I think it's because a lot of idiots dont understand football and if a player isn't charging around for 90 minutes, thumping his chest and bleeding through a headband they think they are lazy and not committed. Lambert & Guly two of our three most creative and affective players have been accused of being lazy and useless in the past. I wouldn't say the Barcelona or Spanish national team at the moment have anyone who is particularly quick in them. Still what do we know, "110% effort!! Dont mess about with it get it forward!!! Run Lambert you lazy fat c*nt!" etc etc.

And that is it. We are a team, not a collection of individuals. We've got a style of play that each player knows their job and work hard for each other. You only have to look at the way the goals were celebrated yesterday, everyone except Davis celebrated them together. Any manager can pick and buy 11 players, but not that many managers can get them playing as a team with such great togetherness and spirit.

Correct, he has not failed to make an impact. In fact i would describe him as an impact player who looks dangerous coming off the bench.

Why are people so obsessed with having "pacy" players? We are leading scorers by a distance without having one. Its far more imporant to find a player who has a good enough football brain and touch to fit into our style of play rather than a headless chicken who can charge round the pitch for 90 minutes.

Good post saint bletch but IMO they are unhelpful. I've mentioned the very powerful Sky advert a couple of times now, what do you see a skin colour, a nationality or a footballer? This totally contradicts this and the anti racism ethos that says everyone is the same regardless of skin colour. Its saying "look at him, he's black, look what he's achieved" this is wrong. What's wrong with "he's a footballer, look what he's achieved" skin colour matters when it suits and shouldnt matter when it doesn't it seems.

I have no idea I didn't support them. I just saw a 10 minute slot on football focus a couple of weeks or so about it and how fantastic it is and we should all celebrate the the contribution black players are making to the game. Yet this week many of the same people making these grand declarations are saying how disgraceful it is to judge someone on their colour and everyone is equal.

I find it incredible that anyone can support these awards, given the fact we are told not to base anything on the colour of people's skin. Yet not one of our racial guardians is prepared to condemn these awards and speak out against them. It's strange to say the least. BTF and Verbal have both piped up on this thread but neither appear to be able to form An opinion on the isue in question, which is odd for two posters who usually are quick to Condemn when it suits.

Seriously? I can't think of at least 10 that don't have the hype these boring clowns do. I think that says it all about modern music though. Safe, bland and dull. Give me the inventiveness of the stone roses the dark humour of the smiths or the pure f*ck offness of the pistols or te clash anyday over that nonsense.
