He wouldn't have played last season either if it wasn't for the parallel absence of VvD and Fonte. It was either him or Stuart Taylor at CB. He did OK. As mentioned, with the imminent departure of VvD, he would get games next year as he's ahead of Gardos and Bednarek. Choice is his of course.
-
The Club wouldn't have a say in it then? If that was the scenario it would only happen if SFC wanted it to and had plans in place to replace him.
-
There is no way the Club would sell him in January as we are thread bare up front as it is. That is / was never going to happen. He's not quick, he's not apparently particularly fit but he does what all good strikers do and gets the ball in the back of the net. Amen to that.

I’m sure a lot of folks will agree he is just like MLT in his prime. Almost identical. Like twins. I’m impressed with his rapid improvement. He went from pretty good in your post match comments to outstanding in just a couple of hours.

The only people who thought that was a penalty was the ref and that idiot Alan Smith despite the benefit of several replays. Prat.

Certainly a few missed passes although that was the same for many players and both teams, especially in the first half. We are reluctant to break forward in numbers (somewhat understandable against the likes of Arsenal and City) which makes it difficult when we do win the ball in the middle of the park to pick out a forward pass that won't just come straight back.
-
Yes, I think you probably are. Many people's MOTM including Franny on BT Sport. Broke up the Arsenal play all over the pitch and never stopped chasing and closing down as well as being positive in going forwards.
-
Sounds like Cuca has improved considerably in that case.

Too much Guinness.

The team got worse the more time Puel got to spend with them after all the excuses of too many games in the first half of the season. He knocked the stuffing out of Gabbiadini who was scoring for fun when he first came. PEH, who has been one of our best players since gettting a go under MP laughably couldn't get a sniff under Puel. He's gone. Let it go.

Hoj MOTM again. Amazing the way Puel treated him. Redmond a complete waste of space yet again. A better game from Tadic but should have come off earlier as he was giving the ball away endlessly towards the end which brought more pressure on to us. Good all round performances otherwise.

All the problems WHU have are caused by anyone but Sullivan. According to Sullivan.

Who is the irritating Scottish tater?
-
They will only have seen the highlights bearing in mind they were providing 'expert' opinion on all 10 games last night. MCFC are interesting. SFC are not. It's the way of the Premier League.
-
We could trouble our own midfielders when Long shoots? Sounds about right.
-
Don't think you could have watched it in that case. It's an honest and open interview with little sign of media schooling.
-
Anyone who saw his bit part appearances at the start of last season could see what he was about. Unfortunately it seemed the longer he was exposed to Puel’s tutelage the worse he became. I think I’d trust the eye of Bayern and Pep.
-
You got it.
-
Glad to see Hoj run the show. Seems to have rehabilitated from his Puel experience. Pamplemouse probably still thinks he's not up to it Miles better all round, more pressure, more intensity. Hoj, Austin and Redmond the keys for me but better everywhere on the pitch.

Lemina possible for Sunday it seems.

We should be able to change their fortunes.

Another great blog. I think there will be a lot of folks nodding in agreement as they read that.

It was cringeworthy then. Even more so now. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2014-06-12/reed-new-boss-will-share-saints-vision
