  1. Probably is TBH. Schmeichel would have been on a decent enough wedge at Man City. County paid nearly £700k for him and he could be playing at a much higher level (he didn't go there for the love of it).
  2. After Saturday's free kick this line could be..... He strikes the ball, He'll never miss,
  3. I wonder how many goals he'll score once he's learnt it?
  4. I think the way ML did it, is the ONLY way to make money out of football. Of course, if that is the deal, he also needs to know when to get out because any money made in the first 5 years (by progressing up the leagues) can easily be swallowed up by debt at a later date.
  5. I didn't realise we were playing against the clock, Countdown stylee!! Anyway, I was agreeing with the Radio Times. Next year however...........
  6. I thought we'd already ascertained that Saturday (for these purposes) counted as a working day and therefore qualifies as Boxing Day. Whereas Sunday can not be a Boxing Day, so next year the 26th is Christmas Sunday and the 27th is Boxing Day?
  7. Nope! Full Premier League programme tonight and tomorrow.
  8. I reckon 4 points, plus 3 against Exeter that falls in between and we'll be in reasonable shape.
  9. They don't seem too confident or bothered. http://www.pinkun.com/cs_pinkun/cs/forums/1928041/ShowPost.aspx http://www.pinkun.com/cs_pinkun/cs/forums/1928394/ShowPost.aspx
  10. I see that Sven's man Backe has left them now. He's only been there a matter of weeks.
  11. I think they'll overtake Charlton for automatic promotion TBH.
  12. That'll be down to Ken Bates' supporters charter. That'll probably be a no then!!
  13. I think it was a "defining moment" because it has caught on to such an extent that ALL the stadium was singing it. From now on, I'd imagine, it will only get better and better and louder and louder.
  14. £12 yesterday, £18 today (unless of course, you are a ST holder). http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~1879422,00.html
  15. Even more bizarre is that they still owe Tottenham for Defoe, even though he has been "repossessed".
  16. The Guardian report that they still owe Chelsea a "seven figure sum" for Glenn Johnson. Surely this is something the football authorities have to look at? Clubs, when trading players, should surely be obliged to pay off any outstanding debt on that player, before banking the transfer fee. What they've allowed Portsmouth to do here is akin to selling a house and banking the money without paying off the mortgage.
  17. Ah! I can see where you went wrong now!!
  18. I don't know about actually making money but I suspect that the average crowds are well above what was originally expected and budgeted for. Think that is probably one of the reasons, they have brought forward the plans for Staplewood and the fact that Cortese said the cost would be coming out of this year's operating budget.
  19. Jesus, even funnier than that is the comment below by "P*mpey Chap" ROFL
  20. The woman's team won it last year after winning the world cup at the end of 2008. I agree though they probably had a better 2009 as a whole, than the men but in cricket, the Ashes (men's) is everything.
  21. Update on the Exeter game. Over 21,000 sold already. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1904729,00.html
  22. Don't need a tv commentator to tell me what's going on on the pitch. I've got good enough eyesight to see for myself. It's not however the same game that Motson describes. About time they went down the route of cricket and got people who know what they are talking about describing the action.
  23. He was bloody lucky not to IMO.
  24. What's the difference? They all get paid good money to talk sh!te about football.
  25. I'll add Sussex and Northants CCC's to that list and because of Benitez, I'm getting the strange feeling of wanting Manyoo to do better than Liverpool at the moment.
