  1. If that is his problem, it shows what a poor unprofessional attitude he has (and I think you are probably right). He thinks he is better than he is. He is consistently inconsistent, injury prone, and has a huge ego. If he was a decent pro, he’d be training like a beast, showing on the training ground what a fantastic work ethic he has, how fit he is, how determined and right up for the season ahead he is, and if not a first team starter, when he got his chance he’d get on the pitch and prove Ralph wrong for not starting him. Reality is he’ll go and have a little moan on social media, tell everyone how amazing he is and just sulk. He is Paul Pogba lite. And I think Paul Pogba is a terribly flawed player too for the same reasons as Mario. He is just better and has some reputation to fall back on.....over to you Mario. I think you could be our best player..... You’ve got to be bothered to show it though.....
  2. Let's just get rid of offside then? More goals (maybe *) and a whole lot of worry off of the lino (sorry assistant). * my wife used to play a high standard of hockey - ditched offside there and it didn't result in massive goal hanging. It's the rules that are carp,
  3. I’m confused.... They did the double over us last season. They ‘blew’ 35 million on a high quality player (Anderson) They finished 13 points and 6 places above us.... What’s not to laugh at?!
  4. I hope not. He is a far better player than Targett. It would make out first team weaker, defensively, not what we need....
  5. Expectations depend on who goes and who comes in. Get rid of the dross, sign a pacey forward, attacker and CB who are first team ready starters and we will be okay, 12-16th. Spend cheap on more unproven unknowns and we will be skirting with disaster again. I think two of three who come up will go straight down again. Norwich, Sheffield and Derby/ Villa are nothing special. A season of mediocrity awaits I fear. Which is an upgrade on the below average of the last three years!
  6. Spot on!
  7. Danny Ings is our joint top scorer from half the number of games the others have played. Against Arsenal his two goals were top quality. He is a good striker, and we would struggle to get better proven quality, for £20 million. We are 16th, who do you think Saints will sign, who is better and affordable? Honestly, those slagging him are deluded.
  8. If we start like we did at home to spurs, we will be 2-0 down in minutes. Keep them at bay until half time....who knows? Come on saints, beat them and help ruin their season!
  9. Great result Saints! Really eased the pressure off of us now with the 5 point gap. Pressure is all in Cardiff now.
  10. Get in there Saints you surprise merchants!!!! Who would have predicted that result at half time? Big win Saints - brilliant second half turnaround.
  11. Tadic scores a beauty. 3-0 Ajax and well deserved
  12. In fairness he wanted to go to Ajax to finish his career, and owed us nothing!
  13. I’m in a bar in Amsterdam watching them Vs Real. They love Tadic, and he has been brilliant tonight! Fingers crossed for the second half!
  14. Keep going lads - amazing turnaround after such a nervous start. Fantastic effort lets get to half time and regroup.
  15. We. Will. Get. Hammered unless we get ourselves sorted out fast!
  16. Solid and workmanlike Saints - excellent and crucial 3 points. Fulham are gone - woeful performance from them. JWP and Redmond I though excellent, defence all very solid. Good to have Bertrand back too. Valery is a solid defender but offers little going forward. I can't remember him crossing the ball or beating a man? Hopefully he can improve his attacking side. Great to see another win at home - we are much happier than the Fulham lot - they were most unhappy with Ranieri's substitutions, and their lot in life in general. Goes to prove spending loads doesn't always equal success.
  17. I’d have long up front with Austin so he can create some chances for him with his pace!
  18. Apart from they've let in 61 goals and we have let in 46.....which kind of disproves that theory! In fact they have the worst defence in the premier league...
  19. You’re right, I’d neglected Austin - I was thinking of starting players, I just think Austin is too slow and unfit to start - better against a tiring team? Our forward options are just so meh it hurts. I just hope, our owner Gao doesn’t think youth players are the answer to everything. If our future is youth players, not quality signings, we are done for. If not this season, it’ll be next. We are just so poor, so many substandard players in the squad, such poor recruitment, shortsightedness, seemingly tightness.
  20. 2-0 doesn’t dent the goal difference too much, better result than I feared looking at our feeble line up. Fulham is an absolute must win now, but it is for them too, should be an interesting game! Playing with no striker from the start shows how feeble our squad now is. Where the goals are supposed to come from with Ings and now obefemi out I have no idea. Releasing Gabbi seems an even stranger decision. Wednesday our choices are Long or Gallagher - that’s a league 1 strike force..... As others have said, win on Wednesday and this predictable result (and performance) will be forgotten. Lose or draw? Jesus the meltdown will be Chernobyl like.... We are struggling, we are playing poorly, we have injury woes, but for some unfathomable reason, I think we will just about scrape through this season and survive. Just.
  21. Wow - that lineup looks like we have rolled over ready to have our tummies tickled already! I hope I’m very wrong, but 4-1 Arsenal. Our goal will be an own goal!
  22. There isn’t a single Cardiff player that I wish Saints had. Hence I think our (slightly) better quality and tactics will see us through with a win!! I hope!
  23. 2-0 to Saints, our team quality will overcome Cardiff’s limited attributes. They are a championship side who have spent very little. Hard work and effort will only take them so far.... Hopefully!!
  24. I’d like a Saints team that is as good as it can be, plays an enjoyable to watch football style (it’s certainly improving, but clearly our current players are limited), and starts to recruit wisely!! Yeah I know the recruitment bit can be hit and miss, but we’ve had a hell of a lot more misses than hits recently... Some pacey players in the summer will help, we are very pedestrian all over the pitch, and pace is key if you want some measure of success. Academy players are fine, but only if good enough. Slattery starting today kind of suggests our squad is very limited versus what Koeman had. You’d normally blood young players as subs coming on with 10 minutes to go.... Shows how weak our squad is really. * yes I realise a number of sure starters are injured/away currently.
  25. Well played Saints - the whole team played well, good performance all round. Very solid from the midfield, Hoj was really driving us on and getting stuck in and being a general pain in the neck to Everton the whole game. Fab. Great JWP goal, he had a very good game as well. Redmond and Ings run their socks off, pressing Everton’s defence and keeper. Really good to see. Defended well, I thought Stephens was going to go all the way late in the second half! Good stuff boys, Ralph you legend!! Proud to be a Saints fan again tonight - keep it going, three in a row next week....
