  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8693088.stm When we were in admin we couldn't offer any new contracts to anyone. Its becoming a farce.
  2. Funny you should say that, i read a story about a Man City fan a few years ago that was addicted to football, not joking, he was even banned at one point but kept on going despite this even though he got ejected every week from the game. His defence was that he was addicted to it, like a drug, I guess if people can make out to their wives they are addicted to sex when they cant stop ****ging fit birds then why cant you claim to be addicted to football?
  3. I think it sounds okay, i remember when they played at the Dell in about 1988 they did it loudly for what seemed like about 20 minutes. Better than any song sung at 1 billion MPH with clapping to go with it.
  4. Southampton: Bialkowski, Ostlund, Baird, Pele, Bale (Skacel 56), Belmadi, Viafara, Guthrie, Surman, Jones (Best 55), Saganowski (Rasiak 87). Subs Not Used: Davis, Cranie. Booked: Pele, Surman. Davis was on the bench, he may have been injured, but i thought he was recalled for the second leg after being dropped for the first. anyone know? Remember Saganoski hitting the bar from about 5 yards out when easier to score in the first leg?
  5. It doesn't matter, if we dont go up its our own fault. We are the only team in the division with any real money, already have IMO the best squad which is going to be added to with better players. A challenge will come from Huddersfield, Sheff Wed, Millwall/Swindon, Plymouth and i'd expect MK Dons and Brighton to have better seasons, but if we dont go up we only have ourselves to blame.
  6. To be fair jone and Bale both got injured in the first leg and couldn't play. Pele got shown up by the might Steve Howard and cost us both goals so played in midfield and Davis should never have been dropped for Bart in the first place. But yes, Burley never did seem to know what his best team was.
  7. Wel it isn't it it, because they'd only know during the game that you weren't there and that seat is one they could have sold to someone else. So they lose that revenue then have to refund you at the end of the season for games you didn't go to. The money in the bank is not real money as they wont know until the end of the season how much they have, what if 5k people buy one and then all only go to one game? Then there is the cost of the cards, managing it, they'd need electronic turnstiles as you couldn't rely on the turnstile staff to keep a record of "half way house" season ticket holders coming and going. It'd be a nightmare for the club. Why not just buy a ticket for games you can go to and not buy on for games you cant?
  8. He doesn't care, beer and pies are more important than seeing the game.
  9. I went to the train station and asked for an annual season ticket to London this morning, i said i can only use it twice a month though so only wanted to pay the price of two trips a month. They told me to to ****** off.
  10. Shut up you ****.
  11. Which negates the whole point of having one? At least you can stuff your face with your pie if, presumably, you hadn't thrown that all over the concourse as well. And the reason is there is a TV downstairs you can watch the game on? Why bother going at all, just sit at home and watch Jeff Snelling and throw your beer and food all over your own living room.
  12. Shut up you ****.
  13. similar sort of player i guess but he is not really a leader on the field in the mould of Keane or Souness. He's not even captain of Chelsea.
  14. Well tell her if she doens't like it there are plenty more women out there who wont find it a buggar to clean...
  15. CM "generals" are a thing of the past IMO. WHo is there that you would class as this these days? In the past i would put Souness, Viera (in his Arsenal days), Keane and our very own Jimmy Case in that catageory but look at the top clubs now, would you call Carrick, Hargreaves, Fabregas, Lampard, and Co midfield generals? THe nearest thing these days is probably Steve Gerrard and i dont think he'd be interested in a move to St Marys just now. Even he is a different sort of player to the likes of Souness though. The modern central midfield usually comprises of a decent ball playing holding player to build the play from the back and an attacking box to box goalscoring player in front of him.
  16. And i am starting to wonder if you are to beer and burgers what Augustus Gloop was to chocolate.
  17. It probably came out of the annual dividend paid to shareholders involved in the saints trust, they were trying to be part of a PLC so need to act like one.
  18. What is the purpose of the saints trust these days? Can anyone on here confirm? I though it was to have stake in a PLC and try to get a seat on the board, although i alwasy thought that the chances of that happening were as likely as solving third world hunger with a packet of findus crispy pancakes. Anyway, can anyone clarify the role of the saints trust, other than to comment on random echo articles every now and again.
  19. Shut up you ****
  20. Why haven't you started a look at me, publicity seeking thread, entitled "My email to the Echo re the saints trust new chairman" ?
  21. No idea, never heard of him. Generally not interested in what the media whores have to say.
  22. Personally the only improvements i would like to see are to the playing staff. I am sure NC has more pressing matters to deal with than reducing the queues for the gutty ****s who cant go 90 minutes without drinking or filling their face with burgers and pies. So having a half time pint is so important to you that your would miss 1/9th of the game, plus injury time, just to have a beer. How many goals have you missed this season going downstairs with 35 mins on the clock?
  23. According to the echo Jason Mcfeat is now vice chairman.
  24. I couldn't give a toss if his name is Jason, James or Jesus. How can there be a vice president for a organisation that does not exist?
  25. Glad to see you have redeemed yourself, albeit a bit late with your latest thread. :smt024
