  1. I appreciate Alpine that you don't go to games and probably watch very few so to you the end result is all thats important. However i watch all the games and i want to see attractive football which no one can argue we MOST DEFINATELY DO PLAY! Yes like every other Saints fan i want to win every game but i accept that will not happen. I am perfectly happy with this season. The football has at times been brilliant and we have had some great results along the way. Do i want to watch the style West Ham play? no i dont and i dont care if they won the league playing that brand i still would not want to watch it if Saints played that way!
  2. I'm very tempted to say you are a complete tool Glasgow but obviously you would like that then you can you can accuse me of being a Mopo apologist. However i would point you in the direction of a good optician. The football this Saints side are producing is some of the best i have ever seen a Saints side play and i am well placed to make that judgement having followed the team for over 40 years. Yes we have lost games and yes we have lost games where we have totally outplayed the opposition, but the football has been a pleasure to watch and i have been entertained ever since Poch walked through the doors. Even yesterday we were very good for large parts of the game in particular the first half. We are minus a couple of pieces of the jigsaw puzzle.....we may never get them i accept that, but no one can say that we have not been entertained by a brilliant young Saints side since Poch arrived....and as much as i liked NA he did not have the side playing like this!
  3. The slit wristers have already started. We played very well for an awful lot of the game. The difference was exactly what i said it would be in the build up match thread, Liverpool take their chances and do not!....If you can take away the dissapointment of losing and look at it coldly you will see we have a very exciting team that will only get better. I'm not down after that performance.
  4. would loveto see us win. Two of my best friends are Liverpool supporters and would love to be able to give them some stick. That said i think Liverpool are terrific going forward and with SAS up front they are so dangerous. I think Liverpool will beat us because they will take their chances and we will not....thats where i believe the difference lies.
  5. My opinion has nothing to do with Saturdays result but rather what i think is a realistic view in this era. I don't for one moment think any decisions made at the club are made with consideration to what the fans of our club think and its my opinion that anyone that does think we are thought about is naive. Long gone are those romantic days. Its all about money and nothing more. It has been obvious from the first rounds of both cup competitions this season that we were not seriously interested in either and i am sure that this was a financial decision. Personally i think this says alot about where we are going. Don't get me wrong, i have loved the last 5 years, the ride has been fantastic and this season has been brilliant with the best football i have seen for years from a Saints side. I must confess i worry if those days are coming to an end. Whatever it has been a great ride.
  6. mate i know what you mean.....but being relegated, in administration and lol having Ryan Smith and Forecast in the team i accepted....afterall this was Saints and i was used to years of struggling with the occassional high point........but then Saints suddenly promised me so much and i dared to dream.....the last 2 weeks has left me with that feeling people are said to get before they die "impending doom" and like it or not thats what i have about our club now....god knows i hope i'm way wrong here. I'm starting to look less and less at this site and hate what its become.....I should have known better than to hope!
  7. to be honest i have lost all interest now after what has gone on in the last couple of weeks. 40+ years of supporting Saints and i have never felt like this.
  8. As i have already said, on the face of it this is a very encouraging statement from KL.......But as Saints fans we have all seen many false dawns and empty promises.....I will hope this statement is a true and positive intent.....but i'm not about to start shouting from the hill tops.....time is the only thing that will tell....and if the players buy into this statement of intent!
  9. On the face of it, it is a very encouraging statement. I believe in the good old saying "actions speak louder than words"
  10. Both Gaston and Lovren arrived at Southampton airport last night with the rest of the team. Both were in leg braces but in good spirits and laughing away with the rest of the lads. Team spirit looked really good and can only assume that neither player is as badly hurt as first thought.
  11. I want to remember Le Tiss as the player he was, the one player i would happily pay to watch. I have had the pleasure of playing with him after he retired and speaking to him on several occasions and everytime has been a pleasure. He is as normal as the next man on the street, no airs and graces.....for these reasons I wish he would just be very careful about what comments he passes on recent events....Alot of people on here are using the words "he was just an employee of the club" to describe NC....well that goes for ex players as well. Both men should be remembered by the fans for how they both saved this club, NC for getting Markus to invest in us and then running the club brilliantly and Le Tiss for almost single handedly keeping us in the top league season after season and staying loyal. Can we as fans not just accept these facts and not rip apart two men that have done so much for our club?
  12. Have to say this is pretty much how i feel about the situation
  13. Would obviously love us to get a positive result after the turmoil of the last few days.....but totally ****ed off with whats happened and feeling totally negative about the clubs future.Predict a 3-0 loss.
  14. Personally i don't give a rats arse what he was like as a person....what i care about is the football club and on that basis i thank him for saving our club and everything he has done since that has seen our dramatic rise to where we are now. In over 40 years of supporting SFC i can honestly say he has been the best chairman we have had in my lifetime.
  15. I cannot believe for one moment she has any interest in SFC and why would she? It was her fathers play thing and i bet she thought he was barking when he bought us. I strongly suspect she has just been waiting for the right time to make her move and sell the club.....and she won't care who she sell to so long as she gets her price....if i sound ****ed off then you are right...i am!
  16. I can not see how this is good news for the club in anyway at all. Totally the opposite in fact.....unless Cortese has been been plotting with new investors to buy the club. However i fear this may just be wishful thinking. The manager nailed his colours to Corteses post and many of the players have also done the same, believing in the way Cortese was taking us forward. If he does not return quickly or a mega rich owner is waiting in the wings to buy us i can only see us going one way....and its not good!
  17. personally would be very surprised if Cortese was to go as there is no way his project is finished and he is not the type of man to leave at the halfway stage......however without knowing if there really is something going on with the the Liebber family its difficult to guage. If the Liebbers are making demands that do not sit comfortably with Cortese or are not what Cortese believes were Markus wishes then in these circumstances i could see him leaving because he is driven and passionate. Personally i think it would be a disaster for SFC and i could see every bit of good that has been achieved in the last few years being undone extremely quickly!
  18. I would say i'm gob smacked by some of the negative comments but after seeing some of the negative dross on other threads i have to say i'm not surprised!......This has been an excellent exciting season so far, seeing our youngsters blooded and performing brilliantly. We play exciting pressing football, far better than anything we have seen for years. I have loved the first half of the season.
  19. It is an awful lot of money but i would say no thanks.....Luke Shaw is a class act who will hopefully only get better.....if MC are really interested its because they know £30 mill would be a brilliant investment for an 18 year old that could give them years of service. And as some have quite rightly pointed out he has great attacking potential which will only get better in the next couple of seasons.....if Gareth Bale is worth £90 mill then Shaw is cheap at £30 mill. No Saints should not accept it unless Shaw really states he wants to go and they would run the risk of losing him cheaply....even then i dont think that would happen.
  20. strange game to watch. WBA came with a plan to keep eleven behind the ball when they didnt have possession and consequently surrendered possession to Saints for the majority of the game and hoped we wouldnt break them down.....and for long periods it looked that way. I said at half time to my son that this game was crying out for Ramirez to unlock WBA and what a lovely pass it was for Adams goal. We never looked in any danger of losing as WBA never committed players forward until we scored. Boruc then earned his pay with a good block and the defence held firm. Would have been an injustice if we had not won.
  21. This is how i see it.....Saints are not interested in selling RL. However if WH were to make us a silly offer and give RL a big last pay day i think the club might be inclined to say to Rickie that they will not stand in his way if its what he wants out of respect for the service he has given us. I think the club would put the ball firmly in Rickies court....for the club its a win win situation....they are not seen to force Rickie out, indeed the opposite and they get a decent fee. The downside is off course we lose a very influential player on the pitch and off!
  22. excellent draw for us, shame most of the big boys also got very favourable ties as well
  23. how about we get the chance to deny Man Utd the chance of Champions league footbal by beating them on the last day of the season. I will happily get quite excited about that!
