Jason Puncheon has been released at the end of his contract by Crystal Palace after six years. It doesn’t seem like yesterday.

I fell British and European in equal amounts. The British bit changes to English whenever the Scots start getting nationalistic.

That’s unlikely. They would have known exactly which candidate you meant. -
People who don't put the lids back on properly so that you have to check every time that you pick the bottle up or else you'd pour the contents everywhere. Yes dear, I' talking about you!

TVs and other electronic devices that take an age to ‘warm up’. When I were a boy in the 1950s a radio would take 8 seconds to warm up and a TV 20 seconds and we thought that was a long time. Mind you, that was a modern tele which we didn’t get until about 1957.

That’s if you can find a petrol station. We used to have over half a dozen in Chandlers Ford and now we’re down to one. I don’t count Asda’s because its tanks are full of water. Supermarkets who open coffee shops which means that their car parks are full up because everybody who has finished their shopping is sitting in the coffee shop. Scrap that. Coffee shops in general. What a waste of a life.

How do you write ‘Yoshida’ in Japanese? I tried to turn the picture upside down to check it but my iPad keeps turning it round again.

Temporary road signs giving advance warning of closures that are still there later and three months out of date.

People who park right outside an entrance waiting for someone just because they are too lazy to use the short-term parking provided 20 yards away. Outside Southampton Parkway station for example.

I had considered that, but this was in the context of "with the help of our friends across the pond" We have much to thank the Americans for in this instance but we were not alone. World War, wannit. As a completely irrelvant aside to this I was researching my grandmother's brother's history and I got hold of a copy of his entry in the US Census from the 1920s. Under the heading of 'Military Service' the entry was: "Yes - WW" It didn't say WW1 of course because at that time there hadn't been a second one.

Miss Huddersfield is very good advice.

And the French who protected our backs at Dunkirk and the Italians who joined the Allies when Italy surrended and fought against the Germans and not forgetting all the European scientifi refugees who contributed to the Manhattan Project.

I paid for 'Tapatalk HD' a few years ago and then they did an update and all the adverts came back. Not pleased. -
It was, of course, an allied effort. The arrival of the Prussians tipped the balance and pursued the retreating French. Back in late April I had the opportunity to visit the battlefield of Waterloo and I found it fascinating. Even though I had seen many accounts of the battle it wasn't until I saw the landscape fully that I began to appreciate what had happened. I'd like to go back now that I've read more about it.

To show him what a proper football team looks like and to see what proper defending is?

Anyone with a restrictive contract? How about the music industry where you could sign an exclusive contract with one particular music company?

Great match between equals but it’s not proper cricket if they’re not wearing whites
