He didn't make an impact here, but then it was very hard for any player to make an impact here judging by how shyte we were for the last couple of seasons. Seemingly he's turned his life around and all credit to him, but I'd rather set our sights elsewhere. Still, as has been said, in Pards we trust.

re: Reo-Coker, I think it's a fair statement of intent to have players of his calibre touted around. Ok, we all doubt we could obtain a Reo-Coker, but we have the finances, it'd fantastic to stun the football world and bring in a quality player or two. (Although if this does happen I'd be suprised if it happened in January and not at the end of the season). I'd personally like us to nick a Portsmouth player, just to wind them up a bit, mind you, have they got anyone worth having...

Should we rest all the key players in the FAC?
SNSUN replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
Would you call it resting players, or giving the squad players a chance to shine? Do we want to look like ****s on 3rd round day? No. The Luton game is a chance for Lallana, Lambert and Connolly to find some form again. It's up to Pardew though, of that much I'm sure. -
Losng our last game before the transfer window a blessing in disguise?
SNSUN replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
We must have some money to spend in January, but not to throw around willy nilly. If the right player is available for a reasonable fee, sign them up. New loans can be as effective as new signings... -
I'd be suprised if Chelsea let us keep Mellis, we haven't used him much of late, and I'm sure Chelsea would rather see him get regular first team football. Waigo's a season loan anyway, which saves the worrying. Antonio hasn't been great, but I still think we should keep him, I doubt Reading would want him back, and he can be effective from the subs bench.

Colchester was always going to be a tough place to go. Moving on, a nice break now with the FA Cup, and the excitement of a transfer window for Pardew to strengthen - and not in a hurry like at the beginning of the season. By the end of January, we'll be better placed to judge how the season will pan out, both in terms of squad strength and January results. I'm looking forward to it.

Amen to the transfer window then.

As nicknames go, this is cruel. ;-)

Winning goals for Bournemouth and Charlton and my £300 accumulator comes in.

"No" then. :-D

Last game of the year sums our year up! 2010 can't be worse. Can it?

I like the line up, suprised he's dropped Perry; Connolly and Waigo would have an effect off the bench. We can win this! Fingers crossed, wood touched.

John-Joe O'Toole was an excellent capture in League One, and it shows how important it can be to have a manager with contacts. Pardew has these, so I'm looking forward to the next few years.

We need a win to keep the play-off push going, but Colchester are in a great run of their own. I'd very happily take a draw here. 1-1.

Can we have a Papa Waigo vs Antonio poll please Mods?
SNSUN replied to mynameisthehulk's topic in The Saints
Papa Waigo - has a touch of class, a finishing touch and scares defenders. He has cons, such as running offside too often, and can fade out of games when things aren't going his way. You CAN see why he was playing in Serie A though, to an extent. Antonio - for someone playing in non-league not so long ago, this isn't a fair comparison. Waigo is clearly the better player, but Antonio has his plus points too. He's fast, you can't deny him that, and though he is a one trick pony, he does have success with that particlar trick, though not all the time. On the times I've seen him play this season, I've not been too impressed, however against Exeter he was working hard for things to come off. His cross isn't bad, his throw ins are a threat. Waigo would be in my starting XI, Antonio on the bench, though I would try to keep Antonio for the second half of the season. -
I'm one of the so-called floaters, I can't make every game but try to make it down to St Mary's when I can. The next game I can make is the Huddersfield match, though it falls on my girlfriend's birthday, so I've got some presents to buy her to be able to make it.

...and provide the good assist for Papa's goal. He was quiet, yes, but was always working. There's only ten spots on the poll, you can't have everyone in there.

Good win, frustrating win. Lovely to see the stadium so full, worthy of Premiership teams, just hoping it won't be too long before we're there! Exeter were determined to stop us playing football, and they did it quite well. They were the better team to start off with, and as my missus noted, our first goal was against the run of play. I completely missed the second goal, I'll have to watch the highlights tonight, but thought Papa's goal was very well taken. He's got a cool head. Lloyd James was my MOTM today, he's still not a brilliant defender, despite all the practise he's getting in that position, but attacking he was very good, he deserved his goal. On the contrary, Harding, my favourite player so far this season, was poor. Tackling poor, going forward poor. Hopefully a blip. Perry was very good. Has there ever been a shorter centre back? My missus (a neutral) pointed Antonio out for special mention - she thought he was very hard working, with creativity to boot. I've been critical of him in the past, and I still think he's a touch of a one trick pony, but worth a loan extention nonetheless surely. 3 points, however they come, is much appreciated. Winning against Colchester is an absolute must, though that'll be a toughie!

Sprouts are the only food I've ever tried that has made me physically sick. Growing up, my dad never got the hint and always put one on my plate, which of course made everything else taste like sprout. My gag reflex worked overtime. My missus loves them. She will not be getting any loving after Christmas dinner.

We hit rock bottom, it was before the beginning of this season, knowing we were going to be in League One with -10, without a pot to ****** in, still stuck in the depths of administration. Then a nice man call Markus Liebherr heard the prayers. Had he not come in, we'd be very lucky to still have a club to support, it's amazing to think that we could have started this decade flying high in the Premiership and end it non-existant. Lordy knows what the next ten years will bring, but we can be reasonably assured that the first couple of them will be good!

It might be nice sitting next to the excited kiddywinks at Christmastime! Incidentally I'm glad she didn't choose a box...

Has anyone noticed how many adverts from yesteryear are making it back onto our screens? I saw the old KitKat Father Christmas Raymond Briggs advert tonight, that took me back to my youth! Also, the old Milky Way ad with the Red car and the Blue Car, and, well there are others but memory escapes me. Oh yes, the John Cleese Accurist ad and the Persil ads through the years...... Have companies run out of ideas, or is it a nostalgia ploy?

Get well soon MB. :-( I pray for your soul.

What about pictures of ladies in skimpy ladywear?

Just booked my tickets online for this. I let the missus choose my seats because she's offered to escort me to St Marys, despite being a Canary. She chose the Chapel, block 20. Sigh. Still, It's somewhere new. I've now gone from Kingsland North, to Kingsland South, to Chapel. Itchin and Northam watch out. :-D Tougher game than it looks on paper this one, but I still think we can win this. As mentioned before, the Brighton game will have taught the players not to take things for granted, besides which, if the Leeds game is to become irrelevant in the grand scheme of things this season, we can accept nothing less than a win. Looking forward to this one, I'm hoping to be in the Megastore before and after the game spending some of my hard earned Christmas Present Cash.
