  1. You told me to ignore it so I didn’t read it. You also told me to ignore you.
  2. You don’t have a clue about what life was like then.
  3. Lack of intent is a very modern concept. Pierluigi Collina bears a lot of responsibility for it. I’m old fashioned and prefer proper football.
  4. Some decisions are subjective and ‘in the opinion of the referee’. Others are factual such as ball in or out of play and even offside, to some extent. I have always been opposed to VAR and don’t think it improves the game.
  5. Not so I’m afraid. That is explicitly allowed in The Laws. I don’t think it’s right either. Especially now that they are getting hot on goalkeepers leaving their line. The whistle wasn’t blown until KWP is on the ground so you cannot say that it was blown for the ‘initial’ foul. It was a comprehensive foul, not two separate ones. The ref wasn’t in the best position either.
  6. I shall respond this once even though your behaviour does not warrant it. Why the childish comments? Do you behave like this at home? In polite society?
  7. If you’re going to continue to use silly names then you are beyond help. My comprehension of English is fine. ‘Should’ as part of a question is not definitive. As you well know, the wording of the question was not a matter of public debate. Like everything’s else that’s happened since. ”Should the United Kingdom...” invites the response ”Yes, I think it should” It was all part and parcel of an advisory consultation, as approved in Law by Parliament.
  8. The second foul was more of a trip. KWP’s thigh was caught which was one of the reasons that he went down. I agree, if you’re going to use VAR there need to be cameras everywhere and certainly looking along the boundary lines.

  10. Even if you consider it to have been a push followed by a trip you can always allow advantage for the first and then give a penalty for the second. If you haven’t blown your whistle you can penalise the latter of the two.
  11. Yes, it’s nonsense. Scoring a goal should be difficult. Either a thing of beauty, or a fluke, or a mistake, it should be something special. Just trying to kick the ball against someone’s arm or hanging a led out where it might get touched don’t have the same magic for me.
  12. You’re right, ‘should’ is conditional. Remember this question? "Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?”
  13. Bravo! As an ex-referee I can only applaud you. To me it looked like a clear penalty, obviously a foul and comfortably inside the penalty area. The referee was not in a good position to see where it took place and luckily VAR set him straight. Despite what those on TV said it wasn’t two separate fouls but a continuous one. I’m not a fan of VAR and in the olden days when they played real football it wouldn’t have been a handball penalty to them and we would have just accepted the referee’s decision on KWP and got on with the game.
  14. Let’s be honest. It was a gamble that seems to have paid off.
  15. Make sure her mask is nice and tight.
  16. Can he do that from prison?
  17. Was it 'Tuesday' or 'by Tuesday'?
  18. Booing is unnecessary and unhelpful but at some stage this gesture has to be quietly dropped much like the clapping for the NHS.
  19. Glad you’re still with us Crabby and many thanks for taking the trouble to write all this down.
  20. It’s the priority for those who went to away games that I’m whinging about. And then we get told that it’s fair.
  21. Like losing our home games To be honest that’s probably my view too. At 1300 ticket holders in each ballot it’s going to be eight games or so before any ‘ordinary’ supporter gets a second bite. Of course if we were in Tier 1 there might be twice that many. I reckon I might get vaccinated before I get to see us play again.
  22. No, not yet and not likely either. If you are successful in a ballot you will get an email ticket to print at home or possibly wave on your phone.
  23. Shouldn’t they swim in? Or at least come by assault hovercraft, kayak, abseiling from a helicopter...
  24. Don’t even try to patronise me you irritating little doormat. And don’t try to be a smart are’s either. You’re even worse at that. How about trying to have an adult discussion without the snidely playground comments? Now it’s my turn to be a smartarse. You said ‘largest trading partner, you didn’t mention ‘country’. 😝
  25. We would. We are 71 years old and at the moment our lives are on hold. I am also firmly convinced that you should get a vaccination certificate in some form to prevent any reluctance from hospitality and travel providers.
