Please let this be true. Ras can and will score the goals to give us a good chance of getting out of this league. AP, put your arm around him and promise to make him the key man up front. If Saga isn't interested in staying then get a pacy partner for him to play off. Come on Greg, give us a chance. You could be a hero this season.

Saga is worth around 500k but Raz has got to be worth 1m+ IMO. If Saga isn't bothered then I don't mind him going but Raz would be a big loss. If I was AP I'd be kissing his arse to stay.

Between -1 and +1.

Good article. I'm a big fan of Nigel Clough (and was a big fan of his dad) and think he's going to become a top manager in time. If Derby stick with him they will do very well for themselves. If AP could emulate what NC is doing at Derby I'd be happy. This club desperately needs some stability now.
-
Real Shame, was hoping he'd be a big part of a promotion push but that's life I guess. Thanks for the goals SJ and best of luck to you. Let's hope we can: - Get a decent replacement. - Keep Rasiak (looking unlikely at the moment).
-
About the same as hearing a Rupert Lowe apology.....
-
Hope this isn't true. If he goes then keeping Rasiak becomes an even bigger priority.

Don't agree Cowesboy, what fans really want to see is endeavour by the players. Why was Frannie Benali so popular? It wasn't because he was the most talented but rather that he gave it everything. If the team gives it their all then most fans will stick with them.
-
I'd try everything to keep him as we'd need 2 players to replace his goal scoring power (IMO), probably a striker + a goal scoring midfielder. Keeping Rasiak would be as big a coup as keeping KD and would be a big statement of intent. Of course if he really wants to go then that's life but while he's here we should try everything to keep him.
-
I really hope Raz stays. Who cares if he doesn't run around a lot - he will score 25+ in this league and that is all that counts when you are paid to score goals.
-
He only really plays to his potential when he's looking for a contract. Shame because his potential is very good but he has to be bothered. Wih Raz & John we don't really need him IMO. I'd sell him for anything north of 750k.
-
I think Rasiak & John are already good enough but adding Lita to the forward line would be a mouthwatering prospect. PS Isn't it great to be talking about players again rather than the boardroom!!
-
From what I've read so far about AP if he isn't consistently 'interested' then he's not going to last too long here. That said I guess AP thinks he can consistently bring out his good side in which case we may have a decent player on our hands.

If I'd bought the club I'd give Lawrie a permanent seat in the directors box. Hell I'd name a stand after him - he's a legend. Some of our greatest ever players only came here because of Lawrie and when he left we had the likes of LeTissier, Shearer and Wallace about to come through the ranks. If I met him I'd thank him. He is on a par with LeTiss for me.

I can't believe the criticism of Rasiak - the guy is a proven goal scorer in the Coke (let alone this league) who the other clubs would love to have. If we play a Rasiak\John combo up front they will score a shed load of goals and give us a decent chance of playoffs IMO. If any 1 of the 3 established strikers has to go it's Saga for me - he only seems to play to his full potential (which is very good) when he's looking for a contract (though I'd rather he stayed). At the moment the strikers (plus KD) are the one area of this team that looks really good - assuming we can keep these guys.
-
Would rather have Rasiak\John up front.
-
It's a solid rather than spectacular appointment, but thats no bad thing. For me the question is 'has AP got what it takes to get us back to the prem?' - The answer is definately. If he can repeat his exploits with Reading\W.Ham then he's going to be a roaring success here. Welcome to the madhouse AP.
-
Agree but would rather see John\Rasiak up front. It probably won't happen but if we could keep all 3 then the forward line is looking v.good. Just need a battling CH and 1\2 combative midfielders and I think we've got a decent looking team.
-
Best of luck to the guy but unlike KD I guess he didn't fancy his chances of getting a new contract. Says it all really.
-
..... and if TA was appointed and went on to win the first 10 games then every supporter would be drooling over him. A lot of fans are very fickle. Of course it's up to the BoD to appoint the manager and they will go for whoever they think is the best choice, doesn't stop us having a little fun speculating though. Whoever it is I'll back them.
-
Yes, to write off Shearer after 8 odd games in charge of a basket case of a club that always looked like relegation material is ridiculous. He made a mistake taking that job as it was a no win appointment carried out over an inadequate time scale - but to write him off on the evidence of 8 games is nuts. Adams on the other hand has had a decent crack at the whip and has done nothing of substance. The record of these two guys are very different.

The Ajax game could be a bit of a horror show. Not sure if it's a good one for the boss to bring his mates to.......
-
Although Strachan did fantastic here and got the team very fit the football was a bit robotic at times. KK would have us playing exciting stuff and has a brilliant promotion track record (as far as I know). He'd get us back to the prem. However he's getting older and I'm wondering if he'd be better at DoF with a young, hungry, energetic and driven protige under him - one that commands huge respect amongst players and fans, knows KK extremely well, is currently available and has strong connections to SFC - step forward Alan Shearer........
-
KK or Shearer = manager LeTiss on the board

Great news. Now if we can keep John and Rasiak (they would destroy defences in this league), get 1 or maybe 2 combative midfielders for a bit of steel in the middle and a good battling centre half then I think we'll have a shout at the playoffs. Now that our financial situation has dramatically changed I wonder if we won't be seeing more wavering players stay, just a shame it came too late for Surman and Dave McG but thats life I guess.
