  1. Abysmal productivity is our big problem. Our trade with the EU cannot possibly get easier than it is at present if we leave, and when trading with the rest of the world we would be competing with the EU who have a much bigger clout than us.
  2. It's getting to be a must-win.
  3. They changed the mindset of the players. They went from 'we're doing ok, we just need to carry on doing the same' to 'we're going to try and shut them out and hold on for the win'. It leads to players dropping back towards their own goal. The substitutions had the opposite effect on the Russians.
  4. Oops. You could see it coming. We sat back and invited it.
  5. Comical perhaps, but he doesn't make me laugh.
  6. Sterling gives the ball away again. We're bring on James Milner. Hmm.
  7. Sterling is poor. All he can do is run at them and then let the ball bounce off them.
  8. Why, to take the corners?
  9. And Kane is crap at taking corners.
  10. What an awful game.
  11. It isn't. It's almost exactly the same rate.
  12. Maybe I am, or maybe they just didn't impress me much? (I bet you had to look up their list of achievements )
  13. Wes, you cannot be serious when you say that you believe that Britain would be stronger outside the EU, no matter what you might think about it as an institution. Whatever is holding us back has nothing to do with the EU.
  14. Actually the whole consideration of the value of wealth is fundamental to the story of Robinson Crusoe. We used to have the largest economy in the world but a lot has declined since then. With the recent fall in the value of sterling I doubt that were even fifth today. It's not that long ago that we were fourth, just above Italy. But all this is history, it's where we shall be in the future that matters.
  15. Not much use if your choices are limited. Robinson Crusoe had absolute sovereignty over all he surveyed and a fat lot of good it did him.
  16. That's nothing, I'm nearly 67 and I can never remember Everton winning anything. If you asked me for a list of the great English clubs then their name would not spring to mind.
  17. The whole politic is determined by the power of the veto. To get any new deal through you would need to get positive agreement amongst all 27 countries so even if some other countries are in favour it only needs a couple of dissenters to scupper the deal.
  18. Over 85% of the cars made at Burnaston are exported to Europe. Do you think that would continue?
  19. There is no logic whatsoever in that conclusion.
  20. Very true. Perhaps they should pay back all those that they have received.
  21. Really? Can we have a frinstance?
  22. Likes a high press but tends to fade after 80 minutes.
