  1. ^ Poch seemed to use that argument (being unlucky) when he trotted out that they had 70% possession and that we only had 2 shots on goal which we scored and won the game from. It is a fairly non-sensical argument as it doesn't take into account the way we set ourselves up to play.
  2. One of the goal kicks to me was the correct decision, even though I am almost as blind as a bat. But in any event, there was presumably some doubt so the defenders get the benefit of that doubt.
  3. My post on the other hand was blithely optimistic to counter some posters who were being overly negative. Everton away is a bogey team, but they are crap at the moment, so a draw might have been an expectation. Villa you would hope to win as well as Palace at home (but we'll see). The other two games - I guess most would have prepared for the worst and no points, happily taken 3 points butsettled for 2, been ecstatic with 4 and disbelieved we could/would get 6.
  4. They've sold 10,000 at £99 to U16 so wondering whether it might not sound like a woman's match.
  5. Bloody Everton ruined the chance of it happening, but otherwise we are looking good. I suspect though that that wasn't quite what you two were meaning!
  6. Agree with WG. It's not luck. Just like it is asinine for Pellegrini to say Man C deserve to be in CL because they spent all season in the top 4.
  7. Man Utd at home another 3 dropped??????
  8. Meow!!
  9. I approached Cuco with Twente's fans laughter in mind. IIRC they thought that we were mad to take him on as they felt he wasn't good enough. The 1 year contract certainly seemed to suggest it was a risk and that the club were not prepared to offer longer. With that all in mind, I have been pleasantly surprised from what I have seen. I do always approach things thinking that he is going to make some dreadful mistake, but I have to say that I far prefer him to be there than Yoshida and he hasn't been too bad. Having said that, he did get badly caught out by Rose yesterday on more than one occasion. So to me he is adequate. Is he better than Cedric? Presumably so, hence why he is starting. Do you extend the contract????
  10. What on earth has happened to him??? This calendar year in the league.... 2nd Jan - 1 minute 17th Jan - 1 minute 14th Feb - 45 minutes 19th Mar - 4 minutes 2013/14 at Saints in PL - 1640 minutes. 14/15 at Arsenal 1569 PL minutes. This season 312 PL minutes (no injuries) OK he has played in the FA Cup games (67 mins of 3rd round, and all the 4th, 5th + replay and 6th rounds) which is hardly that inspiring at Arsenal who treat the FA Cup as a training game for their development squad or those that are invariably coming back from injury. I suppose that this is made up by being paid more, but seems such a waste. Maybe he'll come good.
  11. More likely a poke at those agitating for a move (and who possibly are largely responsible for our patch of poor performances that have cost us dear).
  12. Benitez? I used to really dislike him, but I have mellowed.
  13. So gracious in defeat.....http://www.espnfc.com/barclays-premier-league/23/video/2867464/pochettino-we-were-better-than-saints
  14. Would be funny if ManC don't make top 4!
  15. But losses to Norwich and Bournemouth, and draws against Newcastle, Villa and Sunderland. What if..........!
  16. No idea!! But I read that if Man U win the FA Cup and Liverpool win the Europa League, then England has 8 teams in Europe.

  18. So we win our last game = 63 points. West Ham beat Man Utd and lose to Stoke = 62 points and Man U lose to West Ham and Bournemouth = 63 points and a worse GD than us and Liverpool don't win all of their games at Watford, Chelsea and WBA and we finish 5th! Bournemouth doing the double on Utd might be pushing things a bit too far. Maybe Utd beating WHU and then we win our last game with Liverpool getting a draw somewhere to leave us 6th is more realistic.
  19. I'd put your house on Saints winning the league
  20. Good to see that this can happen and that the Latvian FA were so accommodating. Football/footballers (at the top) seem to have become so distant from the fan base these days that things like this seem out of the ordinary when they should be a lot more common.
  21. Has the 5 year plan somewhat changed with LCFC doing what they have done? Or is that just seen as a one off not to be repeated for a generation? As for the OP, I did raise this question on another thread. If RK isn't signing up for the 5 year plan, might it not be best to get someone who will commit to it? RK is 53 so he has time, presuming he wants to carry on managing into his 60s. Certainly he and his brother have a comfortable job offer, but it depends whether he wants to go to the top as being pragmatic, the top is not where we are likely to be.
  22. My flabbers are gasted at this. Well done SFC. Very pleasing news and hope that others might follow in his steps.
  23. AOC broken down again. Too much of a risk to take.
  24. I thought it was Palace that we were supposed to be wishing we were.
  25. Would be nice to be different from Stoke, Sunderland and anyone else in red and white. A bit more than just the thickness of the stripes. And the away kit being the same as Stoke with the colours inverted is lazy, so hope to go back to the old one.
