  1. Have to say this is pretty much how i feel about the situation
  2. Would obviously love us to get a positive result after the turmoil of the last few days.....but totally ****ed off with whats happened and feeling totally negative about the clubs future.Predict a 3-0 loss.
  3. Personally i don't give a rats arse what he was like as a person....what i care about is the football club and on that basis i thank him for saving our club and everything he has done since that has seen our dramatic rise to where we are now. In over 40 years of supporting SFC i can honestly say he has been the best chairman we have had in my lifetime.
  4. I cannot believe for one moment she has any interest in SFC and why would she? It was her fathers play thing and i bet she thought he was barking when he bought us. I strongly suspect she has just been waiting for the right time to make her move and sell the club.....and she won't care who she sell to so long as she gets her price....if i sound ****ed off then you are right...i am!
  5. I can not see how this is good news for the club in anyway at all. Totally the opposite in fact.....unless Cortese has been been plotting with new investors to buy the club. However i fear this may just be wishful thinking. The manager nailed his colours to Corteses post and many of the players have also done the same, believing in the way Cortese was taking us forward. If he does not return quickly or a mega rich owner is waiting in the wings to buy us i can only see us going one way....and its not good!
  6. personally would be very surprised if Cortese was to go as there is no way his project is finished and he is not the type of man to leave at the halfway stage......however without knowing if there really is something going on with the the Liebber family its difficult to guage. If the Liebbers are making demands that do not sit comfortably with Cortese or are not what Cortese believes were Markus wishes then in these circumstances i could see him leaving because he is driven and passionate. Personally i think it would be a disaster for SFC and i could see every bit of good that has been achieved in the last few years being undone extremely quickly!
  7. I would say i'm gob smacked by some of the negative comments but after seeing some of the negative dross on other threads i have to say i'm not surprised!......This has been an excellent exciting season so far, seeing our youngsters blooded and performing brilliantly. We play exciting pressing football, far better than anything we have seen for years. I have loved the first half of the season.
  8. It is an awful lot of money but i would say no thanks.....Luke Shaw is a class act who will hopefully only get better.....if MC are really interested its because they know £30 mill would be a brilliant investment for an 18 year old that could give them years of service. And as some have quite rightly pointed out he has great attacking potential which will only get better in the next couple of seasons.....if Gareth Bale is worth £90 mill then Shaw is cheap at £30 mill. No Saints should not accept it unless Shaw really states he wants to go and they would run the risk of losing him cheaply....even then i dont think that would happen.
  9. strange game to watch. WBA came with a plan to keep eleven behind the ball when they didnt have possession and consequently surrendered possession to Saints for the majority of the game and hoped we wouldnt break them down.....and for long periods it looked that way. I said at half time to my son that this game was crying out for Ramirez to unlock WBA and what a lovely pass it was for Adams goal. We never looked in any danger of losing as WBA never committed players forward until we scored. Boruc then earned his pay with a good block and the defence held firm. Would have been an injustice if we had not won.
  10. This is how i see it.....Saints are not interested in selling RL. However if WH were to make us a silly offer and give RL a big last pay day i think the club might be inclined to say to Rickie that they will not stand in his way if its what he wants out of respect for the service he has given us. I think the club would put the ball firmly in Rickies court....for the club its a win win situation....they are not seen to force Rickie out, indeed the opposite and they get a decent fee. The downside is off course we lose a very influential player on the pitch and off!
  11. excellent draw for us, shame most of the big boys also got very favourable ties as well
  12. how about we get the chance to deny Man Utd the chance of Champions league footbal by beating them on the last day of the season. I will happily get quite excited about that!
  13. was always excited by the F.A. Cup as a kid and lucky enough to see us win in 76, those memories are never likely to be repeated. Although part of me thinks we should rest alot of the first team because the Premier League is ultimately what its all about...the other part of me wants us to field our strongest side and take the competition deadly serious. We have a great opportunity to progress but i'm not so sure our management are overly bothered.....and in part if thats the case i do understand it.
  14. why anyone would get irritated by this i cannot fathom. All i can say is we must have some miserable fans that can not see what is being built at Southampton. We have the most exciting team we have had in years. They are a young side that will only improve and there is no reason why these lads can not achieve what the club has set out as its goal. Self belief cannot be measured. I have enjoyed every minute of this season, even the blip we have gone through recently because the football has still been good and you can see the self belief the lads have. We are not the finished article and no one at the club has said we are......we are a work in progress and we have continued to improve!
  15. I can not believe for one minute that there is a chance of Poch being sacked. We have one of the most exciting Saints teams i have ever seen playing some fantastic football and i have been watching Saints for over 40 years so i've seen some good Saints sides. The players are playing for the manager and that is evident to anyone watching that doesnt have an agenda! Every side has ups and downs during the season and the most die hard Saints fans knew our brilliant start would not last once injuries and suspensions kicked in....what none of us expexted was the horrible bad luck we got when we did pick up injuries. Has Poch improved the team and the way we play....hell yes!...and anyone that can not sees that needs to have their eyes checked. We are a work in progress and we have improved year on year since NC took over and we have improved since Poch took over as manager.
  16. someone needs to do theirs Maths again me thinks!
  17. what a load of rubbish has been spouted on here about Gazzinga. How anyone can fault him for either goal is laughable. As soon as we lose or conceed a goal some on here can not wait to blame someone or have a scapegoat. Get behind whoever is in goal on Wednesday night. We lost on Sunday because we were not good enough all over the park, nothing brilliant up front, midfield was not firing on all cylinders and we made mistakes at the back.....not one persons fault!!
  18. I laugh every time this stupid subject rears its ugly head. I hope Poch never gives an interview in English, its hysterical seeing so many on here getting so worked up about it as if it really matters. How many times have people got to be told he speaks perfectly decent English but is sensible enough to use a translator for the British press....Anyhow i perfectly understand what he is saying and its all good!
  19. I'm just totally enjoying the ride while it lasts. It does remind me alot of WBA last season and i fully expect us to go off the boil at some point. The big plus for us is the World cup looming.....we genuinely have a number of players that are all in with a shout of going to the World Cup finals and i would expect them to be giving everything and more to be on that plane. One of the main differences about this set of players under Poch is the mental strength and belief....it is evident out there every Saturday that they fully believe they deserve to be where they are and are as good as anyone in this league.....go onto the pitch with that attitude and you are in with a shout......much better than teams of old that went out knowing they were inferior and fully expected to get beat!Have massively enjoyed watching the brand of football we are producing.
  20. I think we have set out our stall this season and the league is and always should be our priority. I fully expect us to field a side of squad players tonight and believe this has been the intention in this cup competition since the start of the season......as a fan i always want to see us do well in the cups and another chance to get to a final looks so possible. However i do realise that the club is not yet an Arsenal, Chelsea or Man City and able to have a second 11 that would rival most other clubs. Do we risk our first team players in this cup competition and risk losing them for the league??....the other point to consider and i'm sure the club has!...is how many of our players throughout the squad are being called up to play internationals and will do in friendlies between now and the world cup finals.....its a long season and i think the club is being sensible with the rotation policy in this cup competition.
  21. no way you can blame Boruc for the goal. I was watching the live stream and was absolutely gob smacked when it bounced like that an over Boruc....complete freak of a goal
  22. really hope we win obviously but i think our brilliant run will come to an end just because Stoke are an ugly side to play against.
  23. I like Gaston and think he has real talent.....but he just does not suit this league at all and has been given over a year to settle down and show his worth. I totally trust our management and if MoPo is not playing him then its because the rest of the squad have knuckled down, upped their game and are willing and more importantly believe and want to play for MoPo. I have no doubt that if he goes back to Italy or somewhere else in Europe he will be a big hit where the game is not so fast and physical. He is on very high wages and i would rather we sold him for a few million less than we paid for him rather than we carry on paying huge wages for a player that will hardly feature!
  24. Don't think its sad, if i wasnt working i would probably have watched myself. We are Saints fans and have an interest in our club and that man that has been leading us. Natural to be interested in what he has to say. Look forward to you posting the bulletin points from his speech.
