I doubt it it, but then that post is from someone who said in another thread they love the prem and only started supporting saints in '03, so it's probably the worst kind of new fan.

Brilliant post

I've already told a couple of plastic gooners asking for tickets in the home end where to go

To be fair i think going to down the leagues helped with our terrace culture a bit, in league one we were definitely getting it back again but as you'd expect now we've gone back to the premiership it's a noticeable minority, although you do find that there's a few pubs that are more inclined to terrace culture than others (the alex definitely has it's own character these days). Also away games at the less fashionable places always have a good chunk of that support - i'm thinking Millwall away for example - so it does exist.

Given the state of my shins after the reading game i'd definitely agree that the current option is far less safe.

Same thoughts as before, he's a good manager, the right person for the club and i fully support him. I think he's bought himself time with cortese but knows that he's on thin ice and has probably only kept the wolves from the door rather than changed the mindset wholesale

Agreed mate, i'll hold my hands up on this one and say i got it wrong. He's been quality in recent weeks and looks like he's properly found his place.

One more thing to add here though can the idiot that keeps singing chelsea songs in the Northam please shut the fu.ck up! One man went to mow is and always has been a chelsea song, it's not funny, it's not ours and you sound like a din. Thanks

I've had my season ticket in block 42 since the start of st marys, having moved from the archers (via the milton) and in my opinion the big difference is the increase in people buying single tickets. There are far more "lads" with their girlfriends at the front of block 42 than there used to be. Also there's a lot more kids dressed as green street extras who seem to be more interested in pointing at their mates at the back. Kingsland is good these days but if maybe they/the northam listen a bit more it'd be better in general. I've noticed a lot that we don't take our lead from each other and join their songs. On a couple of points yesterday both block 42 and the kingsland were singing different songs at the same time. As for wit, with block 42 being closer the away fans it's more responsive and humorous, but the problem with the kingsland is they don't hear it/or react slowly as they're further away so the spontaneous chants get drowned out. All in my view of course. Oh and as an aside what was all the run away stuff about yesterday? Heard people singing it a few times at the back of the northam.

Looks like they disagree with our thoughts http://hobnob.royals.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=116491 clearly they're not a massive group of plastics that support two teams and sit in silence. Also what saints fan would ever say they're one of the noisiest and most dedicated away supports!? That's just pure boll.ocks, 800 away at watford whilst chasing promotion is skates level of sh.it support.
-
I stand just next to the away fans and they were the most pathetic silent bunch I've seen in years. They really are the Wigan of the south and a noddy club through and through. Would much rather see a proper team like Leeds or Sheffield Wednesday up in their place

The premier league is too expensive/uncompetitive and games can be seen for free. Add to that it's sanitised to **** and hyped beyond belief and most people i know are sick to death of it.

Stoke (A) Tickets On Sale From Thursday. Nicely Priced As Well
ericb replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
Looking forward to this one, £25 is a decent price too, should be a good day out -
That's class! I mean very stalkery but class. Plus we have the added bonus that we'll probably sing it better live than the singer who sung it in the first place
-
Ah a geek, who'd have thought they'd exist on the internet?
-
best one for me was the air florida/rank xerox, the worst was the horrible blue "flames" kit around '91 i think.
-
what a terrible blog post and an even worse picture to accompany, shame as your blogs are normally pretty decent
-
Could it also be that some people enjoy football as a sport/day out on the **** rather than as statistical co.ck waving bullsh.it, or spreadsheets masquerading as computer games, that so many of the semi retarded world of warcraft playing geeks in their full kits like?
-
Probably the same reason other things haven't been paid that have been charged to the club... of course no one knows the reason, and i'm sure in a couple of years or less it won't all be clear. Yup all is fine and dandy behind the doors at SFC
-
Yeah definitely a skate, i mean only a skate would have a season ticket, go to away games, drink in well known saints pubs and absolutely love the club. You really are a proper dic.k if you think he is, the lad gives a massive sh.it about the club and is sticking his neck out on many things (with a risk of losing out as a result) so people like us are informed. This place really is depressing reading at times, how you can get so many head in the sand fuc.kwits in one place truly baffles me.
-
Yup and more of a regular attender at games than many on here that slate him. But still don't let facts get in the way of a good old mong board "fact"
-
There is one that will get more levels of hatred than even redknapp for me. Mr Ian Branfoot - Hope you die soon (bet you don't)

On the pitch has been good of course, but is that Cortese or us outspending other teams in the league? As for why? Well except for the appalling working conditions that many of the staff are under, the treatment of the local press and the enemies that are being made in the rest of the football community... maybe it could also be about the fact that we have no real idea about the finances of the club and a very hard rumour going round is that we're being run at a significant loss and not being backed anymore. Of course you can (and will) deny that, which is your prerogative, but i'd rather question these things and not act like a skate with his head buried deep in a fish.

Wilfred Zaha - Crystal Palace (linked in The Sun)
ericb replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Not even the worst for us, but i'm guessing you're too young to remember Lee Todd, Dixon/Speedie (for us), Frankie Bennet (i could go on). Still hyperbole about the latest whipping boy is always fun right? -
Or they just give a sh.it about the club and don't want to see us turning into the blind eyed sycophants that the skates were? And maybe they don't just respect their sources but are friends with them and don't want to get them in trouble? And maybe, just maybe the fact these stories have been doing the rounds for so long they actually hold some truth? Mind you you could always believe a press statement from someone that's in the center of the allegations, though me i tend to think you always question the source otherwise you'd believe there weren't any tanks in Baghdad...
