How do you work that out? They won enough points to get into the playoffs. They won the playoffs. They won enough points to escape relegation, despite being odds on for it at the beginning of last season. They are currently outside the relegation zone.

Am I the only one that thinks that that version is toooo slllloooow? The Dell version was always kept in time by the stamping on the upper west/upper east stand wooden floor boards, at the tempo of the version they used to play as the teams came on the pitch, which was of course much slower than the crappy clappy version the Northam sing. The difference is like an old vinyl record being played at different speeds. The Northam wants to sing it at 78 rpm, on Saturday (once around the whole ground) it was sung at 33 rpm. What is wrong with the correct tempo 45 rpm?

Saints 3-0 Tranmere Rovers: Post Match Reaction
krissyboy31 replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
That is if it accidentally deflects, ricochets or bounces off the defender, not if he actually plays it. The linesman let him off a c*ck-up, no different than if he had given a short back pass to the keeper (or do you still maintain, that would have been off-side?) -

So the vast majority of Ruud Van Nistlerooy's goals didn't count then? As soon as FIFA brought in the 1st phase second phase rule, it has been fair game to stand in an off-side position. If Waigo makes an attempt to play it before the defender does, he is off-side. Once the defender plays it he his on-side. -

As I said on the other thread. Completely wrong! The ball didn't just hit or flick off the player he actually played at it (his fault he completely c*cked up his header) therefore another phase of play begins and his header puts Waigo on-side. -
I agree. In a two legged cup-tie, penalties decide the winner of the tie but in a one off match penalties decide the winner of the match.

What would be the point? No-one bar NC and Murray know the true facts and therefore NC would say "definitely" and IM would say "no way Jose!!" If in NC's mind, the Echo abused a trust, then it is his prerogative (as Executive Chairman) to take away their privileges, regardless if everybody else believes that to be harsh or uncalled for!! I for one, think it was intended as a shot across the bows that escalated when Murray decided to publish his petty editorial.

Should Pardew rest players in JPT game ahead of Leeds?
krissyboy31 replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Correct, except the stadium announced (Glavin?) kept saying that we need decent support on Tuesday to cheer the boys onto a decent first-leg advantage. -
Can't stand Motson or Jonathan f'ing Pearce.
-
P*mpey, Spurs, Manyoo, Leeds (United and Rhinos) Newcastle, Birmingham City, Burnley, West Ham, Charlton, Palace and Hull Kingston Rovers.

TBF he is the current PFA player of the year and scored his 100th Premier League goal at Fartton Park and broke the PL appearance record for an outfield player.

Rest the ones on four bookings, otherwise play the strongest team available. -
Bit harsh to throw him out for that!

No. I was in the queue for the Bovrils, when 10 or so Stewards frog marched somebody out past us but missed what it was about.

Disagree 100%. Van Nistlerooy made a career of standing in an offside position and picking up the second phase, when played onside by circumstances. In the Prem or other top leagues in Europe, Waigo would have been adjudged onside. -

TBH nearly all of our attacking play went wide up the right hand side but their left back (easily their best player) had Antonio (easily our worst) in his pocket. -
And another one bites the dust..... Brian Laws has been sacked as Sheff Wed. manager. Had a poor start to the season but thought he'd done a reasonable job in the last few seasons. I guess managers are only really judged on the here and now!

I'd be happy enough with ML joining in the lap of honour on the Wembley pitch, at 5pm on 29th May 2010.

Certainly the smallest away following at St Mary's for a Saturday game, that said surprised it was over 300, looked more like 150 to me.

As I posted in the Tranmere build up thread: Doing well and commands the are much better than KD IMO (his extra height allows him to come for more crosses).

krissyboy31 replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
Difference being 1 match for 5 bookings and 2 for being sent off. Was correctly taken off as soon as the 2 goal cushion was achieved. Could easily have been sent off for the second trip (not long after his booking), for which he was lectured by the Ref. -
FL1 attendances this season - Saints are third atm

There was 3,000 away fans for that match not the 300 of yesterday. -
Southampton/Portsmouth,city of culture joint bid!
krissyboy31 replied to saint lard's topic in The Lounge
No way Southampton could have bid on it's own and they jumped on the bandwagon with P*rtsmouth as means to an end to get their "cultural quarter" finally built. Neither of which is ever going to happen IMO. It's a pity both cities couldn't have got together to make a joint bid for the world cup, then once P*mpey pulled the plug, we would have still been in the race. -
Signed a 3 year deal in August for (reportedly) £4Million.

I agree but the standard of reporting in the Echo, in relation to what it was 5 (or so) years ago, is very poor. In this day and age, where information is so readily available on the net and through other media, local newspapers need to really step up to the mark, in order to survive. Unfortunately, the Echo falls way short and Murray has to take the lions share of the blame for that.
