  1. Great performance. Pleased for the back 5 to keep a clean sheet, especially Gazzaniga, who must have got some confidence for Xmas.
  2. If a top class CB is available, like Astori, it would move Fonte to 3rd choice centre back which is good depth for anyone but Man City or Chelsea. It would also give us the option of moving Lovren to Left Back in an emergency, and maybe even to play 3 at the back when teams try playing 2 up front, like Chelsea and Spurs have recently. Also would like another keeper, but I don't know who, as Caesar and Given are on Mental wages.
  3. Yes we defended terribly, and too many players had bad games, Jay-rod and Davis in particular, but if Jay-Rod buried that chance to make it 2 0 it might all have been different. Their 2nd and 3rd goals came from ricochets, though to be fair, they tore us apart after the 3rd. Also, why did Lovren not close Soldado down quicker for their first ? The squad looks paper thin at the moment. We really do need a back-up centre half, and left back and GK.
  4. Lowe did want a team full of Southampton Academy products. Unfortunately, that team was Arsenal.
  5. MoM would have been Chambers for me, if he had buried that header. Good shaoe to the team, and the replacements all played well. Poor ref again, missing obvious handballs, Zaballetta's body check on Jay Rod, Nasri's 2nd booking etc. Magnificent goal from Ossie. Maybe the trolls will find somebody else to attack ?
  6. I think Ads must have the bug that downed Lovren or something, as he didn't look injured. No way was that a tactical decision. Squad looks a bit thin now, but could be a last chance for Gaston. Bigger chance for the bed wetters though.
  7. Good performance, bar the casual pass/turn from big Vic, but that woke us up a bit and made us play. Adam was fantastic. Shame he didn't put that 2nd half shot a bit lower.
  8. The Guardian's football weekly has a good mention 24 minutes in, with a French Journo saying that we have the best to Defensive midfielders in the PL. James Richardson also says that Morgan Schneiderlin should be in the French team for his name alone. Looks like everyone but Deschamps rates MS.
  9. Epic tackle from Morgan on Wellbeck. Great performance from all of them. Loved the way Fellani couldn't get near big Vic. Shrugged him of like a bug!
  10. If the Mail get the UK to leave the EU, then I would go for a French passport in a heartbeat. The only things we come back to the UK for are friends/family/football, and after a week we are homesick for France.
  11. 2nd time I've seen us win at anfield, once when Moran scored, once on the internet. Fantastic performance, 5th place too.
  12. Ossie looked lively, shame he didn't lift that shot. Wham set up to stop our fullbacks getting forward, which worked, but we did get through them a few times, only to be let down by poor touches from AL and particularly JayRod. The only worry really was from corners, but we defended them well.

  14. Spreading the payments over 4 years so that they can use the parachute payments to buy the ground is crazy. There are no parachute payments after this season, so they will have to find over £108k a month (close season as well ) to pay off the former heroes. That works out at 2,600 fans paying £20 for each home game or 25% of gate receipts before they pay their current squad, let alone Steve Bone.

    Gaston Watch

People keep saying Coutinho has adapted much better, but he had a mare yesterday. It happens. Gaston has had more anonymous games than good ones I admit but I have confidence that the coaches can get him playing like he did in the Everton Home game on a more regular basis.
  17. In South West France you can buy Bordeaux tickets in some of the bigger supermarkets, or print them directly from the club website. In Basque Spain you can get them at cashpoints, but I don't speak enough Basque/Spanish to understand how it works fully. Friends of mine got Real Madrid tickets through a reselling feature on the clubs website. In Italy I have paid on the day for tickets at Lazio and Verona. Hope that helps
  18. Lee Mason is obviously a code for Free Mason . Booked Osvaldo just because he had his picture taken with the pope the other day. Looked a good goal to me from Jay Rod. Thought we played well, but I think teams will target Shaw like PDC did today. Double up on him and take a booking to slow him down. Brave substitutions as well to really attack them at the end.
  19. Great performance, the new boys looked very good, and a good debut from Chambers at right back. Just outside the Champions league place on Alphabetical order. Bring on the Makems .
  20. To put it into perspective, I have just bought tickets for Bordeaux v Monaco for €14 with a €2 booking fee per ticket on top, albeit in the cheapest part of the ground. That's good value for the first league game of the season. On the other hand a friendly between conference new boys Salisbury and the Skates development squad would have cost £10.00, so £18.00 for Real Sociedad is good value by UK standards. Wish it was at their place, as it's only 4 hours drive from my house.
  21. Used to play FIFA 2000 on my old PC just for the pleasure of selling Stuart Ripley and Mark Hughes.
  22. Shaw.Isgrove, Chambers and Ward Prowse are all u21 so don't count.
