  1. Who do you think Stephens was marking for either of those goals? And by 'marking' I don't mean showing the opponent the number on the back of your shirt.
  2. It’s not that difficult. I can do it quite easily from the comfort of my armchair.
  3. In this case it was denying a goal by handball and not just a DOGSO so once it is deemed to be handball then it has to be a red card. “Where a player denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity by a handball offence, the player is sent off wherever the offence“
  4. Studs out, straight leg, moving at pace. An inch to the right and it could have been a serious injury and a definite red card. The shin pad was twisted right round to the side. Dangerous and should be stamped out, if that’s the right word. There doesn’t even have to be contact for it to be a foul, but in this case there was.
  5. He wasn’t that late. He was caught on the ankle, took a couple of hops and then went down. It was an obvious foul and should have been given.
  6. If he had kept his arm still he might have got away with it but that secondary forward movement was just enough for it to have been a foul.
  7. As others have said, he watches the ball and nothing else. Man-marking is an unknown skill to him.
  8. Standing in an offside position almost on the goalkeeper’s toes is an offside offence. Whether the goalkeeper might have saved it is irrelevant. A beautiful header though.
  9. Strange, that. Did we rescue a point from a losing position?
  10. And Portsmouth lose 1-0
  11. Just tell the ref that your name is Sid.
  12. "Play a big role" In a good way? I look forward to seeing that.
  13. Did they? They could have just run down his contract.
  14. Oops. It hasn't been called that for years. The correct description now is 'unsporting behaviour' and has been for a long time. Apparently it was because the player might not actually be a gentleman.
  15. It’s classed as ‘ungentlemanly conduct’ if it’s thought that it might cause an opponent to leave the ball. It’s better to use a name instead such as “Whitey Grandad’s” or even “Ex Lion Tamer’s”
  16. I take everything at face value until proved otherwise. Even people.
  17. Oldham v Southampton 8th May 1993? It finished 4-3 with MLT getting a hat trick. https://www.premierleague.com/match/457
  18. No. You’re thinking of printed signs, and there weren’t a lot of those. If any of our competitors had sold a lot of product I might agree with you, but they haven’t. Even the static sign companies have struggled. Besides, I am not a close friend of a government minister
  19. If one of our goalkeepers was injured we would need to get someone in to cover. In this instance they’re not injured, they’re just not very good.
  20. That’s very presumptuous of you.
  21. Nope. Because everyone was staying at home.
  22. Shame. I fancied a home draw.
  23. Didn’t Franny Benali break his arm sweeping up leaves, or something?
