3? That high? I thought it was one of the most inept performances I have seen of any player in an England shirt. Absolutely awful. I honestly couldn't understand why Woy left him on the pitch.
-
I would agree with all of that, especially the behind the goal bit. I would also add that someone who has had 6 pre-match pints (or so) and/or someone who is concentrating more on what is being sung (or where the Mars Bar is) is not really going to be the best judge of how each and every player is performing during a match.

Well, Dermot Gallagher disagrees with you (as do many others). Falcao knew there wasn't enough room to go around Stek so started diving before any contact was made. His was not a penalty. Whereas, both of the ones we should have had were.
-
According to Dermot Gallagher on SSN both VvD's assault and Mane's foul were penalties (although he did say that he probably wouldn't have given Mane's in real time due his exaggerated fall making it look more like a dive); whereas, he said the ref got Falcao's dive spot on! Which all just makes Jose's rant seem even more stupid than it already did at the time he made it.

My guess at tomorrow's line-up (not what I would play): -----------------Stek---------------- Cedric-----Fonte----Cauker--Martina --------Wanyama-------Romeu-------- ----------------Davis------------------ JWP-----------------------------JRod ---------------Long-------------------
-
A suspect defence that has conceded how many goals in our last three prem matches?
-
That would mean we only have Stek and Kelvin. An injury to Stek would then mean having to put a 17 year old on the bench, and Kelvin in goal! Personally, I thin Gazza should be our permanent number 2, he looked pretty good in pre-season imo. I certainly feel more confident with him between the sticks than Kelvin (as much as I admire all the latter has done for us in he past).
-
Hmmm, that didn't cut and paste too well. Let's do it the long way then: Rival noun - a person or thing competing with another for the same objective or for superiority in the same field of activity. - a football who competes against another in the same division/competition verb - be or seem to be equal or comparable to - well, even Batman has been comparing Saints with Spurs and Liverpool, so I guess that would make us rivals then?
-
Exactly this. rival ˈrʌɪv(ə)l/ noun [*]1. a person or thing competing with another for the same objective or for superiority in the same field of activity. [*]

I am also in the leave a man up front camp. It really bugs me to see a ball, cleared from a corner, coming straight back into our box simply because we didn't have 'an out' further up the pitch. Also, I fondly remember the amount of goals and chances scored/created by Danny and Rod Wallace; simply because they remained on the halfway line whenever the opposition had a corner.

Maybe we should sack Koeman and bring Adkins back?

CORK WANTED TO LEAVE. HE TURNED DOWN A NEW CONTRACT. WHY CAN'T PEOPLE COMPREHEND THIS??

Highly unlikely. I am in the UK but the wife is back home.... Great effort from Dinamo. The dream is still alive! From a purely selfish point of view, it would be fantastic if we get them - but only if we play the home leg first. I am over here at the moment and fly back there on the 25th. Although, to be honest, I would rather we had them in the group stages.

Given that Stekelenburg, Cedric and S Davis had zero game time yesterday I would imagine they will all play. Add to that those first teamers who only had 45 minutes and I think we have our team for Thursday: Stek Cedric Fonte Yoshida Targett Vic Davis Tadic Mane Pelle Long As others have said, I really can't see anyone who played the full 90 (or even 70) minutes starting Thursday. i.e. JRod, JWP, Martina, Caulker, Juanmi
-
I don't think it was a matter of 'starting ahead of' more like one got a half each; as with Fonte/Maya, Pelle/Mane, Long/Tadic, etc. Indeed, I would say the fact KD was in goal while Fonte was on the pitch (as opposed to Maya) is indicative that Gazza is thought more highly of. I would certainly have Gazza ahead of KD now, as I think he has improved a lot recently. I didn't see the point in them being moved either and felt quite gutted for them when they missed the goal. They did seem to take everything in good spirit though. I actually thought he was Italian. A lot of his chants were aimed at Pelle. About halfway through the second half someone must have informed him that Pelle had gone off, then he aimed a couple of chants at JRod. To be honest, I thought he was quite amusing. As for the match...... Obviously JRod's goal was the highlight in a sunny Sunday afternoon stroll in the park. It was always going to be that kind of match in between the two Vitesse ones. Martina and Caulker both looked solid enough, without setting the world alight. To me, Juanmi looked a bit lost when having to come deep, but very dangerous in and around the opposition box. And I thought JWP had one of his better games. Espanyol were certainly a dirty team and would have had at least two red cards had that been a competitive match. That said, it was good to see no seeming ill effects to JRod having been clattered a few times. Jay isn't yet as fast as he was, but seems to have bulked up a bit too. He certainly looked more effective in Pelle's role than Mane did.

Thank you. I didn't imagine it then. Ronald's actual words were, 'We need to add more players to the attacking midfield'.
-
Not saying we are in for him per se, but Ronald has stated that he feels we 'are short' in the number 10 position. From that alone I think we will sign one more attack minded CM. I think (and hope) he is our number one choice to replace Morgan. Personally, I would love it of we signed Krychowiak, Clasie and Wijnaldum; but this highly unlikely unless someone comes in for Gaston. Oh, and of course we really do need to sign a first 11 CB. Maybe Virgil Van Dijk for our annual 10m purchase from Celtic?
-
I think we will sign 3 more players, 1 x CB and 2 x CMs
-
I was rather dreading seeing this after hearing the quite accurate rumours, but I actually quite like it. My daughter loves it. It will be interesting to see exactly how the real thing looks in the shop.
-
It's a good idea IMO. There are many for a whom a season ticket isn't a viable option, for numerous reasons. This gives them an opportunity to receive priority (at a cost) for high demand matches that they would be able to attend.
-
Hopefully Osvaldo and Ramirez. Oh, and a certain Argie ex-manager - that would be funny.
