  1. He's generally not that great a shot stopper... his highlights reels mainly consist of him being hit by the ball cos he's so big and in the way (which, btw, is fine because he's keeping the ball out of the net). However as goalkeeper and I'll reiterate this again... it has nothing to do with confidence and everything to do with how well protected he's been in recent seasons. He really isn't very good. McCarthy is the most reliable we've got in terms of ability.
  2. Maybe after we get humped at Chelsea for their title winning party in April they'll tear up his contract and give him to us.
  3. Totally mismanaged
  4. If only. Wouldn't say no
  5. Vvd Bertrand Rodriguez Long They'll be off
  6. Christ, god knows why he'd want to join this sh1tstorm
  7. I counted up 36. Not sure if that's enough.
  8. Steep learning curve for Jack... lost Carroll and looked off the pace yesterday. We'll know a bit more about him by the end of he season and whether he can hack it or not. He's very much learning on the job.
  9. People who keep quoting shots and crosses as 'chances' really, really don't understand football.
  10. Yup, but you can bet your bottom dollar if he did return, Sir Leslie would be one of the first booted out the door
  11. Yeah, I think you beat me to the punch about Silva and you've seen his teams first-hand; I only got intrigued a couple of seasons back when he joined Sporting then latterly Olympiakos but I've always been impressed with how his teams have played. Problem now is that's he gone mainstream by joining Hull so I'm worried he'll have plenty of suitors come the summer... which makes it a bit more difficult to get him here. That said, I believe he was interviewed in the summer, as was Garcia, Pellegrini, Giggs among others. And we ended up with Claude Puel. FFS

    Recent form

Our run-in is harder than Swansea's, Leicester and Hull's. Worrying
  14. He is, I agree but Forster came with those frailties to begin with - you just didn't see them as he was so well protected.
  15. Reed would probably appoint Eric Black interim manager and dawdle before landing Roy Hodgson whilst explaining "everything is under control" and we are currently interviewing some "top-class candidates thoroughly and professionally to see if they fit our long-term strategy".
  16. Are you pretending to be an outsider of the club now, not an insider? Lolz
  17. Potentially the most exciting season in years and it's come to this. Lolz.
  18. and the fact a 'shot' doesn't mean a 'chance' or that we're playing good football.
  19. Funny how opinion of him is changed now a lot of people have seen him without the magnificent protection he was afforded in recent seasons from our defence and midfield. It's not a confidence issue, he's just genuinely very limited and cannot do a lot of the basics lower league keepers can do.
  20. It's simply terrible. Forster again being exposed for the poor keeper he is. Centre backs done relatively ok but need better protection from the midfield; that's not Romeu's fault (and no, he's not an upgrade on Wanyama) but having two midgets alongside him doesn't help, especially as one midget can only offer rather average set-pieces, that's it. Up front was listless. Sure, there's flair there but if this turgid, insipid, boring, slow football doesn't suit at all and is easy to defend against. Not only were we overpowered and out-thought, but that was pretty much how we've played for two-thirds of the season to date. Those performances, this form and the current football director's (Wilson, Reed) decision-making not to (a) sign a decent Wanyama replacement in the summer (b) Neither do that or sign a replacement centre-back in this window has been absolutely p1ss-poor. The ponderous, pathetically slow football is down to Puel and co - and is not going to miraculously change. We are almost reliant on individual skill to wow us and see us through games. On the other hand, look at Marco Silva's resurgent Hull. He's bedded in 7 new players (5 started today if I can count Ranocchia coming on in the 1st minute) and they look organised and purposeful. We look a complete mess, still. Oh, and can I just remind you lot; smashing the ball into row Z from forty yards out or crossing the ball into the box with no-one on your team to attack the ball does not count as a 'chance'. A chance is made through incisive, attacking play which results in a team scoring/almost scoring. We are not playing with the same style and verve as yesteryear.
  21. This. I'm certainly not happy about it.
  22. I thought that was every summer?
  23. Amazing how Marco Silva has managed to introduce 6 new players to Hull's current lineup and get them to gel, despite how depleted they have been and still are... Hull actually look organised and decent, as opposed to this continuous f()cking mess.
  24. I don't think so. We were mostly insipid, but I'm sure someone can come up with some crossing stats, or shots stats, that'll somehow validate that argument. No point crossing into a box with only one of your own teammates in it. Likewise shooting and hitting row z isn't a chance. We're sideways passing, boring, disorganised, unfit and quite frankly, embarrassing.
  25. "All we need is a striker, mate" Yes, and we'll create loads more chances, won't we. Nothing to do with the huge gaps in midfield and defence that have been present all-season. Oh, and the third rate goalkeeper diving in slow motion.
