  1. I tend to find that if I have nothing worth saying or contributing to a thread that it is best to keep quiet about it. If you want to let it go, fine, let it go, but if others want to comment on it, then fine, let them comment on it. We really don't need sanctimonious posts admonishing others for what they do.
  2. As per my above post, it is the child getting the benefit not the parents
  3. It may be semantics to some but it is important. Cameron wasn't claiming DLA, he was (that is if you know he was) claiming on behalf of his son. You start taking benefits from people because of how well off their parents are and you enter a world of trouble.
  4. Take your word for that, as I had fallen asleep Not much effort really is it, to watch a game of footie and note how a current player of Saints, out on loan, is doing? Or do you think that sitting on your fat arse looking at the box, is a lot of effort?
  5. Firstly, I am a Tory (for my sins) but cannot stand Cameron nor his bum chum. Secondly, I have a disabled kid (hence the user name). The strange thing in this is that the changes to PIP were not as drastic as the press and others made out, and also could be reasonably explained. If anyone knows the test, then it basically said that there was no need for on going payments for aides that are one off payments, which if you think about it, does actually make sense. It dropped questions 5(b) and 6(b) from 2 points to 1 point. Having said that, the real problem seems to be that moving from DLA to PIP was supposed to save money, but I believe average payments went from £86 to £100. Therefore, all the action taken by Georgie Boy were to rectify this. The other problem, which doesn't generally get mentioned, is that DLA recipients went up by 35% over the past 10 years, and supposedly trebled in the past 20. Government sees a huge increase in payments and wants to cut it. As you say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. The tax burden falls far far too squarely on the shoulders of individuals. Companies should pay their way. Cut out this paper exercise of shifting profits around the world so to pay nothing here. If we are talking about making £4-5 billion of savings, then all this avoidance dwarfs that amount. Also, when I heard the Budget that Corporation Tax was going to be cut to 17%, I thought as a business owner, that I didn't actually want that saving if it meant cuts to the disabled, and that's not out of personal circumstances, as when the nipper goes on to PIP, he is likely to score over 80 points. Having said that, I do think the trebling of DLA recipients does need looking into. Anyway, hopefully this will mean Cameron and Osborne can bugger off to the Chiltern Hundreds. I'm not holding my breath, but I do think that it means Osborne will not take over when Cameron steps down, so at least we have that.
  6. He strolls around, doesn't get stuck in, over hits passes and generally has been very average. I read in the Fail that Sevilla have been eyeing him up. Why?
  7. Frank de Boer
  8. Sorry, while I agree he is not lazy as evidenced by him chasing balls down and tracking back a lot, to try and say he doesn't do too many flicks and tricks is something I can't agree with. I think even Ron came out and said that he would have to cut out the ridiculous back heels and such like.
  9. Why blue? It's almost like someone designing it took the Union Flag and thought it should be red, white and blue. And on a total aside, am I the only one who thinks that all this stubble looks really tatty. Wasn't it Alf Ramsey who said that if you were chosen for the team, you were representing your country and you had to be smart (inc shaved)?
  10. Didn't I hear Woy talking recently that historically someone played well so was likely to get included? Wilshere I think it was! If that is the attitude, then no wonder we are **** at tournaments. As for Morgan, I really couldn't care less. He threw a strop (albeit was made to stay) and thought the grass was greener over the other side of the fence. It was his choice, he can live with it.
  11. I guess you are right, and definitely so about Mané when he was first here. Just that Tadic doesn't seem to get in the box enough to get a reputation as a diver.
  12. talkSPort had Poll on to give his verdict on Lee Mason. Penalty and no red card was his verdict. But he said that maybe Tadic's propensity to dive might have counted against him. Does he had a reputation for diving?

Sam Gallagher 1-2. Wonder if he will ever get back into the 1st team?

    Well, we're 1-0 down now!
  15. The thing about the price is to me purely down to the amount Hull paid 6 months earlier. What was our first offer - £8m? The club decided not to faff about and just get him. I guess what with the exits and press saying we were in free fall, there was a danger that things could get out of control. But.....we wanted a forward who had PL experience. Who else, taking price and ability, was available and was a better prospect? I suspect also that a Home Grown player was also something that might have been taken into account. No one yet has come up with a better option, that's not saying that there wasn't one. Anyway, that's in the past. Now, he scores a few. He's never going to be a 20 a season man. But I look at what he offers and how he makes the defence of the opposition shape themselves. Play too high a line and he is likely to punish you either himself, or with Tadic's non-goal at Stoke. Dither on the ball a bit too long and you're likely to have him in your face. He also offers something different, so we actually have a Plan B now.
  16. Stan, so on another thread you **** on Shlong, now Pelle. He may be ****, but if he is then seeing as he is one of the Italian centre forwards, Italy must be in trouble. And obviously Chelsea are going to be in trouble next season with the Italian manager who has selected him for the National squad taking over there.
  17. Such a shame that the bloke who used to be in front of me has moved seats. He hated Long and that only made me like him more than I already did. We all know that Hull profited after 6months by about £5m. But things changed and look who they signed as a replacement. One of the few signings of another PL player, who actually played for the first team, that we have made. He wanted to come here to play rather than a stepping stone, and I like that. Austin has done the same, so I like him as well.
  18. But as the old cliché goes, there are no easy games.
  19. Wish the press gave more coverage to teams like us. I get Mail online as the app works. It's a **** publication. We aren't even in today's sports page. We barely got mentioned yesterday. No mention of dodgy red or penalty. No wheeling out of ex-refs to give their opinion. If it was a big club then there would be pages and pages. So through the press, big clubs get the exposure and therefore appeal to new supporters. Fair enough as papers are commercial so have to appeal to the biggest audience. But they take it to extreme.
  20. Pelle lazy? He covers a lot of the pitch, harries defenders and goalkeepers. Often tracks all the way back into the box.
  21. Highlights here: http://hoofoot.com/?match=Stoke_city_1_-_2_Southampton_2016_03_12 The Russian version shows the red card. Seems pretty harsh.
  22. In the good old days, having gone in with a 2 goal lead, let an early goal in 2nd half in, we would have buckled. Nice to have some backbone.
  23. Couldn't watch 2nd half, had to go and do some gardening. What happened with Mané?
  24. But Tadic often takes too much time. It's like he is frightened to pull the trigger.
