I'd go for Curbishley. He might not keep us up but I'd rather have him in charge for the next few seasons than the clown we have at the moment.

Hmmm ... interesting reading. Perhaps somebody could explain to me what has happened since then, it seems to have been downhill all the way. I didn't go to the West Ham match so perhaps I wasn't blinded by the style over the substance?
-
At any other club in any other league he wouldn't have been appointed (except Holland)
-
Davros was better looking.
-
But I thought we needed the cheap option???
-
Basically, yes.

Could it be that Lowe knows that administration and 10 point deduction is inevitable - maybe imminent - and there is no point in changing manager?
-
Wasn't that chap Phil Ifill a loan? Jack Cork can play at fullback.
-
The only way to pay of that debt is by filling the stadium somehow and the only way to do that is with a football club playing football. Without a buyer at some stage before winding up / administration Then it's a points deduction this season and probably an even bigger one next season in League 1.
-
Oh dear, I've just had a look at the fixture list and I can't see more than two wins in any of the games, so League 1 here we come!
-
With someone in charge who knows his business there's just a chance that we can get some method and discipline instilled into the squad but even then it'll be touch and go. At the moment, though, we're holed below the waterline and foundering

It's beyond retrieval now with this manager and these players. If Poortvliet had the nous to turn things round then he would have done so by now. The players have lost faith in him and he's just going through the motions. If he's still in charge at Norwich then I don't hold out much hope for us.
-
Actually I do. I thought that overall it was fairly even but Kelvin made more outstanding saves than their keeper did.

I could cry ](*,)

Agreed, I hate to admit it but after having a good look yesterday you can't say it was a bad decision.

Thanks for the insight, Donnylee. In the first half I was thinking to myself that it was no surprise that our two teams were at the bottom, neither side knew how to defend or how to score. However, I would never criticise the one I love! I wish you all the best, provided that you finish beneath us.

It's in a residential area so if you're there early enough and haven't been there before you can always try what I like to do: Drive to the ground and then head back homewards. Find somewhere convenient on the left-hand side so that you're pointing in the right direction. If you park about a mile from the ground then by the time you reach the car the traffic will have thinned out and you'll be in the clear. I don't know if they have residents' parking now, the only time that I've been there we lost 3-2 and Luis Boa Morte scored for us. There now seems to be a consensus on this board along the lines: 1. Poortvliet is not up to it and must be replaced immediately. 2. Lowe has to follow him out the door. Is there anybody around who still supports either of them?
-
That would be the end of the club imho.
-
Bobby Charlton said that about Sir Alf Ramsey. He would drum into them that whenever we lost the ball 'I must get goalside of my man'. Even a footballer could understand that.
-
It is the ultimate fate of every manager.
-
Well, somebody's got to do something. Perhaps a player's revolt would do the trick?

I read some time ago that the average career of a premiership footballer was 7 years. 28 is a good age and after 34 everything stiffens up and your joints lose their elasticity. Experience makes up for some of the deficiencies.

I've been saying this ever since he came back. He doesn't understand an entertainment business that depends on attracting people to watch what you're offering. There will always be a solid core of regular supporters but there are thousands of discretionary punters who are not prepared to pay to watch second-rate and reserve-team players. If you budget for League 1 then that is what you will get.

I watched it again this morning (I know - Why?) and at first I thought he was offside but watching again and freezing the action it was the correct decision. As for the second goal, James was ball watching and lets the scorer run straight past him which then leaves him on the wrong side and unable to tackle. Sh!t defending as usual, I'm afraid.
