That said, the players are a different makeup these days from the Venables, Hoddle and Eriksson era. They wanted to play for their country, whatever the fixture. Except maybe Sutton, and Scholes... though I could understand Scholes getting riled when he kept getting shoehorned in at left midfield.

You really need to stop being so one-track minded. You've picked up on a couple of things you didn't like about Davis and magnified them. I bet I could name you 2-3 or incidences every game regarding Forster (hence why I don't rate him, at all). Davis done fine. Yes, we know he's not a long-term solution but he's all we've got. Unless you consider Gazzaniga a better option... *shudder, shudder*

Thing is though, he won't go until he walks. He's probably the safest England manager, ever. Doesn't ruffle any feathers at all, so suits the FA blazers down to the ground. Shame Hoddle will never get the chance again....

Thank you, Whitey. I'm a bit bemused that people just can't seem to let go of certain things about posters and for want of a better term, incessantly bully them on here. Being of, er, less sensitive stock it doesn't bother me as much as it does amuse me.... Though it's very said that people find the need to do it... A gap in their real lives perhaps? I'm desperately delighted what I said didn't to go any further in the summer and pleasantly astonished by the way the club have performed. Despite this, I shouldn't have to beg for the rights to have an opinion on the team, the club, it's fans and it's players from anyone, neither should someone's opinion be denounced because of one or two posts on an internet forum. embarrassment? It's an internet forum. Literally the only people on here who get their knickers in a twist over other people having differing opinions are those who constantly snipe on the sidelines. No biggie if what I said in the summer didn't happen... I'm fact, I'm delighted it didn't. No biggie if I don't think Forster isn't a very good goalkeeper, I'm not alone in that school of thought either. But instead of accepting someone's opinion, there are those on here who would rather rile, mock and snipe from behind their computers. Good luck to them I say. Seriously, the people on here sometimes...

For what it's worth I agree with you.... None, most likely. In fact, I'd go as far to say almost the entire league has better options as first, second and third choice when it comes to goalkeepers. For example, I'd much rather have Schmechel and Hamer, Fabianski and Tremmel or Adrian and Jaaskelainen then our two or three. We did have one of the best in the division at one point.... Shame we had to p1ss him off. All down to KD now, good luck Kelvin.

League One goalkeeper with a couple of Premier League attributes. Not that much at fault yesterday. Hes better than Gazzanigga, but that's not saying much. Most of the goalkeepers in the Premier are better than him; Begovic, Adrian, Heaton, Schmeichel, Foster, Lloris, Ospina, De Gea, Cech, Courtois, Hart, Krul, Howard, Speroni... Prob fabianski and mignolet too. Our superb defence masks his vacuous deficiencies.
