  1. Is that the same Halfredsson that was a youngster at Spurs? If so he used to do me a decent job on FM2006 for Saints when he was usually released at the end of the first season. There, that's my knowledge of him!
  2. Well I was so concerned I chopped the big bugger off. Hasn't happened since.
  3. I reckon he has posters torn. Mind you those who have him on ignore will be baffled by this thread.
  4. Something about you. There, I said it. Ok... I was once so busting for a wee that went I went it gave me painful stomach cramps for two days. Don't hold it in kids.
  5. The last poster on 10, that's TEN, threads on the first page of the main board. Surely that's deserving of some kind of award?
  6. That front row look like they're collectively trying to curl out a fresh brown biscuit. Can they not afford seats or benches? Still a good OP.
  7. Without even reading your post, this is the first song that popped into my head too on reading his name! A winger though - sweet.
  8. £9 million is a lot for a 30 year old if thats true, with very limited resale value. Other than that I dont know much about him.
  9. I didnt see the U20 w/c. If he impressed, that's a shame, from the facts and stats about him we'd be a good fit. We already have a young Uruguayan on our books, he himself is only 20, an attacking player, and his Nacional stats are good - http://espnfc.com/player/_/id/158613/gonzalo-bueno?cc=5739 Last linked well over a month ago though http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2336569/Southampton-close-signing-Gonzalo-El-Zorro-Bueno.html and a good article on the "wonderkid" http://footballwonderkidscout.co.uk/#/wonderkid-of-the-month-gonza/4562740789 Sounds good to me! Could be a surprise in the Premier League next season and fulfils the need for a winger.
  10. Back on Saints transfer radar I mean. Mind you I suppose Paulinho and Neymar have had busy summers and still signed for different teams. Dum de dum...
  11. Bueno should be back on the radar after the U20 World Cup finished...

    Lukaku

I'm a fan of Lukaku but I dont see any 's on people sucking his manpole. Hes a player still 6/7 years from his peak, hes big and powerful, hes a proven goalscorer in the Premier League. Plus a couple of times last season that I saw him play he was conjouring stuff out of nothing. Im not saying he's the finished article, and out of him or Benteke I'd perhaps still plump for Benteke (even though he's not the finished article either) but he'd still be a cracking signing. We wont get him though, even if he were available I'd see a bigger side after him.

You sure theyre not after Rupert Lowe as Director of Football? :-)

A wasted horses head then? :-)

    Lukaku

Well that's a wasted phone call. Still, the 1% chance we have of pulling off this signing will be fun to cling to until deadline day.
  16. The Hammond that's still on our books? Not sold. Yet.
  17. It's fact. The Celtic fans say so and they're used to seeing cabers.
  18. It doesn't scan. It's also a little bit ghey. I can't see the Northam going for it.
  19. I normally agree with MLG, and while I do agree we're looking for the next class of striker up, I'd be more than content with Hooper being our only striker signing this window. I'd rather pay the bigger money for a winger/attacking midfielder and smaller amounts for a striker than the other way around. Any goalscorer, which Hooper clearly is, would be a welcome addition and at the prices being bandied around, anywhere up to £6 million, would be a reasonably good punt on Hooper. You think I may jest but for that reason also I would take a punt on Bent. Even at his age he's a proven goalscorer, and if he was available at a reasonable transfer fee and wage (although I'm not sure whether his wage would put teams off) I think he'd be worth a punt too. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we'll go for either, and as MLG says we'll sign a striker that will make us go "wow", just that I would be perfectly happy if we brought either of these two in instead.
  20. I hope they wipe the pussy juices off the dugout seats before the team next uses them. (Award for rudest, most childish post of the thread goes to...)
  21. It'll be interesting to keep an eye on Fulham's transfers now. With more money behind them, which I'll assume Jol will be given some of, they'll be looking to make a statement of intent in the transfer market.
  22. I'd crap on the Fratton Park pitch in retaliation but they'd probably be thankful for the free fertiliser.
