  1. This 100%. Jesus we have some juvenile idiots and jump to massive conclusions based on feck all......not one of of you are on the board and knows whats going on behind the scenes, but you are all to willing to believe every bit of twitter, tabloid garbage etc and why????.....because we dont have a ridiculous board that come out every 5 minutes and deny every stupid press story!
  2. do any of you stop and think for one minute that players may have clauses in their contracts that allow them to talk to other clubs if a clause is triggered???.....suppose it is just easier to blame someone else.....seems to be the norm nowadays this blame culture....
  3. This would be my take on things
  4. why don't people give the board a chance and wait and see how things pan out before slating them and some slating KL ffs. I suppose everyone was really inspired when we signed a manager called Nigel Adkins and look how that worked out. The board are now having to show their mettle and should be judged on what happens next!......Poch was always leaving the minute the Don walked out. He was in control of that.....i don't believe for one minute the board could have changed his mind....and to be fair once he had shown no desire to be here then the board would have been right with the approach of only wanting someone they believed was totally committed.
  5. OK, can someone that bothers to look on other club forums answer this.....Are our fans the most miserable, pessemistic wrist slitting bunch?....or are most forums the same?
  6. Every club in the Premiership is a stepping stone bar the top four and even they cannot hold onto players if they want to go!....Van Persie from Arsenal to Man Utd......its the way of football, nothing stands still. We still have our club and we will still have a team to support.....part of me thinks this might just rattle KL who "might" think "i'm not going to let everything my dad built here dissappear"....i can see a scenario where we tempt a big name manager here with the promise of every £ of any transfer fee we might get and more....just a hunch.....but whatever we still have our club......want to trade places with Portsmouth???
  7. due to the number of wet fannies here this forum should officially rename itself to the "whore house forum"!
  8. Firstly i am not saying this means Poch is off and this is a possible replacement....but Chris Hughton was at the Grand Harbour hotel today.....he could have been there for anything completely unrelated to football and i gather there was a very large party there. Before you ask my source i can say its impeccable and i have seen the photographic evidence. The fact he was happy to have his picture taken with someone suggests its probably unrelated to Poch possibly going but i thought i would share!
  9. At the moment none of us on here know whats going on, thats the only FACT on here, the rest is pure speculation on ever changing press stories.......However IF Poch is leaving for Spurs then i can not blame him and i would have to assume it is because he has not got the re-assurances about players he wanted. Anyone that honestly thinks Spurs are not bigger than us really needs to take a hard look at themselves. Totally agree the managers job there is a poisoned chalice and i cant personally think why anyone would take it, BUT the players they have are decent and i'm sure MP can do a dam sight better with them than Sherwood (and no i don't rate him but thats not for here and now). We are not a Man Utd that are millions in debt but hey ho thats how they do things, we are not owned by a Russian with more money than sense or a Man City that have just been fined how many millions?......we are Southampton, a club that was always destined to not eat at the top table unless bought out by someone with no common sense at all. KL and her father had a plan but that never ever included pouring and pouring money into the club for ever and ever. We have had a brilliant ride and i have loved every minute and WILL continue to support SFC no matter who is at the helm and who is on the pitch. I look at it as a new chapter about to begin....it may not be as good as previous chapters but thats the mystery1
  10. I despair, anyone would think the club is about to cease to exist the way some people go on on this forum......get a grip ffs!
  11. having digested what the Don has had to say for the last couple of hours has certainly not helped me feel any better about our current situation. Will be very interesting to see what happens in the next couple of months and indeed the next couple of weeks when i think we will know if we will be looking for a new manager and having to replace some of our best players. The only small shred of comfort i draw from the Dons comments are those about MP. I think he may well of adviced MP to stay put for now and not put his head on the block in a job like the Spurs manager. Obviously this was probably all prior to the Don leaving and Poch may have other thoughts now.....but one thing does make sense, Poch and his team keep saying they don't understand the English obsession with contract talks because he has another year left on it....i think its quite possible he intends to see out that year and then evaluate his position. Just my opinion. I don't think the Don knows anymore than you and i what is going on regarding possible transfers. I can't see any of our board or KL phoning him and saying we have had this or that offer for Luke/Adam etc etc. He is purely speculating the obvious, that other clubs will be interested in our players and that he would have done his best to prevent anyone leaving. Love him or hate him, he had a vision, the manager and the players bought into it.....unfortunately KL decided some of his power hold needed reigning in....and to be fair its her money.
  12. Nothing much for anyone to moan about in that. What he says is pretty much as most of knew already......and i have no doubt that if he were still at the helm we would not have as much uncertaintity about the manager and top players staying. I really don't think anyone can doubt he sold his vision to the players.....ok i totally accept he was playing a game of monopoly as none of the money being spent was real to him
  13. It does make me laugh on here sometimes. Lets see, since the anti christ went KL has opened the doors of St Marys to the ex hero's of past glorious seasons and her new staff have tried to re-instill the importance of our clubs history.......but without any of us knowing the FACTS of why Dodd and Williams have had there contracts terminated certain posters are reaching for that big red panic button and assumming the club is about to implode. Why? because they don't come out every 5 minutes infront of some irratating Echo reporter and tell the whole world about everything that is going on every day inside the corridors of SFC. Do people honestly think that SFC have terminated the contracts of these two without a very good reason? especially if it is not related in anyway to Poch's future?.......come on get a grip and try enjoying the summer and the world cup without worrying every 5 minutes that our club is not updating us on the renaming of the LeTissier suite.
  14. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised or concerned about the lack of a definate statement from MOPO stating he is staying at SFC no matter what. Personally for what its worth i believe MP who has shown he is a very shrewd and clever man when dealing with the British press is again being very shrewd and clever but this time with the Saints board. MP knows he could now walk into some very good jobs if he wanted them, his stock has gone up massively this season. He currently has a brilliant young team that IF kept together and with a few quality additions will be challenging next season to break into that top 6. Why would he move now when he has that?.....He is unlikely to get one of the top 4 team jobs so if its here in the UK he stays who else? Spurs....personally i don't see it. Everton...won't happen, Man Utd....ditto. IF the SFC board match his ambitions and dont sell our best players i believe he will stay.....he is playing the waiting game and i personally don't blame him one bit.....and so are the players IMHO
  15. love watching MOPO doing interviews, he already knows what answers to give before his translator asks the question......there is nothing wrong with his English, he is just very shrewd with English journos....and quite rightly so in my opinion.
  16. 8/9, it has been brilliant watching this young team grow and play such entertaining football.
  17. It may seem an outlandish view but here it is for what its worth.....I think our previous chairman honestly thought we could break into the top 4 and hence the signings of Gaston and Osvaldo....Osvaldo i believe was the firepower he believed we needed, and we all know how that ended. As much as i like Gaston and believe he is very talented, he is not the correct player for the Premier league. Once we started to fall away from the top 6 before xmas and Osvaldo then turned into physco nut job it was obvious we were not going to be a top 4 side (lets be honest it was never going to happen but i kind off admire the ex chairman for his belief and vision). Everything since then has shown that we did not want to qualify for the Europa cup....and at risk of upsetting those that wanted to see us march into Europe i personally believe we would have been mad to contemplate Europe with the size of squad we have.
  18. hope i'm wrong here but i can't see us pick up another win in the remaining games. Jay Rod is a massive loss and one we can not fill at the moment. I can't see Adam, Rickie or Luke risking injury so close to the world cup now especially after seeing what happened to their team mate and to be honest that goes for the rest of the players that may have world cup aspirations.
  19. anyone that honestly would replace a cup with our premiership status is mad. We haven't been a mediocre mid table premiership side playing dull hoof football.....we have been totally entertained by this brilliant young side. There have not been many games this season where we have not played wonderful football....can anyone immagine this side with the likes of Sturridge and Suarez leading our front line (no disrespect to our current strikers)......anyone thinking we would keep hold of this quality bunch of lads in the Championship is deluded.....a cup would be nice but not at the sacrifice of our Premiership status.
  20. Thanks for that Trousers. Gives a good indication that we have little to worry about.....i would have sleepless nights if i were a fan of some of those clubs with massive debt
  21. looking at the statement today i feel quite positive about the future of our club. I bet if you compared our club debt to every other Premiership club we would be in a very healthy position! Out of interest i was speaking to someone at the weekend who is part of the Portsmouth fan consortium and to put things into perspective you only have to look at Portsmouth to see how bad management at every level and taking massive gambles can kill a club. This guy was very pessemistic about Portsmouth future.....he had no reason to lie to me, we were just two blokes disscussing football and the way our clubs are run. It must have been very hard for him to admitt to a Saints fan that their club is dying due to ridiculous management.....oh and the F.A.Cup, yep you can guess where you can shove that now.....it will count as nothing to him if they completely dissapear!
  22. why do you find the need to start new threads to just go on about the same stuff you do in every other thread. You really do need to get out and enjoy the sun more....you might even find mixing with real people is fun!
  23. I'm not sure the title should be "Is the Europa league beyond us".....more "do we want Europa football next season".....personally i think our current squad is too thin of quality to compete both in the premiership and the Europa league. We have a very strong 15 players at best and then we are paper thin. I'm sure Saints have looked at other clubs that have qualified for Europa league that have similar squad depths as us and seen them struggle...Fulham and Swansea spring to mind. Forget what the fans want, and i'm sure we all want to see Saints playing in Europe BUT i don't think we are ready for it and our attitude towards the cups would seem to back this up. Just my opinion.
  24. City not having a good week lol. Nice to see MP there, i think that shows his committment to be there for this game at the tail end of the season. Looks very promising that he will stay.
  25. over 40 years of watching Saints and seeing some very good Saints sides in those 4 decades i can honestly say the current team is the best footballing side i have ever seen wear the shirt.
