Was Lowe a lot closer to being right than we give him credit for?
derry replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Whilst we played predominately the young players and that side of the experiment continued, we stopped the total football experiment probably after the Blackpool game, certainly after the QPR game. We were from then just an inexperienced side playing British reserve team football with no width and one up front against CCC first teams. The total football was good but we never gave it a real chance, a few defeats and it was dumped. -
Not a fan, just a cowardly yob in a pub, takes advantage of a drunk. He'll probably get a few years in jail for his stupidity.

Wotte said the only injury was Lallana's ankle, McGoldrick change was tactical.

When we started with the diamond midfield it made us very narrow and vulnerable down the flanks. We seem, as each week goes by to be improving the formation and the way the players are using it. Yesterday was the best yet for me, especially so, that on a number of occasions we got to the byeline and crossed from there. Euell did it both sides, Surman and Skacel did it on the left. The penalty came from Euell's cross. This is almost the first time this season we have done it. Defensively, and I know Cardiff's main tactic was to launch the ball forward, we seemed to be more aware at the front and closed down the ball early. Lallana tried hard but seems unaware that he could drift outside the last defender, then attack the cross from the blindside. He is sucked into the near post leaving the far post uncovered.

The only thing I would criticise Simon Gillett for is sometimes playing 30yd passes without looking when he is pressurized. Once yesterday it got us into real trouble when he passed straight to an opponent.

If Lowe had been such a bloody genius he would have stayed in banking. What sort of idiot is it that walks out on the biggest shareout in history. -

Skacel, Euell, and Saganowski weren't, they were ignored along with John, Thomas, Raziak and Dyer. That was the big problem in the first place. -

Only JP Saeijs of the yesterday's team was not at the club at the start of the season. It was the Lowe experiment that stopped this team being picked from day one. It was sheer incompetence and arrogance on Lowe's part to tell Dave Jones (Cardiff manager), before the season started, that the youngsters would carry all before them playing fantastic football. Wotte has been expediant, picked the experienced quality, picked a simple compact system, and is developing the tactics as each week goes by. Lowe buggered it up, Wotte at the moment is digging him out of the hole he dug, I just hope it isn't too late. -
Socialism-one man one vote, we have a socialist dictatorship government, how does that work?

Just disband. The pontifications in it's name does it no credit. What is really needed is a body to represent the the 4000 shareholders who own 20% of the club. But if they can't be bothered what chance does a talking shop have. Bit like the fluoride consultation sham, ask, then do as they wanted anyway.
-
Tame talking shops are useless. Might as well use the ticket/members numbers and get the ERS to draw them, that would ensure totally random selection.

Probably end up looking like Yogie Bear, or Harry Redknapp.

The reaction of the club to the demonstrations has been positive. Doncaster- Portvliet resigns, Wotte appointed. Swansea/Preston Wotte & players aware of the fans anger and treading on eggshells. The 'experiment' abandoned, the senior players now playing, performances more dynamic, immediate results and performances improving. The demonstrations are not having a damaging effect and certainly have got the attention of the club. Keep up the pressure.

No Trust, No trust board member APPOINTED as a non executive board member, No politicians involved with the club. Not a penny put in. Crouch has stated a willingness to lend the club £2m, it depended on being matched by Lowe and Wilde, which probably won't happen. A place on the board for Crouch is sensible but probably won't happen. The only proposal on merit I support, is for Lowe to lose all executive power. I don't know Cowen but have heard many support his good points, however as he has always been a 100% Lowe supporter I wouldn't want him as an executive. The board needs sufficient unaligned non-executive directors and an independent chairman to make unbiased decisions. Lowe, Wilde and Crouch despite representing over 50% of the shares would not be able to make decisions. I am absolutely confident none of the above can happen unless we go into administration, or the shareholders turn on Lowe.

Why would a self appointed minority group of self interested fans warrant a member on the board. Season ticket holders are by far the biggest group of fans and as such unrepresented. It would make more sense for the season ticket holders to elect one of their number.
-
The Trust represents the members of the trust and the views of the officers only. The trust does not have the credibility or the trust to represent non-member supporters.
-
But we weren't 2nd from bottom and at least 4 points short of the safety margin and we have Notts Forest away last game of the season. We have a lot of ground to make up and everybody at the bottom are winning games.
-
As his natural game is not to play wide, you're right. He would have to have been told to stay wide otherwise he would have played as he did.
-
He's too lightweight at the moment, no end product and doesn't get in where it hurts, besides he hasn't scored since QPR, Mcgoldrick had a better game on Sat and is probably a more likely scorer. He may struggle to hold onto right midfield as Schneiderlin is available again.

Keep the same side, play the same system. I don't like the system, that said that is the system we are adopting and it got a good result. Gillett was very mobile, did a lot of covering and won a lot of ball v Preston and is needed to hold in midfield. One of the two non-holding midfielders especially the right side need to get wider quicker a) when we are breaking out, b) also when an attack breaks down as we leave the flanks open with this narrow system. c) reinforce the wide player quickly, wall pass to get to the byeline rather than launch speculative crosses from 30 yds out. McGoldrick worked really hard last week but needs to be more aware and reinforce the wings as well as the front two. That way with this system we might get at the back four. Liptak looked a more than useful player, very good in the air, I am looking for him to be used more.

FFS what are you all getting so uptight about? So Rupert Lowe ****es people off, loses his temper, a female feels intimidated, so what. It happens all the time. The real problem is his sheer, arrogant, know it all incompetence is going to get us relegated and maybe worse, wound up. -
Surman played slightly wide, Lallana not at all. The formation was a narrow midfield diamond and as a matter of fact Lallana was instructed not to play wide. The team played with practically no width at all. Yes the play did at times go wide but at that point there was no width as such as the defence had moved across. The width had in fact been created on the other unoccupied flank but was not used. Width is when both touchlines are occupied simultaneously and the defence is stretched or outflanked on the wide side. We never do this.
-
FFS, what are you lot on, he launches a load of crosses into the six yd box from 30yds out, what the centre backs didn't clear, the goalkeeper caught. We didn't create a thing from his crosses. He needs two things to make him effective, a couple of Saints players to come out to him, and to keep running playing one two's to get to the byeline and cross back across the box, then he would be a handfull.
