I feel a little sorry for Garde. He comes in knowing the squad is ****. Told he can strengthen but when he tries to, the board refuse to buy anyone so he still has the **** squad. Pre arrival, Villa had 4 points from 11 games. He got 12 points from 20 games.

Not really. It was reported last week that he was off and today said that it was just a matter of working out compensation.

Quite. We truly appreciate your support. Everyone at Saints counts on your passion and loyalty to drive the team on through every minute, of every match, of every season. That is why, as 2016/17 Season Tickets go on sale soon, we wanted to tell you that we've frozen the price of your seat at £737, meaning you won't pay a penny more than you did last year. So appreciative that they charge exactly the same and try and blow smoke up my backside with their (false) magnanimity. As for counting on my passion and loyalty that is patently obvious. The problem is though, when you take these things for granted (as they do) then they might find that that loyalty doesn't stretch to £737. There are so many great benefits to being a Season Ticket holder, including: •Guaranteed seat for 19 Premier League home matches •Priority purchase on away and cup matches •Opportunity to re-sell your ticket for matches you’re unable to attend, via the Ticket Exchange •A 10% retail discount Guaranteed seat - hardly a benefit as it is the reason for parting with ridiculous amounts of money. A benefit is having something above and beyond the very minimum that you expect, which is your seat for the 19 games. Cup matches aren't sold out so hardly a benefit. Away purchases can be useful for a very limited number. As we sell something like 20k season tickets, then the 1-3K that we get allocated isn't going to really be adequate and hardly can be considered a benefit if there is no guarantee of getting an away ticket. I don't expect there to be a guaranteed away ticket, but more questioning it as a benefit. Re-sell thing is a waste of time as the one game I have missed wasn't a sell out so I couldn't use the re-sell facility. 10% retail discount is useless as I am not intending to buy any over priced goods, not least because I feel that I already give enough to the club. I guess if I spent £7k in the shop then I could get my ticket for "free". Someone needs to learn how to write less patronising drivel in their emails.

Don't Veho do speakers? Or are they Veho speakers? Having said that, I'm happy enough looking at Kenzie rather than listening to her.

As we all know, we have the least lucrative shirt sponsorship in the PL along with Norwich, Watford and Leicester, and our deal expires at the end of the season (or at least I think it is). http://www.totalsportek.com/football/premier-league-shirt-sponsorship-deals/ Could we get the same as Villa, Palace and Sunderland, or even Swansea? I realise that after signing Veho on a ridiculously small amount (and good luck to Veho) we signed up Garmin as "OFFICIAL NAVIGATION PARTNER/OFFICIAL FITNESS DEVICE PARTNER". http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/14082014-announcement-garmin-partnership-1827220.aspx Wondering a) whether Garmin might not become main club sponsor and b) how much realistically we might expect from shirt sponsor as £1m is far too little. Like many others, I would not want a betting company or pay day loan shark to sponsor us.

Agree that the price reduction has been brought in for that reason, and it is somewhat disingenuous to sell as being some sort of magnanimous gesture when in fact the freezing of everywhere else is what they probably would have done, and a move that treats the customers with disdain.
-
Must confess to being somewhat disappointed that all prices haven't been reduced. I guess the Wings and Goal sections have been done so in order to be £30 the same as the away support. I wonder whether that means that the occasional purchaser will have to pay more than £30 for Wings/Goals - presume it does.

Rooney 7 goals from 22 PL appearances. Vardy 19 goals from 31. Why wouldn't Roy not start Rooney, stats don't tell the whole picture!!! Hodgson should have been sacked after Brazil, so really, am not expecting much from him other than the usual dire, dross that we have been served up for the past 20 years. Just wait until Wishere gets back on games, he'll be straight in along with AOC.
-
Maybe Morgan will tell MUFC to lump it and stick to the terms of the contract. A sort of "1 year of an amazing journey DESTROYED in 1 hour !!!" moment. Oh the delicious irony of it all.
-
Hodgson is a dreadful manager. OK, with Hart, maybe so, although I am not sure he is as good as Hodgson makes him out to be. But we will revert to type. We'll have Rooney and Wilshere back in the starting line up and nowt will be different from Brazil.

Maybe, but it seems a little strange seeing as Man Utd have won a lot more games with him than without him. LVG hasn't found the right combo yet but it seems that it might be Carrick and Schneiderlin. If anyone needs shipping out it would be Schweinsteiger, unless you read this http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jose-mourinho-bastian-schweinsteiger-fan-11095658. Maybe the press are getting confused with people whose surname starts "Sch"

Agreed.... But I really really really want to finish above WetSpam. The press have been going on and on about them and how wonderful they are.

I think someone needs to get out a little more.

I thought Man City had a capacity of 60,000

AOC at Arsenal, PL only .... 2011/12 - Squad: 26, Starting eleven: 6, Substituted in: 10, On the bench: 10, Suspended: 0, Injured: 0 = total 558 minutes. 2 goals, 1 assist 2012/13 - Squad: 34, Starting eleven: 11, Substituted in: 14, On the bench: 9, Suspended: 0, Injured: 3 = total 1062 minutes. 1 goal, 5 assists 2013/14 - Squad: 16, Starting eleven: 6, Substituted in: 8, On the bench: 2, Suspended: 0, Injured: 22 = 523 minuites. 2 goals. 3 assists 2014/15 - Squad: 24, Starting eleven: 17, Substituted in: 6, On the bench: 1, Suspended: 0, Injured: 13 = 1495 minutes. 1 goal. 1 assist 2015/16 - Squad: 23, Starting eleven: 9, Substituted in: 13, On the bench: 1, Suspended: 0, Injured: 7 = 924 minutes. 1 goal. 1 assist So looking on paper, he has had a lot of injuries and doesn't score many goals or have many assists. If you take the goals/assists into consideration, then it is worst than Gaston (who I know people love so much for his breathtaking performances!). I sometimes get the feeling the the big clubs just sign UK players so that they fill the quota for CL if any good, AS WELL AS stopping their competitors from signing them.

As did (to a large extent) Walcott. And while it's still too early to say about Chambers, he can hardly be considered to have come on at Arsenal. Chambers 2015/16 - 12 PL games @ 312 minutes 2014/15 - 23 PL games @ 1569 minutes 2013/14 - 22 PL games @ 1640 minutes (at Saints) This season: Squad: x25, Starting eleven: x2, Substituted in: x10, On the bench (and not used): x13, Suspended: x0, Injured: x0 Our young players have to decide what is important to them. Do they want to be bench warmers at Arsenal but get paid a lot more than with us, or do they want to be a little more patient and develop into more complete players before moving, even if it takes a couple more years? I guess the lure of going from £5-10k a week (no mean wage) to £50k a week is too much.

Pochettino interview: Spurs are a bigger club than Saints, etc.
angelman replied to Singapore Saint's topic in The Saints
A Notts Forest fan. Really? I'm sure he would take you to task over that. -
Klopp dancing around punching the air. http://hoofoot.com/?match=Southampton_3_-_2_Liverpool_2016_03_20 look at 4:03 II don't buy into the sycophancy that the press undertake. Can't stand the way the focus is always on Klopp and what a breath of fresh air he is to the PL. Can't stand Klopp, and would go as far as saying that I even preferred Brenda.

Leicester show up our (and everyone else's) failings so have no desire to drop points to them or anyone else. I think we will win but lose at Spurs
-
Bad idea, and IF it does come about, I hope that they disallow have players returning from injury, like JRod, from playing. The PL is desperate to try and blood their youngsters in competitive games, but refuse to give them PL playing time. The U21 competitions aren't considered good enough and there was talk a while back of them wanting to have reserve teams in L2 and L1. The PL seemingly couldn't give a toss about lower league sides so long as they're OK.

I think Spurs will win it. Hope I am wrong.
