  1. I think we should trump them and sign Justin Bieber. I'm not sure how good a footballer he is, but he can't be much worse than Anthony Pulis..... can he?
  2. I'd use the wet shave on them, but my Parkinsons makes it dangerous... :-D
  3. No armpit hair. *****es need to be groomed, the younger they are when they achieve this the better. I'd even groom the young ladies myself if it means starting them off in life correctly. Having read that line again, I believe it could be misconstrued...
  4. Still too early to tell IMO. As it stands though, our strongest team is: Boruc, Clyne, Lovren, Jos, Shaw, Morgan, Wanyama, Davis, Ramirez, JRod, Lambert. Whether that's what happens depends on illness, injury, how far they are into pre-season and of course transfers, both incoming and outgoing. To conclude with my first statement, it's still too early to tell.
  5. I'll say one hing about the Caulker deal - Cardiff didn't hang about with that! News only filtered through about it this morning and he was signed by six pm. Swift stuff from Cardiff - must've been concerned they'd be trumped at the 11th hour.
  6. I thought he won the "SWF ITK of the year" award? Non?
  7. I can't see Millwall getting relegated. They've made some solid signings. Scott McDonald will score goals, Jermaine Easter will get a few too, and they've also signed Chaplow, Nicky Bailey, Lee Martin, Stephen Bywater and Steve Morison. Lomas is doing good things down there, I have them as a sneaky tip to make the play-offs. I'd also take 9th if offered now, pending us giving both cups a bloody good go.
  8. I'd have thought our biggest Villan was Steven Davis. :-)
  9. Surprised. Thought he'd go to either West Brom or even back to Swansea. I think he'd be good for us, and I know we run out the "his brother plays in our academy" line, but it's true, and you'd think he'd want to aid his development. We needs to get Jake to have words with his big bro, and fast!
  10. Because they pulled off that last day freak away win against City. Without that, a game I'd have happily bet on them losing (and would have lost of course), we'd have finished above them. Albeit on goal difference. With about 10 more goals scored. Norwich started well but faded as the season went on. We started badly and got better. I still think our last few games should have brought more points though.
  11. Norwich needed to make the signings because they had a poor team last season. I watched a few of their games, and the standard of football was awful - in some matches it seemed like they were playing for set pieces in the hope they could get goals from them. Their away win on the last day of the season at City was a freak. Hughton is an OK manager but IMO he's not the person they need to push on to the next level. The signings they've made have been solid, but they needed to be made. I can see Norwich pushing for top ten next season but not for top 4. My in-laws are all Norwich fans (as is the wife) and none of them truly have faith in Hughton. With all these signings they've made, a poor start will see him gone. It's irrelevant how Norwich are doing though as to how we're doing. We needed to strengthen a few positions and we've started out doing that. I don't for a second think our transfer business is done for the summer, the club would be foolish not to keep looking, and we need to make one or two attacking signings yet. I wait with anticipation for the close of the window on September 2nd. Then I'll properly judge how our summer has gone. If we don't sign anyone else, I'll be as concerned as others. But we do have plenty of time yet to sign players.
  12. I'm quite pleased the wife doesn't use my computer - anyone know how I can get rid of the adverts for Match.com? :-D
  13. Oh absolutely, but we'd need more than one signing to be more than fine. As long as we're creating chances I'd trust Lambert and Rodriguez to convert some of them, so a new attacking midfielder (or winger even) would be my choice if we only had one signing. At the back we have Jos, Jose, Dejan, Maya and even Stephens and Turnbull if absolutely necessary. We'd muddle through (at least until January) in both positions if we HAD to. (To stick religiously to Alps question though, I'd vote for a striker.) Not that I think we will rest on our laurels with one signing - I firmly believe (or it could be blind optimism) that we'll have another striker, winger and defender in before August is out.
  14. I'm a born and bred Berk. Born in Ascot, raised in Windsor and still live in the area. I support Saints due to the influence of a Royal Holloway student whom lodged in my parents spare room when I was 8ish. He was a mad Saints fan and told me a lot about the history. When I hit middle school, everyone had a team, and so I adopted Saints into my heart.
  15. Neither. We'd be fine for both. If we could only sign one more player then it'd be a creative attacking midfielder/winger. All views imo.
  16. If Celtic keep selling their "jewels", isn't there a very real possibility that both of the old firm clubs lose their grip on dominating Scottish football? Or are Celtic rich enough thanks to things like the Champions League to sustain it?
  17. Luke Shaw. He'll have a few poor games and people will suddenly forget he's only 18 and in (technically) his first full season.
  18. I thought he was destined for West Ham...
  19. Funnily enough I did watch a Faces Of Death video when I was about 17. Scared the life out of me. I've found out since most of it was faked. Still it freaked me out at the time.
  20. Lots of warnings here, to cover my arse mainly, but the following link is not for the faint hearted or for children. The pictures are of gruesome events of real life, such as car crashes and things, and could give you nightmares for weeks. Honestly don't look if you are in any doubt at all as to what follows. There, that should cover me. :-) Mods feel free to delete if I haven't added enough warnings. I'm not quite sure how I stumbled on this forum but here's the link. It's basically a Faces Of Death-type thing where people post pictures of real life grossness. Enjoy, or regret clinking on the link. Mwahahahahahahahahaha! http://www.documentingreality.com/forum/ EDIT: Just realised there are only limited views before the American site tries to get you to buy membership, and what moron would pay to use an internet forum? :-D So choose your pictures carefully!
  21. Great in League One, Good in the Championship, average in the Premier League. I love Lallana, I think he's a talented player, still fairly young and can get better, and he's done a lot for us in the lower leagues, but he's not shown much in the Prem so far to suggest he's a first choice creative midfielder. He's a great choice to have in the squad though - perhaps getting rid of the captaincy would help him.
  22. Of course we'll never win the league - we're Southampton, notorious for shooting ourselves in the foot when things start going right! Seriously, before I read it already this thread, I immediately thought of the Man City argument - just a few years ago they were a nothing team fighting it out in the lower leagues. Anyone can win the league with the right financial backing. Sadly if anyone but the big six or seven won the league, it would most likely be deemed a freak occurence that would never happen again.
  23. Perfect. No longer will my wife have a sore arsehole when we have sex. (Because of the giant balls slapping against it, not because I took her up the wrong'un.)
  24. SNSUN

    New RB?

He'd be a good signing if true. Can play both full back positions and only 24.
  25. I know, I was struggling to think of any. Umm, Wayne Bridge. :-)
