  1. To be fair i tend to agree still on the fact the Premier League is too commercial, just look at the ridiculous jump in price of the Reading game from last season to this. Also - on the whole - the atmosphere in the prem is utterly terrible, and ours has suffered too due to a lot of JCLs turning up again. As a fans experience i'd much rather be in the championship as it's cheaper, better atmosphere and more fun. On a football experience i don't think anyone argued they'd rather be there, since the football in this league is streets ahead
  2. Gaston is class, unfortunately a very large majority of our fans are utterly clueless about football so think someone who runs blindly into corners (de ridder), someone who "gets stuck in" (wooton) and someone who's first touch is the touch of a rapist (sharp) are better than players with genuine talent speaks volumes. Gaston, Lambert and Jay Rod are going to work very, very well next season and i have a sneaky feeling Gaston is going to prove to me a seriously astute signing. Of course i don't doubt that many will jeopardise this by going on a witch hunt cause they know better than our manager (and the manager of an international team).
  3. West ham are a horrible, horrible team these days. Reminded me of the worst of the park the bus and hoof it long teams we saw in league one. I can't believe the club they've become, just dour nasty, cheating and hoofers. So glad we've got our games against them out of the way since i don't want to have to watch them play again in a long time.
  4. Um i hate to break it to you but plenty of people in southampton (and every single other place in the world) swear loudly in public places in front of children. Personally i think this over the top "protecting" our precious little children is rubbish. First of all you make swearing mean something (i mean who's ever actually been offended by a swear word? Not the intent, but the word?) and secondly those kids WILL have heard it before, will hear it again and won't turn into raging monsters who rob grannies and rape every woman they see just because of a few people swearing!
  5. For morgan (to the tune of the proclaimers 500 miles, do do do dooo bit ) Morgan Schneiderlin Morgan Schneiderlin etc. Easy, can keep going for ages and is fun to sing when you're drunk
  6. Nick is a sound bloke with the club at heart and probably far more a fan than most who post on here. The fact that a few dins on a forum (a lot of whom don't put in half the legwork he does) hate him shows them up far more than him.
  7. Fu.ck no, i for one am glad the witch is gone, now all we need to do is get rid of her legacy
  8. And an ex Skate too boot! I'd imagine if we do relegate them though it'd get a bit lively that day mind. Fu.cking nasty bunch when they show are stoke

    Top ten

Nope but i think it's highly unlikely given Fulham have two games in hand and the fact that when we're safe there's a good chance our season will peter out a bit. Would be great if we could do it though.

    Gaston

The football illiterate kick and run merchants slagged Lallana when he started, they were wrong. Then they slagged Morgan and guess what? They were proven wrong again. They slagged Rodriguez and what's been the result? The same. Now they're slagging Gaston. And guess what? I couldn't really give a sh.it because they have proven time and again they don't have a clue. Gaston is a class player, who's young and made a switch from a very different league. There's always a settling period with any player but the obvious signs of talent are there. In terms of his distribution he's head and shoulders above any other player here, his shooting is off at the moment but importantly he still has the confidence to try it. The main thing for me is fitness, i'm really unsure why he's not able to make a full 90 yet, but i'm sure that'll change with time. Still we could always have a vote for who we'd prefer, him or Davis, then come back and laugh at it later along the lines of Morgan or Wotton. Since i'm sure the vote right now will be for the poorer player.
  11. I've thought we've been safe for a good month or so now so definitely yes. Not really sure what the worry is to be honest, in fact i think the geordies are in more danger than us and i bet they aren't thinking they'll go down.
  12. I think the ones doing the slagging off often tend to be the JCLs that have returned now we're in the prem again. There was a fair few of them around yesterday making stupid uninformed comments (and one couldn't even work the turnstile!) since they haven't seen the way this squad has matured in the last few years. It's one of the the things that we'll have to put up with now unfortunately and it's also (in my opinion) the reason the atmosphere hasn't been as great this season as it was last season.
  13. But it's how it works on a computer game so it must be right
  14. Would love to get a ticket to this one as i can see WHL from my flat! But not having been to any others this season i'd guess that's highly unlikely
  15. What a stupid question of course not, they're absolute scum as anyone who's ever had to do an away day at Fratton will know. Bunch of cowards that chuck stuff at you from a distance and revel in their "hardman" attitude. Then there's the horrible cheating, dirty team and it's gun running, child murdering, pension stealing owners. Oh and also the sickening love in with the media for the fews terrible support. There's not a club, or city that comes within touching distance of how much i hate those inbred cu.nts, and i'm shocked there would be for any other saints fan to be honest.
  16. One of the things i loved about Adkins, that came across well in that interview and that made me so angry with the way we treated him, was his absolute class. The guy has genuine class and dignity and deserves to go a long way in the game. Shame he had to choose a two bit club like reading to do it at really.
  17. With the most respect in the world. Fu.ck off you boring ar.se that's exactly why computer game players shouldn't be football fans. There's no shame in hating the skates and anyone who's been down there will tell you that. To say there's a thread somewhere else shows how little you understand this club and terrace culture in general. They're scum, portsmyth who bleat loudly then run (joiners). Fu.ck them and everything about that dirty scummy sh.ithole of a town

    Jack cork

It's been said before but in all this talk about player of the season it mustn't be forgotten the impact he had on us. Cork coming back, in my opinion, changed our season. He's often overlooked but been superb for us and deserves massive credit. Alongside that I think he deserves a song, my suggestion would be (to the tune of must be love) Must be cork Jack cork You know the rest...
  19. I'd imagine he is very much on Deschamps radar, just as every other French player in the premier league is. If you think the French scouts don't watch their players in the top flights abroad then i think you'll be very surprised. I do however agree he'll have to move to a top four club to do it, but i think that the chances of that happening in the next couple of seasons is actually very high.
  20. I said from his first season that Morgan was going to be a class act. I said in league one he'll eventually be our most important player. I said in the championship he'll probably end up at a top four club. Now we're in the prem' i can't help but think that not only will he go on to play at a top four club he'll also captain France at some point. But then again i don't base my judgements on a computer game or the old kick and rush of the past.
  21. Me too but i can see a fair few offers coming in for him in the close season, the way that the scouts work these days i doubt they'll ignore his stats
  22. I've thought for a few weeks now we're safe, in the same way i thought last season we were going up, todays result - and more importantly the performance - means i'm sure we will. Cracking game, great performances from most of the players but especially, Clyne, Rodriguez, Lallana and Schneiderlin. Not quite the 4-1 under Nicholl but a fu.cking cracking game all the same.
  23. Awesome we're going to be able to buy droids from next to the ground, something i've always wanted at a football game. Still they're pretty pictures too look at but anyone that can remember pirelli knows that pretty pictures and a good idea doesn't make a stadium. Oh and nice to see Matt Le Mental (when's he getting his day on the undateables anyway?) back on form with his propoganda
  24. Premier league football is dead already, can honestly say i've not felt so disenfranchised with the sport in a long, long time. In fact higher price or not i'm seriously doubting i'll bother with a season ticket next season as it's so bland, boring, sanitised and dull. Probably stick to cricket for days out on the **** with my mates instead. Sky killed it years ago by making it an "entertainment business", foreign billionaires stuck the knife in by buying leagues and hoarding players and computer games like championship manager/fantasy football robbed the soul and turned it into a spreadsheet, making fans more interested in stats than the day out with their mates, the culture of the terraces or the game itself.
  25. Fancy dress amongst adults is hilarious and anyone not wearing a full replica kit is a violent thug. Alcohol at football is a thing of the devil and we should all be tea total and clap the oppositions jolly good play.
