  1. A damning article which makes a strong case for banning L**e from ever being involved with any football club again. I wouldn't wish him on my worst enemy. That was a truly shocking way to run a multi million pound corporation.
  2. So we have a bloated squad which lacks true quality......surely the tell tale sign of a L**e chairmanship. It's going to take us a few years to fully purge the stench from this club.
  3. Surely a guy like Saeijs would be much better + he wants to play here.
  4. From the OS Sounds like manna from heaven. Welcome aboard Dean.
  5. The core problem so far this season is that we haven't had a robust ball winner in the middle of the park. This was Wotton's job and he hasn't done it. As a consequence Schneiderlin (who the jury is most definately out for me) and the wide men get no possession and the midfield cannot get any traction going forward. It also means that our quality strikers are starved of ball and the defence gets put under non stop pressure. Inevitably they will crack, heads will drop and the whole cycle from last season is repeated. Fingers crossed Hammond will make a big difference but we also need a quality wide man to act as an outlet for him. No good him winning ball after ball if the rest of the midfield do nothing with it. I'd also be tempted to get a 2nd midfield general too (shame we couldn't have got the other Colchester midfielder they just sold) and put Schneiderlin on the bench. After that I'd say we need a no nonsense centre half (Saeijs?) to create a solid defensive unit. If we can fill these positions and keep hold of Ras\Saga then I think we have a team that will keep us clear of danger this season and hopefully push on for promotion next. I've been impressed with what AP has brought in so far so I think we need to just get behind the team and let him get on with it. Turning a failing team around is no easy thing but AP knows the problems and I think with everyone's support he'll get us moving in the right direction again.
  6. Looks like an excellant signing. We've been waiting for a commanding CM for ages and finally we might just have one. If Hammond can do the ball winning duties Schneiderlin will then be able to open up his passing game. This means that the wide men and strikers should get better service. The lack of bite in CM has been at the heart of our problems - hopefully this will solve it. Got to say it feels great to be the club that is doing the raiding rather than the one being asset stripped!
  7. He looks a pretty determined guy - someone you want in the trenches with you, great signing. Just need to sort out the service and he'll tear this division up.
  8. I'd rather try and keep Rasiak - he is much better at scoring goals if he gets the service. Top priority is a ball winning central midfielder, a good wide midfielder and a decent centre half.
  9. Not surprised the defence leak goals - we have no midfield. AP needs to get a tough no nonsense center midfielder and a wide man. This is a bit radical but I wonder if it's worth bypassing the midfield altogether and having a back 5, 2 up front with a man in the hole and 2 defensive players in midfield acting as a shield (Gillet\Schneiderlin), the full backs doubling up as wingers. Why attempt to put out a midfield when we don't appear to have one? Maybe time for a bit of Taylor'esque hoofball till we get a midfield that can do its job.
  10. As far as CBs are concerned wasn't Saeijs interested in a return? Before everyone starts to panic this has to be put into perspective - we lost away to one of the favourites when we have had barely 4 weeks to prepare. It's shouldn't be a big surprise to most fans. That said I think we badly need a competitive midfield. I'd put top priority on a ball winning midfield general and a quality wide man. No point in having the best strikers if we can't service them.
  11. From a NCFC perspective its a poor poor decision. Really, if NCFC want to see what a managerial merry go round does to a club then they need to look no further than L**e and his **** poor record here. It's guaranteed failure! Also why did they let him rebuild the team then sack him almost instantly? Shades of the Sturrock debacle...... If I was a NCFC fan I'd be pretty upset about it, especially as the guy was a bit of a Canary legend but as a SFC fan I'm quite happy. If one of our rivals wants to shoot itself in the foot then that's fine by me!
  12. Well if GR is to go then I'd still play him till the time he goes, I want to see what a Rasiak\Lambert partnership could do in this league. Hopefully he'll have a change of heart because he'd be lethal in this div, esp with a guy like Lambert setting him up.
  13. Decent draw, great chance for the lads to see how well they can do against prem opposition. Hopefully by the time of the game we will be confidently in the winning way and Brum will have had their backsides kicked a few times. If we play well I think it's winnable.

    Lambert

I really hope we can keep Rasiak, he'll do the business in this league for sure. Hopefully the statement of intent made by the signing of Lambert might pursuade him to stick around. Lambert\Rasiak combo = 50 goals+. As for Saga - although he put some effort in on Sat (with poor service) his departure won't bothered me too much.

    Lambert

Now we have a goal machine we need a good ball winning midfield general + a good wide man to give him some service.

    Lambert

The guy looks like a league 1 Alan Shearer. With 29 goals last season and 1 already this season he looks like another cracking signing.
  17. Janker's almost 35 now so if he's kept himself in good nick he could still be OK for 1 or poss 2 seasons. Never rated him as an international but he could smash this league to bits. Can't ever see him coming here but a theoretical front line of him + Rasiak would be scary (for the opposition that is). However no matter how good a striker is he still needs service and our midfield do not look capable at the moment of giving decent service. Therefore I'd rather spend my cash on a good ball winning central midfielder + a good wide midfielder. Sort out the midfield and we already have strikers that can score!
  18. Millwall will be there or thereabouts at the end so not a bad result. Midfield is too lightweight though, really need 1 or 2 battlers in there. 9 points till parity!
  19. If he puts some real heart into his performances then I'd welcome him staying but so far I think he's really underperformed for us. If they roll their sleeves up Raz + Saga could go through this division like a knife through butter.
  20. Millwall. If we could scrape the playoffs I'd fancy our chances.
  21. Got to agree with that, sounds very good. I think we still need one or two combative midfielders (Holland?) and keep Rasiak and I think we'll have a very good looking team for this season.
  22. SJ is right - he was treated badly by the club (i.e. R****t L**e). I also completely understand why he would rather play at a higher level at this late stage of his career. Best of luck Stern and thanks for the goals but you've moved on and this is all water under the bridge now. Draw a line and move on.
  23. IN Custard Creams OUT Marmite
  24. 1-1 or failing that 2-1 to us. Rasiak to get at least 1 goal.
  25. I've always liked Trundle but is he as good as he was and would he accept a realistic wage? If the answers are yes then at 32/33 he could still do a good job for us for a year or two.
