I watched the Leicester game yesterday, and I didn't even notice that Chilwell went of at half time. Whoever came on for him had such little influence on the game that I had to look up the Guardian report afterwards to see who he was ( Bennett) . Don't think I heard the commentator mention him once in 45 minutes. Vardy was crap until he got that tap in, watch him go on a run now !
-
That does my head in too. He had loads of time to turn and set up an attack. I would give Romeu a go at Watford and give Smallbone a chance in some of the less physical games.

Nervous about this, you just don't know how sharp the team will be after the break, My favorite Spanish team, Real Sociadad , were looking odds on for the Champions League before the shut down, Now they have picked up one point out of 2 games against relegation strugglers.

Got me there, they are not in "The Customs Union" but they do have agreement on Standards/Workers rights and free movement of goods and people as part of the EAA, unlike the UK which won't join a scheme to but PPE, just because it has Europe in the title. The point is that Norway is a lot closer to the EU than Cummings wants to be and so is much more likely to reach agreements.
-
#is that the Norway that is the EEA and Customs Union ?
-
Also, a lot of the Langoustines and prawns caught of the Scottish islands is sold on the continent. This is already causing massive problems at the moment due to restaurant closures. Without tarrif free access to the EU they will close down.

The furlough scheme is obviously not designed for profitable companies like LFC and Spurs. Spurs for instance could take a mortgage holiday on their stadium debt. I think the FA/PL/EFL should advise ant clubs taking this furlough money, that they cannot sign new players until it is payed back or paid to a charity. The idea of the state paying 80% of Liverpool's non playing wages and them splashing 50 million on Timo Werner at the same time is clearly immoral .

I use it for free, but I think if you pay you don't get adverts, but I just access it via a browser, not an app.

No problem, wife uses it every day for French. She was in the top ten in the world for points until the lockdowns started, now everyone is on it !

Duolingo is a great way to learn a language, and it is free ! Just take a 5 minute lesson every day. I am learning Spanish at the moment, ready for when the border gets open again, hopefully this year .

The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m

Financially were are not that attractive at the moment, as we still have another season of paying, Lemina, Carrillo and Hoedt, as well as Hughes and his posse ( Thanks Les Reed) . Forster and Elyonousi have done enough to attract buyers hopefully, so that will reduce the wage bill a bit, but our wage percentage is still too high. -
The sending off was wrong, there was no intent from Djenepo, he was looking away as he ran. The officials just took account of where his foot landed. Hpwever , the same officials thinkg that sliding in late and kicking someone in the chest a just a yellow! I am all for VAR, but it is applied so inconsistently that is not helping.

As I posted earlier, picking that team allows you to switch to a back 3 , using KWP and Djenepo as wing backs, without using a sub. Ralph did this in a recent home gem, Spurs maybe.
-
Shelvey seems to do well against us, some I think that we should move JWP back into midfield to "****house" him. At the back, it is probably best not to start with a 3 with Vestigaard, as he will struggle if Newcastle don't go long to Joelton, but break with pace instead in the wide areas If Djenepo is OK, I would play a normal back 4 with Vallery or KWP at right back, and then switch to a back 3 if required by moving Bertrand over and using Djenepo as a wing back. like the end of the Spurs home cup game. Not sure who should partner Ings up front, as Long was hiding behind defenders last week and you can't press a team that are happy to give you possession, or get behind a team that play a solid block of 8/9 on the edge of their box.

Bit of a flat performance, like last year. Farting about trying to play out for their first. McCarthy should of punched Haller for the 2nd. Les Read should have signed Antonio from Reading for the 3rd. Nice goal from us, and a few other situations that were overworked. Smallbone did well until a bad square ball, when he had forward options lead to their 2nd. If Djenepo had been available, we might have been able to switch a back 3 with Bertrand when it became clear that Antonio was playing of Haller.

Post-match reaction: Saints 2-0 Aston Villa
redkeith replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Back on subject, it was another good team performance yesterday. Smallbone looked composed, but faded in the 2nd half and the 2 no 10's, Djenepo and Armstrong, were excellent. Great composure by Armstrong to stoke home that shot after a 70 yard run in the 94th minute. MOM for me was JWP, who did a great job on the dangerman, for the 2nd time this month. -
Whoops, JWP for Romeu, or Djenepo
-
Given that Grealish plays wide left, I think I would go. Mc Carthy Stehphens Bednareck Vestegard Bertrand Romeu PEH Armstrong Djenepo Ings Long I still rate Valery, but he is better going forward than marking , so nullify their main threat
-
Hansen looks decent, maybe he can step up to the bench while Redmond is out ?
-
Fork, fork fork. Looks like Smallbone or Obafemi might have to learn to play wide. Just had a look at the Guardian minute by minute report and they said the ref was so bad " The referee’s decisions are becoming positively psychedelic" .
-
Patchy performance, we were good for most of he first half , but the injury to Boufal hurt us. What the fork was McCarthy doing behind his line for the first goal ? I know the ball shouldn't have reached him, but what use is a keeper inside his own net ? The winner was a good hit, but we had them pinned in a minute before until Long decided to foul his marker ! Forkwit ! Lets hope Redders is fit for next week .
