    Shooting

Morgan was close last night tbf, and I'm sure that's 'cos the ground was yelling 'shooooooooooooot!'
  4. Maybe a sneaky early signing up their sleeve? Hope not.
  5. I love how West Ham fans on KUMB talk as if promotion is not only a dead certainty but how they should concentrate on building a team for the Premiership! Umm.... get promoted first guys!
  6. I think it didn't help that the strikers struggled to keep up with him. If De Ridder is going to get games, it highlights the need for a pacy forward to be brought in. That said IF a pacy forward gets brought in, it's most likely De Ridder that will lose his spot. Swings and roundabouts. At least we know who our bogey team are now.
  7. Now home. I was going to start a Steve De Ridder thread but I won't, however he was fantastic tonight - easily our best attacking player, and he looked very dangerous running at the Brizzle defence. He got stuck in too, and I disagree with Adkins - the boy can cross. Not as well as Frazer, granted, but his crosses were still good tonight. I would still look to sign a winger in January (left or right sided), but if De Ridder can keep up this level of performance then he'll be a big asset in the last half of the season. Worst Saints player on the night was unfortunately Adam. I'm a massive fan of his but nothing came off for him, even in the first half when he had the chance to strike on goal he looked to pass it - that's not the Adam of earlier in the season/last season. While it's bloody hard to drop a player of Adam's talent, it does look like he should sit a game or two out to gain some rest, BUT there's the question of who could come in to replace him. When Holmes came on he was playing right back (most baffling), but perhaps he could get a run on the left wing for a bit? Or do we simply play Adam until he plays himself into form? As I said earlier the transfer window has come at the right time, but Nigel cannot procrastinate - it's a busy month and we need reinforcements sooner rather than later. The players we have have done admirably so far this season, but fatigue is surely settling in. Freshening it up will make for a strong end to the season.
  8. Now parked up and waiting for the traffic to disperse. Shame the home run is over but I stayed to clap the guys at the end, it's still been a magnificent year. Tonight was fairly even but Bristol City took their chance. Steve and Morgan were our best players on the night, Guly and Adam were poor tonight. Fraser the better of the full backs, Martin was fairly solid.Quite simply, the window has come at just the right time.
  9. Driving down M3 was bloody tricky, stopped in Winchester services for a coffee, came out and it had stopped.
  10. So you're saying your Mars Bar is safe? I concur. Top quality striker but will require a big pay cheque.
  11. ANother reason why a surprise promotion this season is paramount. Keeping our talented youngsters would be easier to do in the Prem.
  12. Double swoop for Maynard and Adomah, with Puncheon going the other way. When this is proved true, I want you all to buy me a Mars Bar.
  13. Bart muffing up the winning run against Blackpool - I've only managed to get to three games this season, and I was unfortunate enough to witness that. And in the same game, Lambert heading the equaliser in injury time to send me into perhaps the biggest celebration I've ever done at SMS.
  14. Giving up on signing Jack Cork after a MASSIVE delay but being overjoyed when it was finally announced.
  15. OR...... We sign nobody and get promoted as Champions with what we have! (ALthough I'm not sure that a: My heart could cope with this scenario or b: My heart could cope with the reaction on here on February 1st at not signing anyone!)
  16. Apparently Blackburn want Sordell too. We'll have to get used to either trying to fight for these players with others, and hope our package and set up is more attractive, or go off piste and look for players that aren't in mainstream English football. West Ham are desperate for promotion. (As are Leicester but they need to pull out something special). I wouldn't put it past them spending more money than most Premiership clubs this January. Let's just hope whatever we do we don't get toooooooooo frivolous with the money and potentially end up back in a situation akin to the one we were in 3 years ago, and that we conduct ourselves in a manner that other clubs respect.
  17. My missus got two Norwich ducks. She's 27 and loves them. (Mental age of about 13 I reckon.) Her mum said it was to counteract all the Saints stuff I have in our house - there's not a lot of Norwich stuff in here! (So far I've been lucky.)
  18. With Hooiveld signing permanently, we definitely have the centre backs we need in place for this season. Fonte and Jos are going from strength to strength, and with Martin as a back up, and not forgetting Seaborne when he's fit and even Harlee Dean (who's been getting rave reports on loan), we're quite strong in this department. If we go up? Yes, sign a new CB in the summer, but I'm very pleased with what we have. It aLso seems that Jos and Jose like playing with each other too, which is inmportant.
  19. I love a good poo when it's massive and you really have to force it out, makes you feel like you earned it. Sometimes I sit on the loo expecting to crap one out, and let out a massive fart. Being cheated by my own bowels. I once put my finger through the bog paper when wiping and got poo on it. I'm never buying own brand again.
  20. Some nostalgic links there.
  21. The smell of the grass on the pitch at SMS after the last game of last season. Forever more, that is what promotion will smell like to me. Being top of the league, having just been promoted, for most of the season. For breaking more records than Robert Wadlow.
  22. Good news. Everyone's on the bus, but we have three empty seats.
  23. I got one of those fecking dancing animal things from my mother wuth moving parts and it sings a song. Ok as a novelty present and one off, but my mum seems to get me them every fecking year. I also got a hat with built in headphones that can be plugged into an iPod. Sounds great, but it looks ridiculous, the headphones are too high for the ears, and I don't even have an iPod. Juggling Balls. The same golf set that I got last year. I don't play golf, and even if I did, I'd use last years set. ,...and yes, all these presents came from my mother. Seems her senility is creeping in.
  24. We're aiming for the Premiership, with potentially the chance to get there next season. If that happens, I'm afraid sentimentality doesn't come into it - quite simply it's out with the old and in with the new. Forte will be swiftly forgotten, but his name will always have it's place in Saints history - for the two goals that we believe played a big part in us getting promoted from League One.
  25. Wasn't able to follow the game today but been reading a few tinternet reports and it sounds like we were impressive. Good stuff, I hope it doesn't paper over the cracks of needing new players in January, but I see Adkins did say he was looking to strengthen. On to the Bristol game which I will be at. Yay.
