War is a failure of diplomacy but unfortunately some people don't or won't listen and it becomes the ultimate sanction. In order for diplomacy to work there has to be a credible threat involved somewhere. It goes back over the centuries:
Si vis pacem para bellum.
Speak softly and carry a big stick.
They invaded. They got forced out. If these islands had not been defended and force had been shown to have been rewarded then where would it all end? You can't do a cost-benefit analysis over events such as these.
Are you accusing me of racism???
Because if you are, I most strongly object and ask that you withdraw your remark. At no time have I ever mentioned race or colour.
Resorting to accusations of racism are the the lowest form of argument and are not worthy of you.
I read yesterday that LVG had instructed his forwards that they must always attack the near post. This must make it easier for the opposition to prepare for a match.
You'd think they'd be grateful for any food and shelter that the people of Britain provide. This is a gift, not a right. If they don't like it they can always go back to the place they left, or ask someone else to put them up.
It qualifies as 'holding' which means stopping the opponent from moving freely. Some defenders will take hold of an opponent's shirt so that they can watch the ball and still sense when the other player makes a move. If they let go straight away there's no problem but when it becomes a tug it should be punished.
