  1. Guly's farts smell like warm treacle sponge.
  2. Alphabetically, is this the highest we've ever started a league?
  3. Worth a punt - we'd have nothing Toulouse.
  4. Sczeczny (There may be an "H" in there somewhere) has really F"cked things up for me...
  5. Where I am it's chucked it down every day for the last week except Saturday, thank God, as it was my wedding day. Very lucky. However you're right, it's June, and we should be having sunshine!
  6. ...I probably shouldn't have spilled my pint down her dress. (It can be cleaned...) ...I probably shouldn't have spent so much time flirting with her friend's sister. (I think I largely got away with that...) ... I probably shouldn't have drunkenly told my brand new wife on Saturday evening that I'd just made a terrible mistake marrying her. (Sorted now...) Meh, a lifetime of happiness awaits me!
  7. Also, just because we ARE Southampton, we CAN'T do what we want, as in the real world there are rules and regulations to abide by. Southampton once had a player that injured himself with the salad cream bottle. The player? It had to be Dave Beasant. The salad cream? It has to be Heinz.
  8. It appears that way, but when you go through half of a season with Guly up front, you know you need strikers. Don't get me wrong, Guly did a good job in a position unfamiliar to him, but we really needed another out and out striker signing in the summer. Fortunatley Lee and Sharp were signed and both propelled us to the Premier League. I'm pleased with Rodriguez, he's obviously a talent as most Under 21 International players are. Now we need to make sure he finishes that transition from wonderkid to outstanding footballer for years to come. My only concern is he won't settle down here, and will soon want to be back up closer to his hometown, but we'll see. Sharp, Lambert, Rodriguez and Lee. Surely that's the striking department sorted for this summer?
  9. Head: Good experience, international keeper, has improved, we'd have arguably the two best keepers from the nPC last year, Premiership experience, only 32. Heart: My least favourite link of the summer, no thanks. Rather have a young/youngish keeper come in. I wouldn't be devastated though. He'd be a very good free transfer on the face of it.
  10. I've just bought a couple of nice new suits from M and S. Both (and my other one) will be utilised next season as I'm sat alongside Mr Cortese sipping Champagne and eating the prawn sandwiches.
  11. According to the weather, there'll be a storm over Southampton between 2 and 3pm today. (Thursday) This is fate, it will be announced then. I may be wrong...
  12. Saints have too much fan power to let the powers that be change our kit to blue. We stopped Hoddle coming back, we stopped St Mary's being called The Friends Provident Stadium and we got rid of the first Ted Bates statue.
  13. I tried it a few times as a youngster and it made me paranoid and sleepy. It did not agree with me, so I stopped doing it. Now I'm in a job with a zero tolerance drugs and alcohol rule. That means I cannot start a shift with anything at all in my system. Now I can control the alcohol, that's up to me, but it's very easy to have traces of cannabis in my system if I have been around people that smoke it, and it's on the rise in public. If it gets legalised, more people would do it in public and I'd have to be very careful where I go or what I do. I'd not look forward to that. Plus it stinks.
  14. My mum once lost my sister in Slough in the mid-80's when she was about 3. They had a trolley full of shopping and left me (aged 5 and as good as gold) to look after it in the car park while my mum and dad freaked out and began running around Slough. I don't know how long they'd gone for but it seemed like hours to me. They found her, an honest shopper had discovered her wandering around on her own and had held on to her while they listened to music from a band that was playing in the shopping centre. Nowadays my mum is borderline senile, but back then it was just a momentary lapse in concentration. Had it been this day and age, I doubt my parents, or indeed my sister, would have been so lucky.
  15. The new name for the League Cup. So our two cup competitions are the F*ck Up and the C*ck Up. Tee hee.
  16. The Adkins regime would get him fit...
  17. Jagielka's gone from thinking he could've had a lovey summer holiday to potentially being in England's starting XI in the space of a week!
  18. Wrong England thread...
  19. Two 1-0 wins under Roy. 6 more of those and we've win the Euros. :-)
  20. I think it's a good idea to take Butland to the Euros, more so than had we taken Ruddy. It gives him the experience of being at a major competition, especially as he'll be in the England set up for years to come. We did it with Ferdinand, we did it with Walcott. Besides which, how often is it for a nation's third keeper to be selected to play? Very rare. Had we not had a cemented first choice keeper, I reckon perhaps we'd have picked a more experienced third choice keeper, but thankfully we have Hart, so the other two will barely get a look in anyway, bar injuries and suspensions to Hart. In the argument of Davis or Butland, I'd say Butland. Davis or Green would be a closer argument...
  21. Did Alan Blayney get a NI cap whilst here?
  22. Joined Aston Villa. I'm not surprised, on one hand I can't blame him for trying his hand at a "bigger" club, and he did wonders for Norwich, but I feel a bit sad for Norwich fans, similar to what we'd feel if we lost Adkins after what he's achieved. Aston Villa will be a force again though, he's a quality manager with an eye for a signing. Norwich? It depends who they get in, but with Holt revolting, they could struggle...
  23. Me and the missus have set meals that we always have, but not on set days. For example whenever we do the food shop, that day we'll have pasta bolognase bake, and the following day we'll have fajitas. When younger we had Fish and Chip day on the Friday, Roast Day on the Sunday, and Monday pie day on the... Monday. (Using all the extra meat from Sunday.)
  24. I have to feed twelve young'uns, four dogs and three hookers. Money is tight. :-)
