The Rich Fool Go, silly worm, drudge, trudge and travel*, Despising pain, So thou may'st gain Some honour, or some golden gravel; But death the while, to fill his number, With sudden call Takes thee from all, To prove thy days but dreams and slumber. Joshua Sylvester 1563-1618 (*travel = travail, work) I came across this many years ago and as I get older its significance grows day by day.

It could just be that we aren't offering enough in the way of wages.
-
The problem with big tellies of this size and resolution is the lack of source material.
-
Yes, isn't it always right to question?
-
No, but it's very expensive to get there and difficult to support politically these days.

Respect. This is not a rant, rather a perfectly reasonable response to this load of shysters.

I've been to Swindon but I don't want to go back there again.
-
More importantly, what happened to the first fifty? Where have they gone?

At least it stops you rolling out of bed.

As long as nothing else drops. How many in a packet? I think I might need two of them, there again I have to think of my heart.

I was talking to a girl in Atlanta who had never seen the sea. It's only about 250 miles away. Also remember Americans in the middle of nowhere are not going to drive an hour or so to visit the nearest town which is exactly like the one they left and where they don't know anybody. Of course a lot of places are named after places in Europe so if you mention a place name you have to qualify it. I bet if you asked similar questions in China, Russia, Argentina or even Australia you would get some dumb looks.
-
I might add that every American that I have met has been unfailingly polite and friendly.

Probably ignorance rather than stupidity.

I'd like to see the same questions asked in Birmingham, or Leicester, or Liverpool, or...

The only problem I can see is that the road is full and has been every time that I have ever gone to the ticket office. It was full las Monday morning when I renewed mine.

It used to be something like you can't associate more than 5 PCs with your account. You have to reset and then add your PCs again.

FA Cup reinstated as the final game of the season
Whitey Grandad replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
ITV wanted an evening ko I believe. Bit of a nonsense really with two teams from the northwest and finishing too late for the trains back home. -
So what's the alternative? Send them out on foot? Are we to have Human Rights advisors sitting alongside the commanding officer? They are suing the wrong people. They should be suing the ones who are blowing them up.

Not going to happen, I'm afraid. The money is needed to pay for the new Wembley. -
This is abject nonsense.

Are you two related by any chance? You share the same surname. -

Indeed. This incident is also a reminder to us all how dangerous the hard shoulder is. During my dealings with the Highways Agency I was told a couple of figures which I cannot verify. Life expectancy on the hard shoulder is not much more than twenty minutes. I think it's a case that those who had unfortunately been killed on the hard shoulder had been there for less than 26 minutes on average. The rumble strips between the hard shoulder and the near side lane have to be replaced every few months because they are worn out so quickly by vehicles wandering to the left. Thanks to the advance notice on this wonderful forum I was warned in advance and managed to leave Hamble early at 16:50, then through the town centre and up Shirley High Street to North Baddesley and home in Chandlers Ford just after 18:00. Not trusting the traffic we rushed to catch the 18:14 train with a minute to spare. Not a bad show if you like cats. -
You have relatives in Nigeria?? Please tell me their bank account numbers

I thought you were predicting that Norwich would be away.
