And we all know to get a rounded and realistic view of a country is to go on a 2 week holiday there, staying in nice hotels, going on a few organised trips to tourists destinations in nice coaches or jeeps and speak to a handful of locals then waxing lyrical about what lovely, friendly people they are.
Is that way of the mongboard I'm afraid. Challenge their opinions and views and present them with a few challenging questions and they resort to calling people thick and trying to patronise. If you don't toe the party line and have the same view as them you're thick/troll/racist etc.
The most interesting thing is Mandela went to great lengths to apologies for his behaviour and actions, he recognised he was flawed and had made huge mistakes, yet it seems I anyone mentions it or dares to question the media view that he was a lovable, cuddly old man who did nothing but bring peace to a nation ripped apart then woe betide you.
Nice try, I think you'll find I have and there weren't any, but as I've already said, that doesn't excuse the killing and to truth of innocent people, something a lot of you seem to be ignoring for some reason.
I agree totally. However based on what you've just said, if a terrorist protesting against this was to kill innocent people, that would be fine wouldn't it?
So if an innocent person in London was killed by Islamic extremist carrying violent acts out due to the British army being in afghan , this would be fine because they are part of the system that was benefiting from their army being in afghan, yes?
Surprised no one has mentioned the Mandela United football club yet, what with this being a football forum and all. What was their tactic? Oh that's it. I believe it was called necklacing.
In years to come people will talk about this day, they will say I'll never forget the day Mandela died. The first thing I did was log onto twitter and see 28 other people and posted RIP so immediately I retweeted all of then before adding my own hurt to the snowball of grief. Then it was onto Facebook, where I immediately updated my status with a 'RIP - a great man' and changed my profile picture to the one of him shaking hands with Gerry Adams, proof that he wasn't racist. 13 likes and 12 comments later and unable to cope with my grief I flicked onto I'm a celebrity get me out of here to take my my mind off it all. I was so shocked that Rebbecca Adlington got voted off I simply had to update my Facebook status about it.
