You've done it now, he'll have the best sub appearance of any player ever.

Was close to putting an insurance bet on Stoke progressing at half time. I didn't but I hope I don't love to regret it, I could use the money. Watching the City vs Newcastle game. City have put a strong side out but look quite poor.
-
Because it's too much or too little? I think he's a good goalscorer, improving all the time, and £10 million in today's market is a decent price. He's tall too. As long as we don't play him in goal...

Uncle Ron Koeman? So my mum was knobbing Erwin?

Only 4 now. Koeman survives for another week. Gotta thank United for that. -

We're currently 6 points behind Chelsea in the live table. We need to buck our ideas up if we're going to challenge for the title. -
Just back from Norfolk purgatory. I couldn't follow the game but of course watched the highlights on MOTD. It seems Stoke pushed us but without any real cutting edge, I think the cup game on Wednesday could be a lot more open with a few changes to the line ups. What a goal by Mané! Very instinctive finish, positive for the future. 2nd in the league! People may point that we haven't played any big boys yet, but you can only play and beat what's in front of you. Long may this feeling last.

Luke is doing a lot of running. Someone put a Nandos advertising hoarding to the right of the Chelsea goal? :-)

I'm going with a bit of the old Saints pessimism here, years of disappointment ingrained upon my psyche. I hope we do better than this, and that the bubble doesn't burst. Hull City v Southampton 1-1 Southampton v Leicester 2-0 Villa v Southampton 1-1 Southampton v Man City 0-2 Arsenal v Southampton 2-1 Southampton v Man U 1-1 Burnley v Southampton 0-2 Southampton v Everton 0-0 Crystal Palace v Southampton 1-1 11 points, still pretty good and I thought I was being tight! 30 points, a decent platform for January.

Ok it's been touched on before, but I thought I'd post this to gauge opinions. Of course we all want to beat Stoke twice this week. And we hope it happens. But, hypothetically, next Thursday comes and we've won one and lost one. So which game would you rather us win? League or cup? For me, I'd like us to keep up the pressure in the league, so 3 points please, in the hope we can make a dent in the FA Cup instead.

I like him. Reminds me of a cheap Tesco clothing range where all my coolest threads come from.
-
Typical, Shawcross and Begovic are the two Stokies I have in my dream team. Lovely. (And briefly Bojan until I realised Crouch was the favourite striker.) Stoke will be a damn sight tougher than Sunderland but it's nice to dream.

Rewatched MOTD. That is Manés goal all day long. Ridiculous decision from the dubious goals panel. Still, maybe it'll fire Mané up to score more. Ostenstadt's third against United still rankles. I still think he should've had a hat trick in the 6-3.
-
To be fair it must be one of the easier decisions for the panel to make! http://www.leaguemanagers.com/news/news-7454.html?

Just watched the MOTD highlights again. (I've told the wife never to delete it from the Sky Planner.) Pearce says our last biggest win in the Premier League "was against the grey shirts of Man Utd". Is it just me that bothers? -
Are we sure that she's his type?

I'm not overly surprised at the TOTW. Ours was largely a great team performance with Tadic the obvious standout. On another week perhaps he'd have put Pellè in there but otherwise this is just one idiots opinion from a media perspective which have a bent for the top 4/6.
-
...was the best? There were no worldies, like Pellès against QPR, just good solid team goals. While I liked the move for Wanyamas, I do think I like Pellès instinctive effort for his second. You?
-
Got to keep the same line up, surely? Wanyama and Mané are the debatables, but I'd rather start Long over Mané against a tough Stoke side. 2-1 win though.

Was out for my birthday drinks last night. Fortunately I chose a pub which had Final Score on the telly, and I watched in disbelief as the goals just kept going in. Oddly my brother-in-law predicted 8-0 when we were 5-0 up. Should have put some money on that! Wonderful win, wonderful feel good factor. I don't care if we lose to the big boys later in the season, as long as we keep beating the teams we should be beating. -

I refuse to admit I had a few quid on this match ending as a draw... -

Delighted with this. I think the players really respect him and he seems to give his all every game. A wonderful signing.
