  1. Every one of Pardew's signings so far has been a hit, in a major or minor way, and they have all contributed positively to the team. It's so nice to have a manager we trust to bring in the correct players that we need. I'm looking forward to the ins in January, I'll be turning a blind eye to the out's though...
  2. We have the finances to keep all our best players. Trying to persuade them that their future is with us and achieving promotion is the key to keeping him. Lallana is probably the shock of the season in terms of my expectations, I doubt he'd go in January (and I hope he doesn't twice as much), but if we're not up in May, trying to persuade him to stay with us for another League One year could prove tricky.
  3. In the couple of games I've seen him this season, I've not been impressed, however we tend to forget his age, and the fact he joined when we were FUBAR. He undoubtedly has talent, but perhaps lacks some consistancy. The benefit however opf having a player like Morgan, is that with our ambitions to obtain successive promotions (if that happens), he's a player that will fit in no matter what league we're in. In League 1, there's a lot of hussle and bustle, and Morgan does get stuck in and does what's required of him, but as we go up (if we go up) through the leagues, he also has that quality you need from playing good flowing football. I think with these differing playing styles, he could well be a first team fixture for years to come, as long as we keep the vultures away.
  4. A win is a win. A clean sheet is well recieved too, even if we didn't have much to deal with. Better finishing and the rest of the season is looking lovely. Another 3 points on Saturday at Walsall (not easy but doable) and we'll already be flying towards mid-table. Hoping it will be a good Christmas this year!
  5. If Harding doesn't score in this game, I'm going to shoot puppies. Naturally I don't want this to happen, so I'm very much hoping Harding scores. (To avoid an RSPCA charge, by "shoot" I mean "get excited on" and by "puppies" I mean "lovely lady lumps".)
  6. To those frustrated at not being out of the zone by now, I understand your concerns, but the league is very tight and if we get the 6 points this week, which I genuinely think we'll do, we'll be encroaching upon mid-table. A decent December and by the FA Cup 3rd round we may well be pushing the play-offs. Our slow start to the season has cost us so far, but you can't blame the boys for that. Now we're settled and look at the form. Blips like Brighton will happen, but as long as there are more ups than downs, we'll be ok. I do think the play-offs are beyond us, there are 6 or 7 teams that will be up there at the end of the season, although I still hope for the best, but I think the platform will be built for a promotion push next season. Fingers crossed for THIS season naturally, but I'm just enjoying each game as it comes without looking ahead too far.
  7. Irrespective of the line up I think that we'll pick up the full six points this week and fly out of the relegation zone and towards midtable. I'll be working tomorrow night so I expect something to cheer me up. a 3-0 win and a clean sheet would be perfect.
  8. I trust us this season to get past either team, so as a result I'm going to be ****y and say that I'm looking forward to the 4th round.
  9. I voted for the League, because that is always the main priority, but we'll be safe enough this season, and as such should consider the JPT as our best chance of getting to Wembley.
  10. We are sexy beasts!
  11. Quite fancy Liverpool at St Marys, add to their woes. Staines Town away gets my vote though, I could walk to the ground!
  12. Don't forget the play-offs while they're still a possibility, but don't set sights on them either. If Pardew tells the team we can make the play-offs, if, or maybe when, it becomes mathmatically impossible, the team is likely to switch off and accept poor form towards the tail end of the season. My idea would be that they should take each game as it comes. Looking into the future too far can only cause problems - the same for the fans, if we think we can make it into the play-offs, we'll be all the more gutted when we don't make it. The way I tend to deal with all things Saints related is to not think that the best could happen - I'm always the happier when we do things right.
  13. Great win - perhaps people will stop overreacting when we lose one game now. We're not the Saints of old - this is a new Saints, the Saints that have quality and can win games when they go behind instead of capitulating because of the reliance on youth. It's a very good win on paper, sounds like the Tellytubby combination is working wonders. More of the same please people. As for Kelvin, big blow but I expect and trust Bart to make the step up.

    Last 11 games

WHAT?!?!?!?! After we lost that one game against Brighton, I thought our world was about to end! :-D
  15. Top Gear has become immensely popular because it veered away from seriousness and into entertainment. New viewers were sucked in, not by cars but because it makes people laugh. Granted it is two fingers up to the real motoring fans, but for entertainment value alone, it is gold and a must watch in the SNSUN house. On a side note, if Top Gear ever got axed, I'd still like to see the three chaps team up and just make a series revolving around travelling and challenges.

    M&S Advert

Any one that writes in about the M and S advert would face a right kicking from me. I live for the advert breaks when I can see Noemie Lenoir in her magnificent glory. (Of course maybe I'd like to see her for longer - I think I might write in and complain about that) Claude Makelele divorcing her? He must be MAD. On another topic with the Waitrose ad, I like the music. Looked it up, Camilla Kerslake, new singer. Good song.
  17. Good job none of his family were calling him a **** or something, thinking he couldn't hear them...
  18. Makes Anchorman - "the bad man punted Baxter" - seem like a horrible snuff movie now...
  19. She has thighs that could crack a Brazil Nut open, a nose that could replace the Eiffel Tower if anything happened to it, and a vagina as round as a camel's hump. She's got limited sex appeal, can't write lyrics to save her life, and most definitely should not be wearing skimpy outfits. She looks like a man. All in all, I think you know my answer. Tap.
  20. I had to work yesterday, but from the sounds of it, the performance could've been better defensively. That said, had we won against Brighton, a draw in this match would've been a good result. It's a funny old game...
  21. Right, I think the best way to approach todays match is to concentrate on the areas we were poor in last Sunday. Defensively dire. Thomas should've started the game, he's not the greatest footballer ever to grace League One, but he doesn't fanny around on the ball. No-nonsense. I'd partner him with Jaidi and have Trots on the bench, no player is un-droppable and after last week, it'll give Trotman the chance to reflect on what a poor performance can result in. I'd personally also bring back the 4-5-1, I like Connolly but I still think he's a super-sub for the time being rather than a run everywhere for 90 minutes man. Waigo must take part in the game, up against the Doc he'd urinate all over him. Doherty is their weak link IMO and Lambert must exploit it. I don't for a second think our performance will be as bad as last week, Pardew will see to that, but I do think that while we should win games like this to progress, I'd be happy with a draw. An entertaining one though please! With my missus being a Norwich fan, these games bring untold worry and strife in my household, if we win, she won't talk to me for ages (COME ON SAINTS!!!), if we lose I'll be ridiculed at least until we triumph in the JPT. All told, it'll be 2-2.
  22. A case of the defence not being good enough perhaps. Harding is good on the left, but defensively we're weak on the right *****il Murty comes back). Jaidi is a good player, but you have to look at his age, and he needs to be paired with someone quicker in the centre of defence. Thomas, Perry and Trotman don't fulfil these requirements. In addition, the few times I've seen Morgan this season, I've not been impressed. We're practically a midfielder light because of it. Wotton may be the figure of fun on here, but defensively could he protect the back 4? I don't think we'll keep a clean sheet against Norwich, but keeping it to 1 or 2 goals and we could scrape a draw, which is my prediction for this weekend.
  23. Don't need him, and I hope Pardew is smart enough to realise this. Harding has been my MOTM for the last couple of games, he works his butt off and is possibly the best left back we could have at this level. Add to that Mills as cover and I don't see why we're trying to strengthen a position that doesn't need strengthening. With Antonio, Trotman and Mellis no more than just loans, surely one of their positions will need strengthing in January/Summer.
  24. I agree but not Lallana. We need a left footer in the left midfield spot. Harding and Mills are both good defenders and competent going forwards - I don't see why they can't work together. I'd move Lallana elsewhere and try Mills and Harding on the left, I'm almost certain Mills would track back.
  25. I don't think we will lose against Norwich but it is still a very real possibility. Our problems stem from having an unorganised team at the start of the season. Trotman, Jaidi, Hammond, Lambert, Antonio, Mellis were all new recruits either just before or after the season kicked off - they had to be just thrust into the action. Following the Bristol Rovers game, which we were mightily unlucky to lose, we had a sustained unbeaten period which was partly due to having a settled squad. We won't go down this season - I'd cut off my own testicles in public if we do - and there's still ages to go until the end of the season. As for players leaving, well I sincerely hope they can see that the rebuilding process is a lengthy one, and not a case of instant miracles. The board has given us two seasons to get back into the Championship - and I think if we don't scrape into the play-offs this season, then we'll accomplish it next season.
