Somewhere along the line I think Puncheon has had a moment of realisation that his stop-start career is maybe down to him and for whatever reason he's decided to really knuckle down. Long may it continue, he's certainly gone up in my estimation. Even at the Norwich game where it didn't go as well for him he never stopped trying. I'm a convert.

GK: I'm not sure we can say we have 3 decent keepers DEF: We've got cover at RB and LB but we are exposed at CB other than Seaborne MID: We have plenty of options ATT: We have several options If we can only have one then I'd go with a CB as we are more than likely to suffer injuries and suspensions and this is the one area we have very little cover. In saying that I'd like us to get 3 players in.

You're probably right, I'm not familiar with him but his career would suggest he ought to be competent enough to wear the No1 jersey. I'm sure Merson's comments were a little tongue-in-cheek but the point was clear enough that they didn't have an outstanding goalkeeper, just 3 average Joe's.

And that's the dilemma. Was it Merson a couple of years ago, when talking about Arsenal's fraility between the sticks, 'why is it we have three third-choice keepers?'
