  1. Yet we got Jack Cork for £750k, a bargain and one of the signings of the summer. Not all good players cost millions - and I think we'd struggle to find someone of his quality for that money again. Someone else said it - if we only sign Jos, Falque and Lee, I'll be happy with that, but I don't think we've seen the end of business yet.
  2. Real or not, I'm getting excited.
  3. Interesting comment on there... Rammsteiner wrote: Bye bye Hooper. We all know he doesn't fit in at Celtic. Look how uncomfortable he was in November in the Press Conference when asked about the UEFA probe into the Celtic songsheet. He couldn't bring himself to defend the self-titled TGFITW (self praise is no praise) and looked like he was running off to be sick just thinking about their 'hymns'. He also wants to play for GREAT BRITAIN in the Olympics - that won't go down well at C.P. Either would be a marquee signing fo sho.
  4. The job I aspire to do.
  5. I was proved wrong. I asked her when she came in, and for someone that watches our games, she did struggle. She got Kelvin Davis, but when I asked her who our back up keeper was, she just laughed and called him 'butterfingers'. (She was there at SMS vs Blackpool.) She listed Dan Harding as our right back (which is more accurate at present than she even realises) but couldn't name a left back or another right back. She got Jose Fonte but while she knew Hooiveld, she couldn't remember the name, and went for Ruddy Jaidi instead. In midfield she got Morgan Schneiderling, Richard Chaplow, Adam Lallana, Guly and Steve De Ridder (surprisingly), and up front she got Connolly, Lambert and Barnard. The one she got that I really didn't expect was Puncheon. All in all you could put a first team together of the players she knows, but the defence would be terrible.
  6. lol, but nice try Phil!
  7. Boro have the players, Cardiff have the team spirit, Birmingham and Reading have the momentum. We could all be top 6, but I wouldn't exclude Blackpool, who have some good players. Still, play-offs at the very least will still be a good season for us, but I do think with the injuries and Lambert coming back we'll have the team to get an auto spot. ...oh, and is it too early to lol at Leicester? Transfer deadline day could be interesting up there.
  8. This guy is supposed to be class. Shame it's not a loan with a view to a permanent, but I reckon if he succeeds here then Cortese could sort it! Redknapp doing us a favour? Seems weird. Must've signed for Spurs under the radar though, because I can't find a lot on him making his move to Spurs permanent. At one point in the article, it says he's on the books of Juventus, then towards the bottom it says he's signed for Spurs full time. I hope we haven't done a dodgy Redknapp deal with the devil himself and will get rollocked for it.
  9. One of many. Keep 'em coming.
  10. lol@thesweatyforhistinypenissyndrome Neil Lennon's a cheesy wotsit.
  11. Moving on. Billy Sharp then?
  12. My missus comes with me to Saints games on occassion, (despite being a Norwich fan), so knows our players. Her favourite current player is Richard Chaplow, before that it was Michail Antonio. I'm assuming she likes them for their delightful attacking flair, rather than the way they look.
  13. I know quite a few plastic Reading fans that have only recently jumped on the bandwagon (despite not even living or coming from Reading) that will attend the odd home game and that's it. As per the stats above, I applaud Oxford United, and am surprised and confused by Watford.
  14. Mickey Evans. Came from the lower leagues, scored a few goals that kept us up, won Premiership player of the month, then disappeared back again.
  15. Our record for signing players with big transfer fees isn't exactly good. Delap, Delgado, Prutton. Let's hope if we do blow our load on Hooper or whoever, he really is worth it. I see Stoke want to tie Delap to a new 3 year contract, taking him up to age 38!
  16. Dyer has had a cracking game. Good little player. Oxo on now too.
  17. He'd have done exactly the same as Martin tbf!
  18. "Oi, Gools, which hand do you spank your meat with?"
  19. A win is of vital importance to keep the promotion hunt going. I don't care much if West Ham nick the top spot, either of the top two positions get you promoted. With Boro and Cardiff dropping points, we need to hope our dodgy form is a thing of the past to keep picking up points. We've proved the squad players CAN win of needed in the last two games - now let's get the rest fit, and the new signings gelling, and make our way to the Premier League!
  20. According to Wikipedia, De Bruyne's mother was born in Ealing. Takes all sorts.
  21. It truly is a mystery! = no-one. (I hope to be proved muchly wrong. And Tadanari doesn't count right?) Marcello Trotta is a good shout. Even with Tadanari (who's 26), we don't have a young, up and coming decent striker. (as Connoly, Barnard, Lambert, Guly and Lee are all older than 26.)
  22. Ummm, it turns out the team I dreamt about in yellow wininng 6-0 wasn't Saints after all...
  23. I won't vote, because as I've stated not being at the game and voting is propah nawty, but it looked like Cork was involved in everything good. Morgan scores so irregularly though, that he deserves an honourable mention. S. Cotterill though... without his crudness we may have lost this. (Some funny comments on the NF forum too!)
  24. Ipswich's defense? My old mate Sue, aka 'Sue The Slag' has a tighter rearguard action than them.
