if anyone uses that as an excuse they are a moron. England didn't lose because of that, they lost because they were **** in 3 games, average in one, defended like 5 year old, cluesless going forward and a team full of arrogant, overrated players. How can a professional footballer at any level not be able to pass 15 yards when unchallenged?

hmmmmm maybe this was not so ridiculous afterall......

playing a player out of position is the most logical answer? The most logical answer would be that AP thinks Dickson is as good as or even a better player than Harding and wants two good players for every postion. Hence why he is rumoured to be after two right backs, why we have two good goalkeepers, 4 decent centre halves, why he wants a new striker to along with RL, LB & DC and new midfield players, 24 good players in a squad, not 11 good ones and 11 HCDAJFU's which would make us a lot weaker due to injuries, suspensions, tiredness. 46 games + 3 cups is a long old season.

You asked for his qualifications, implying that unless someone had studied football coaching and had qualifications then they know nothing. I'm sure Lawrie Mcmenemy and Brian Clough (RIP) never had any formal football qualifications but if you hold a entry level refeering badge then in your world you'd be more knowledgable than them. YOu have your own house?! Why do that when you can be on the dole and get a council one for nowt like me. Its ironic you'd spend yesterday installing a kitchen, i had the council stick a new one in for me over the last week, for nothing of course which you paid for and you also paid for the guy who fit it, didn't lift a finger myself as usual. In a round about sort of way you worked on my house yesterday too, thanks. What with me being a 16 year old school leaving, bitter, benefit, tax fiddling scum bag an' al'.

this one is funny.

we wont make another signing, ever.

Hilarious twist on our user names, how long did it take you to think that up? I think you need to read my posts againpal, never once have i defended their actions. What i have said time and time again is that a year upwards in jail for shaking a fence is over the top. Anyway, i'm getting bored with this thread now as most seem to think that if you dont sit on the lock them up and throw away the key side you fully support their behaviour and are incapable of grasping that i dont but compared to other sentances given out, as posted on this forum, theirs were grossly excessive.

I particularly liked the black, slightly camp Birmingham guy in the yellow jacket that was far to big for him that said 'comeradere' about 50 times. The highlight being when he was saying 'hold, hold, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH'!!!! Danny Dyer is such a **** in them too, some of these are quite funny though, loads of them on youtube

is like the second world war, the French surrdendered early, the Italians surrdendered as soon as they could the USA came in at the last minute and we are left to fight the Germans.

Yet more arrogance from our resident Rumple of Bailey. In between filling in benefit forms i actually stumbled on this post where i see you appear to be claiming that unless someone has a masters in football coaching and tactics (although obviously with your knowledge of law there is an overlap) they shouldn't comment on if a left back should be a long term solution as a right back. What you arrogantly said on the other thread was that as you stuided law you have a better idea about it than me and that i clearly knew sweet FA about the law, yet i am still to see any demostration of this superior knowledge anywhere. ie your point about shouting 'i am going to kill Pompey fans' being considered assault which carries a max term of 6 months when they were charged with violent disorder, which carries up to 5 years. Anway, what are you up to today? Watching video reruns of Tom Cruise in the Firm?

O - offside, what the linesman decision was yesterday on italys 'goal' which would have made the score 2-2 and put the Ities through. agreed, its camoflage, Davis can leap out of his goal and stop the shot like a cheetah killing a zebra in the serengeti.....

as cover, reminds me a bit of that fat ****er Parkin at Preston, slow, fat, but effective.

Why are you obsessed with qualifications? Typcial graduate snobbery.(assuming you are a graduate as i noticed you only say you studied law, never actaully said you graduated in it in amongst all you other self promotion) There are people in my company (who i obviously dont declare i work for but according to you just fiddle the state for benefits whist working for them as a cleaner) that have 1st but know jack **** about what they do and how our industry works and they wont until they have a bit of experience. Likewise people that have played the game at a decent level or watched football for years might be able to write their football qualifications on a postage stamp with an invisible pencil but doesn't mean they dont know anything about football. As it happens our friend Hopkins is spot on in his assessment, IMO of course. I doubt either of us studied football at university for years. But for you though my friend, isn't there some book you can quickly read to get you to speed, I remember Kevin Keegans soccer skills book being popular when i was a kid. Or maybe just a large dose of common sense may help you realise Pires, or any world cup winning player for that matter, would ever seriously consider joining a league one club, or us actually us look at them a 35(?) year old, when we are looking for players who can go the whole journey back to the PL with us.
-
I'm sure a bid of £50m would tempt them, how about letting them have him back on loan until we get promoted to the CCC? Or £100m for him, Xavi, Toure and Iniesta, chuck another £30m at Real Madrid for Sergio Ramos and £60m for Kaka, think Pardew is the man to get him performing again, plus with him being a bible basher and us being Saints with a church background and a christian for an owner then he might be able to convince him its not all about winning champions leagues, spanish titles and world cups....
-
You are absolutely 1000000% spot on in every point. As saints fans we have got too used to the HCDAJFU players. Barcelona have just signed Villa and want Fabregas, i bet their fans aren't saying well, 'what will happen to Ibrahimovic and Iniesta?' In any case how many time have we been f***** over by players who jump ship at the first sign of a better offer? Why should clubs behave any differently?
-
Well i like Harding, thought he was one of our better players last season. So it is an interesting one, maybe Dickson will play left midfield in a 4-5-1 and when we play 4-4-2 they will fight over left back. We used both systems a fair bit last season.
-
stating the bleeding obvious, but what a player and what a goal that was. Go get him Nicola!!!
-
Probably due to a lot of people saying they wont go to prision if all they did was shake a fence, with is all they did and they did.......
-
but they weren't charged with incitement, they were charged with violent disorder. Nowhere in the charges or press releases are the words incitement mentioned.
-
you have to say hats of to Cortese, he wont get everything right, but he wants the best and wont settle for anything less, anyone with that attitude has to be admired.

God i nearly fell off my chair when i read that comment. This is the same echo that printed thier faces on the front page, that descirbed it as a 'war zone' and massivly exagerated what happened in the weeks after, that carried the incident as their lead story SEVEN times, that brag that some of them handed themselves in after seeing themselves in the echo and that were salivating at story from the moment it happened right through to the convictions and sentance and that basically lapped it up from day one and couldn't print enough words about it are now watering down the story!!! Not that legally that cant lie anymore and say people did things they didn't then?
-
here it is in black and white, from the echo website. Shaking a fence, shouting aggresively, throwing a coin, confirms what i saw on the day, not a lot and not enough to warrrant prison. Obviously makes me f****** moronic. Builder and former Royal Navy marine engineer Christopher Stevens, 46, of Stagbrake Close, Southampton, was jailed for 12 months. He was seen to shake the barrier fence and throw two missiles after drinking eight pints of lager. Defence barrister James Horder said he had attended more than 500 Southampton matches and was “deeply ashamed” at his behaviour after getting “caught up” in events. The judge said: “You are a family man and devoted Southampton fan and this drunken violence was plainly out of character.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ Scaffolder and father of one James Smith, 34, of Brentwood Crescent, Southampton, was jailed for 12 months. Richard Tutt, defending, said the Saints ticket holder was “ashamed and remorseful.” He admitted throwing one stone towards Portsmouth fans. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ Michael Byles, 24, of Aldermoor Road, Southampton, handed himself after seeing his picture in the Daily Echo. He had been filmed grabbing the fence and shouting aggressively. Said to have previous convictions for public order offences in 2006, 2007 and 2009, he admitted he was drunk and ashamed. He was jailed for 16 months. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ Marcus Bevan, a 23-year-old plumber, of Warburton Road, Southampton, hurled five or six missiles and tried to climb over a fence at get out at Portsmouth fans. As a football coach and player for Brockenhurst, the judge said his actions were “particularly disgraceful”. Admitting he was now ashamed, he was locked up for 16 months. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ Cameron Jordan, 23, of Middle Road, Sholing, Southampton, was filmed pulling on the fence and launching a substantial piece of plastic at Portsmouth fans. At the time he was on bail for a similar offence when he drove a group of Thornhill youths to an armed fight with a gang from Townhill in which he was stabbed in the buttock. He was jailed for a total of 34 months. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ His father, Stephen Jordan, 49, of the same address, who pushed and pulled at the fencing, told police it seemed the good opportunity for “a toe to toe” fight. It was feared his business, which employed 14 people, would go under with a prison sentence. The judge said he was “sceptical” that Jordan was remorseful and jailed him for 12 months. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ Xavier White, 22, of Wilton Road, Southampton, had his hopes of an Army career with the Parachute Regiment shattered after he was seen to throw missiles. He was sentenced to 12 months -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ Carpenter Matthew Hinton, 19, of Hillside Avenue, Southampton, handed himself in to the police after seeing his picture in the Daily Echo. He admitted he had drunk too much and described his behaviour as “ridiculous.” He was jailed for 12 months. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ James Koral, 20, of Haddon Drive, Eastleigh, who had a previous conviction for battery, threw four objects at Portsmouth fans after getting caught up with things in “the heat of the moment”. He also handed himself in after seeing his picture in the Daily Echo and his participation had cost him his job as a British Gas call centre advisor. He also got 12 months. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ Lewis Buckley, 24, of The Millburns, Romsey, admitted throwing two coins in anger after being struck on the leg by an object thrown by a rival fan. He also surrendered himself to the police and claimed he had “no desire” to watch another football match again. He received 12 months. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ Recently married Kevin Medway, 28, of Grenville Court, Townhill Park, had knocked back ten pints before he was seen throwing something, pushing at a fence and being aggressive. He also received 12 months. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ■ Allan Taylor, 30, of Wilton Road, Southampton, who was said to have a personality disorder, specifically went to the match knowing there would be trouble and hoped he would get hurt. Taylor, who had previous convictions for violent disorder and assault, had a 15-month sentence imposed.
