  1. There's no way i want Poch sacked, what i want is for us as a club to treat our fans with respect by saving them a few hundred pounds of travel when they know we're not going for a competition. To treat competitions such as the FA cup with the respect they deserve. To apologise and learn from what happened today, and to aim to win silverware at every point they can. To play with a passion, commitment and desire that their places and shirts deserve. To realise that they represent not just a football club but a city, a people, who are proud of where they come from and the traditions that we're part of, and want to see it continued. To understand that 8th place and a few more pounds is worth far less than genuine success that puts our city and club on the map. I know most of these sound old fashioned and outdated but i think they're things that the majority of saints fans would agree with.
  2. It's seriously, seriously mental to think like that. The chance was there to take the cup seriously and get maybe only our second serious piece of silverware. With the players and management going down in history. But no, 8th in the fu.cking league is more of a priority. What a fu.cking shower of ****. Livid doesn't cover how i'm feeling right now.
  3. Could be right i did two in quick succession at leeds around the mid 90s as i was seeing a girl from Leeds at the time so was up there anyway. Remember it being fu.cking freezing and being in that corner so it might be that game.
  4. Not been called a kid in a while, but i must be a fu.cking old one given my first game was '84! I'm not saying there weren't good away days - dellhurst definitely was one - but on the whole the ones you mention were always well supported. It was the northern games that were less so, sheffield united, wednesday, bradford, leeds, middlesborough, sunderland and weirdly everton always seemed to be our lowest away attendance almost every season. The London games plus Villa, United (though i do remember the Timmy Flowers cup game that we didn't sell out there) and Liverpool were normally decent turnouts, and maybe that's the reason you think the support was good. You only went to the games where the support was decent rather than the rest of them (where it was pretty fu.cking woeful at times) so your vision of the truth is blurred.
  5. If that's the game i'm thinking of i was at that one, stuck in the corner with hardly anyone there. Think it was Carlton Palmers first game back at elland road too and he got a stupid amount of racist abuse from the leeds fans. In all honest i've done loads of northern games (and a few that weren't too) where we struggled to get many more than 500, so it's definitely not just you remembering that.
  6. Good game of football that, we played well and got the result i think we deserved in a match i thought we'd lose. Fair play to hull too, Curtis Davies looks a top center back and i hope your lad that went of injured is ok. Think you've got enough to stay up just need to be a bit more clinical infront of goal. Special shout to the 1000+ saints that made it up, great noise and a hell of a trip on a tuesday before we play Sunderland in away in the cup!

Timmy took a while to get decent though, i remember us getting utterly spanked in his debut (4-1 if memory serves) and the Milton crying out for Budgie to come back. Even after that he was in a battle with Ian Andrews for the first couple of years in the fans eyes as he was inconsistent and let in some shockers (no one put it down to our complete lack of defence). Then come the end of his time here you had the whole Milton singing "sign on Timmy, Timmy sign on" as he'd become a hero.
  8. Wouldn't mind seeing us rest a few key players given the Sunderland game this Saturday. It's not like we're getting relegated or Europe through the league.
  9. It's ok though as they'd rather be them than Exeter apparently http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=536034 I think reality is going to be really fuc.king hard for them deal with when it comes.

    West Ham away

Got three tickets last friday and was really surprised it was so easy to do. Still not going to complain as hopefully i'll get tickets to spurs too (with it being a sunday) and maybe palace.
  11. Signed, i have a massive amount of time for Cov' and see them as a very similar club to us who just happened to be very unlucky in the arseholes that bought them. Hope you can sort it out soon and get back up to the top flight again as that's where you belong in my opinion.
  12. As far as i saw it Danny Fox was never "targeted by the hate mob" he was quite simply nowhere near good enough for the premier league and nearly everybody could see that/got frustrated by it. Of course that doesn't fit into the general hyperbole that this place is so found of, where you either have to be with something or against something (a bit like the Mccarthy trials in the states).
  13. What's the odds on this making just season ticket holders? Since i want to pick up three tickets but "technically" haven't done anyway aways (i've had to borrow other peoples tickets to do them).

    Chris Nicholl

I don't remember them either but i'd guess that was about 90-93 going by the kits in the crowd. Probably a one off thing but not something that's stuck in my brain (like the old marching band did).

    Chris Nicholl

Talking of Nicholl this is how i'll always remember the dell most fondly https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Be0aqwgCYAEox8p.jpg:large many a happy saturday afternoon was spent just under the milton roof (on the right side).
  16. Liverpool game time works out better for me to be honest but the Spurs game is a ****ing ballache. I hate those early kick off sunday games, always **** atmosphere and a pain in the arse to get to due to transport.

Swansea on loan for the rest of the season then off to monaco is what i've heard coming out of blackpool. Although Palace have also had a bid accepted (not sure if it's to buy or loan).
  18. I'd forgotten about that cu/nt. Now there's a man who would've made a great speed bump.
  19. It's not even just the lack of choice of shops though, it's that what is there all sells the same (badly made and cheap) clothes. It's not a surprise we have so many scruffy fuc.kers in our support since it's almost impossible to get decent clobber in southampton these days. Mind you i'm pretty spoilt by living and working in London now, i just couldn't imagine having to rely on the crap you get served up in southampton these days.
  20. I really wouldn't i thought that was a sickening challenge. Not in control and dangerous. Having played that looks to me like a desperation challenging, knowing you can't catch the man.
  21. Yeah i mean it must be a conspiracy, it's not like Osvaldo is banned from the Newcastle game, Wanyama is injured and Rameriz is on the bench. Jesus some of our fans are dins.
  22. As anyone in a relationship knows you can say I'm fine in exactly the same words but the meaning can be different. Nuance in language is something that is very difficult to translate.
  23. Funny i thought that the spanish version was far less committal than the translated version, and that some of the complexities and subtleties where lost in translation.
  24. Spot on. No point panicking yet, what happens happens, everything else is just speculation.
  25. Wonder if that sky sports thing was the family showing that they can play the "leaking to the press" game too?
