Some one said he is an example of excellence, read above, i didn't say he wasn't good, just he is not an example of excellence, as he hasn't won anything major. Feder and Nadal are excellent, top players and winners, that is the difference. Each generation produces its greats though, would Murray have been in the same league as Samprass, Borg, Becker, Agassi, Mcenroe, Lendel, Effenberg etc? I dont think so.
  3. He'd have been dumped by the time of the recording.

Regardless of it being dubbed the 'fifth grand slam' it isn't one. Should he fail to win one of those when they look back on his career 0 - will be in the grand slams won column, which is the benchmark of tennis excellence, until then he cant be talked about in the same breathe as the others. That is the problem with british sport in general, we consider being a nearly man as being a legend and willing to admire unlucky losers and try hards . To me for someone to be considered truely excellent they have to be at the top of their game for a relavatively decent lenght of time, Joe Calzaghie is an example of a true british sporting great. A world champion for 10 years who beat everyone put in front of him.

As my post above Warwick, anything that matters, not the tennis equvilent of the charity shield, the Oxfordshire benevolent Cup or the ted Bates trophy, i suggest you realise the difference between a proper tournement and a meanless trophy before passing judgement. Won something that matters? You are having a laugh.

    Lallana

Thats catchy Maybe just the MORGAN Schneiderlien bit would be better and simpler, dont forget it needs to be sung at 100000 MPH with clapping in time.
  7. No but warn her, something like 'you ever talk to me in that muggy c*** speak again, i'll open you up like a tin of beans, you hear me, s*it c*nt"
  8. There is also a company with a few vans around Southampton called "BJ Champion" They are a building company i believe.
  9. The odd free curry?
  10. Puncheon was in league one team of the year, Antonio wasn't. ANd so it seems that much against CEC's view, everyone so far would pick Puncheon over Antonio? Just like our new right back, but according to CEC he isn't a better bet in that postion than an average centre half playing out of position and doing an okay job there, neither is our other new right back, who has played that position in the leagues above for the last 8 seasons.
  11. and cornish pasties remind me of dinosaurs
  12. Did the whale steal a camera, a leather jacket and a pair of raybans?
  13. Southampton Slayers? Southampton Strikers? i Quite like that. got to move with the times, your journey is not what is behind you, but the road in front of you. The future is Southampton Strikers.
  14. None. Everyone will snap their cruciates in the first game or training and our lack of cover will be exposed.
  15. Just like Bale, Walcott, Surman? They have to break into the team sooner or later, i dont know much about Mcniesh and only seen him against Southend last game but AP seems to like him, but no one knew much about Bale when he broke into th side. I'd have thought on the bench behind Hammond and Schneiderlin was the ideal way to break into the first team?
  16. had a couple of wholemill rolls for lunch and when you cut into them they alwasy remind me of Zippy from rainbow. Obviously glue always reminds me of spunk. Any others?
  17. Some will still complain, if we signed Kaka people would complain it wasn't Messi, that he should have been signed earlier in the summer to give him a full pre season and we dont have adequate cover for him if he gets injured as Hammond is clearly not as good.
  18. Its not just goals, our whole game plan revolves around Lambert, we were ****e at Gillingham without him because Barnard and Connolly are different type of strikers to RL. AP wants back up so we can play that way if RL is injured or suspended.
  19. League goals Lambert 31 Barnard 24 Lallana 15 Plus hopefuly a fit Connolly this season. Most clubs wish they were that short of fire power.
  20. I think that expression is a load of bollo*ks anyway, i remember when Strachan was manager people were saying we needed a 'creative guy' we had at that time Anders Svenson, Matt Oakley, Fernandes and pahars when fit who could all be considered that. A lot is to do with the way the team is set up to play, Strachans teams here were set up to be water tight defensively, (best defensive record in the league outside of the top 4 2003 season i believe). what we needed ws a goal scoring midfielder, which is why i cant believe we never moved for Tim Cahill, £2m at the time an absolute steal. This team has Puncheon, lallana & Schniderlin who could be considered creative players. 3 good strikers and a goal scoring midfielder in lallana, all we need is to complete the squad is players as cover or to put pressure on those in possession of the shirt, on CM, one RM and one cover for Lambert. The first XI is the best in the league.
  21. But Antonio and Papa were on loan, its not a case of failing to keep them. If Lambert, lallana, Fonte, Schneiderlin had left, then we would have failed to have kept them. All our main players are still here, we have added quality in our weakest position and can still put out the team that beat Huddersfield 5-0plus a better right back. Why are you and CEC the only ones that are underwhelmed?
  22. For me i did a bit of labouring on a building site for a while when i needed some cash and was out of work for a bit, £6 an hour to break up wooden pallets, carry bits of plasterboard around in the ****ty cold weather, a cleaning up after the trades, working like a dog and being reminded the Poles do it for half the money every 5 minutes getting up at 5.45 every day for a 7.30 start etc. So **** that i got offered a job hod carrying and saw that as a promotion. To be fair i didn't mind hod carrying, not a great job but had a bit of a laugh, site agent was a c*nt though, one day was about 30 degrees and had bumping out blocks for a hour and a half, stopped for a drink, sweating pooring off me, and he shouts up the scaffold 'what a you doing stood around for? Get on with some f*cking work' cheeky c*nt. Glad to be back in sales
  23. This, spot on.
