's there's some clubs I like watching and want to do well, but would never consider myself a fan of. As for people seeing it as an affront or bad thing it's not, I just don't understand it. It seems a hollow thing to me and takes out the most important layer of what makes supporting a club mean something. Pride in where you're from.
-
That's the bit i don't understand in the slightest, i'm not saying we've never had idols or lost players, but jesus i support my team no matter who plays for it since it's a representation of my city. We don't need idols, we just have pride in our city and our roots.
-
Not a dig but for the life of me it makes no sense how people can support a club from a city they've never been to, have no connection to and (probably most importantly) weren't born in. Your football club is quite simply am extension of your pride in your city, the idea that two fans who've never been to either city are gloating about "their" team winning against each other just baffles me.

I was working on the assumption the tv money had been offset against the training ground improvements, as had been suggested, and we weren't being directly funded by the liebherr's anymore. If that's the case there's a shortfall against players this season that isn't covered by ticket and merchandising
-
If the liebherr's are pulling out then we should start asking some serious questions now. We are not even close to making the books balance in my opinion, though I could be wrong, and we don't want to end up like the cheats down the road. Mind you the theory on the training ground makes a lot of sense, but if that's written off against the tv monies (like has been suggested) where had the money for Lovern, Wanyama and Osvaldo come from? Let's not play games here, the last thing we should be doing after claiming the moral high ground over the skates is burying out heads in the sand. We know there's no way our ground, even with price hikes, can cover the money we've spent. And especially not seeing as how the attendance had been lower than last time we were in the prem (on what was a much cheaper squad). Hopefully this is a nothing thing but we need to start asking these questions in my opinion, or we're just as bad as the cheats.

He's no paul wooton though is he? I've said for a long, long time that he's one of the best midfielders we've seen at Saints in a while. To me he wouldn't look out of place in a champions league side, and the scary thing is just how young he is.
-
As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?
ericb replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
this came from there God knows what game that fella was watching since i thought it was a cracking end to end game, with both sides having a fair few chances and we could easily have one it in my opinion. -
No risk of injuries for us has to be good news
-
Been saying this for a while now. To be honest I think he's the best youngster we have though I'm happy to see him slip under the media radar for now as he's going to be quality
-
Couldn't care less about England these days, though i'll support saints players when they play, it's definitely club over country for me.
-
Not on this thread no, but according to many Wooton was better than Morgan and to some sharp better than osvaldo. Davis as better to gaston is the new one, based on a cup game against Bristol City. Basically a lot ok here don't really see the reality of a players talent sadly and live in headless chicken superstar land
-
Hopefully we'll sell him and bring in someone like Wooton, Omerod or Sharp. Since according to this place they're the best that can be had in modern football.
-
Yup and i've definitely not seen police filming us as we queue to go into grounds - home and away - and there's definitely never any cameras in pubs before hand. Sounds like it's time for me to go to the shrink though, since i'm sure i've seen all of the above but apparently i imagined it. On another note looks like the Chelsea/Cardiff thing the other season has properly hammered those two clubs on the banning order front.
-
Newcastle were pretty ****ing dire last season too. Strange Swansea were bad though since they were one of the best lot last season
-
Leeds away!

I really don't, half the time he reminds me of the middle east's answer to Alan Partridge

Jesus were you bullied at school or just a natural grass?

Except they're not, libertarian communism (aka anarchism) is if anything the logical conclusion of the marixist dialectic. Hence why Marx and Proudhon fell out (as can be seen by the Poverty of Philosophy amongst other works). What you're doing is mistaking the hierarchy of Leninism with Marxism. I think the biggest problem with this whole thing, apart from the fact that the Daily Mail is attempting hijack what it means to be English/British (and i for one don't want to be from a Britain where their values are our values, i'd rather be from the one of the diggers/levellers/William Morris/Hobbes/Hume/Adam-Smith/Russell). Is that it's going to be start of a very dirty campaign in the upcoming election that will ultimately only devalue politics and make the majority concentrate on the personal/personality over the policies.

Having lived in london for a while now you come to realise what a cultural black hole southampton really is, and food wise it's no different. The "high end" places in southampton are not even close to being that, they're over priced; crass; with no subtlety to the food. Unfortunately though that does - to a large extent - sum up southampton, as well as many other provincial cities, which lets be honest is a long way from being the most sophisticated city in the world. It's a shame really since the city is still my home town and holds a special place in my heart but i really can't ever see myself living there again. The night life is limited, the cultural life next to non-existent, the shopping mass market and poor and the architecture ugly and badly planned. There's nice parks, good people and saints though. Plus it's still home.

It's one hip flask, one crack pipe and two horse hair butt plugs (one worn during the game). Hope that helps

Swansea's midfield looks very strong to me, and they'll be a threat going forward. I have a feeling we'll probably lose this one, but it'll be a tight 2-1 type affair. For what it's worth i'd like to see a midfield three of cork, wanyama and morgan, just to tighten up a bit against a team we know will hit us through their midfield.

His other half on the way out?
